    When adjusting the colors with the curves tool and with the green channel selected, could you have bumped up the green, but much farther to the left in the shadows region? The darker green of the ocean may enhance a little more but the brighter areas of the photo wouldn’t change necessarily. I have not tried using the files yet, but was just curious if that would work, even maybe using a small “S” curve for that channel. Great video! The use of Lots of different tools were again demonstrated. Love it. Downloading the image files now.

    Cool way to make a shadow at 10:00 - thanks for this tip. (Me: duplicate the whale layer, HSL adj to remove saturation, mask tail away, reposition, Fx G-blur fade, reduce opacity... you know, anything to do it the hard way 🤪). At 13:20 why pink for the rectangle? (curiosity, not criticizing) I would have guessed a very light turquoise because water has a blue tone. Enjoyed the entire exercise, thanks for sharing these techniques.

    Very nice ! Question though. At the point I add the blur filter, it appears above the shadow layer and acts on all layers below ... How you get it to appear as a child layer in one go? I also tried to move it down to make it a child layer to the shadow layer, but then increasing the blur size has no effect at all ..

    • @AffinityRevolution
      @AffinityRevolution  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You need to change your Assistant's options (the Assistant looks like a butler, and is near the top right of the Affinity screen). In those options, change the bottom option so that filters are applied as child layers. 😊

    I think it will look very realistic with a puddle of water on the floor. Is there a way to add that? I looked up some tips on Photoshop but they all require free transformation of the layer to create reflection and I could not find equivalent tools in AP.

    • @AffinityRevolution
      @AffinityRevolution  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's the nature of Affinity Photo. It's limited to the size of your document (example: 2000 x 2000 pixels). Affinity Designer does not have that limitation.
