This is a kit I really would love to see in MG. But I am glad to see it for people that collect HGUC.
I gotta say I know the Gouf Custom was just imitation the original Gouf's blue colour but I always thought it was odd that the flight type was brown instead of blue considering where it's supposed to operate.

Just built the Custom and man what a SOLID HG. I always wanted a Flight Type, but based on just how awesome the Custom is, there is no question I am getting it.
The Bul-Ray video? You mean the BATTLE IN THE THIRD DIMENSION, which is just as awesome as it sounds.
It also has brief appearances in zeta. In fact thats where its first showed. Just one of those reserve units jaburo was using along with the gm canons and gm sniper customs
Sort of. That's the MS-07H Gouf. This is the 07H-8. The final and most successful attempt to make a flight-capable mobile suit. The best the 07H could manage was to hover, similar to a Dom, but less capable.

I'm a feddie deep inside but I also appreciate Zeon. And flight type is my unconditional love (with Dom II Colony type )

If the P-Bandai price gets too high, it might be a better idea to buy the hguc gouf custom and use the old 08th ms team kit as a conversion.

God I'd love if they dropped the 08MST Gouf Custom in this color plastic. It seems a bit silly to have every Gouf made be painted Ramba Ral blue, and in the Zeonic Front PS2 game the Initial Production MS-07A is in roughly this color, so it'd be great for making some more "grunt" type Goufs without having to repaint everything.

It’s got most of the spare parts to make a Gouf Custom. You have most of the legs and all of the arms and shoulders. You don’t have the bottoms of the feet, the waist, torso, backpack, or any of the pipes, so you’d need to steal some from another Gouf Custom and do some painting. But if you’re fine with the different head, torso, waist, and backpack, you will only need to steal the feet from a Gouf Custom.

08th ms team is on of my favorites. You should do a series of gunpla kits based on it.
Damn, I wish I could find one of these. Tried to get it during the P-Bandai sale but it sold out real quick. Became a fan after playing as it in Gundam Battle Operation 2

I have been wishing for a mg of this when i first built the old hg.
It's only now that I noticed that the lightning back weapon 2's thrusters look a lot like this things shoulders.

because it might help the kit holding the Gatling Gun and the shield much more steady

Check out Model Making Guru and Paint on Plastic channels. Lots of great painting tips even if you don't have an airbrush.
Bandai did MG Gouf 2.0 but since then they only did the M'quve custom and the Prototype Gouf as P-Bandai release. I hope Bandai have plan to release MG Gouf Custom 2.0 and then MG Gouf Flight Type too.
The shoulder armor looks a lot similar to gp01fb’s thrusters but smaller and upside down...

I was hoping to see the comparison between this one and the older HG Gouf Flight Type. Waht's the difference between the two?
Everything, the old HG is quite dated
this one has better proportions, articulation and color separation
Icelord I see. I'm not familiar with the original Flight Type, might need to look up for a side-by-side comparison to see how they differ.
The new one has less seam lines and more articulation with more detail,the original shield gatling gun is 2 pieces,the new one is a lot more pieces for example.

Spikesagita pretty much the same for me too. I still love my old HG Gouf Flight Type, but man it really needs an upgrade because their are parts missing now due to my love and play with it( yeah I know it’s a model that should be handled with a care, lesson learned, but it’s was still fun to swoosh it around though 😹) and tracking down the P Bandai is seriously quite the hassle, but will be so worth it😸

What is the difference between the gouf and a zaku
A Gouf is basically a land-based Zaku as per Zeon's tendency to create way too many specialized mobile suits of similar types.
The reason for the soft ammo belt is the required curvature plus detail would be very difficult to mold in PS. They'd need to spend a bunch more on technical molding solutions which would drive up costs quite rapidly.
Always think about how something can be formed it two halves without undercuts. ;-) I know a lot of things would be nice, but it helps to think about how these things can be made practically.
Three basic guidelines to consider (since the designers will stick to them whenever possible):
1) Avoid undercuts
2) Use a draft (i.e. avoid surfaces that are perpendicular to the mold line, especially long surfaces)
3) Walls must be the same thickness

I don't usually get 1/144 kits, but lately they've just been so good.
I would say some RG kits are even better than MGs
its almost the same colors as the Serpents
