I am surprised that you have chosen Canon over Sony camera. Canon seemed over exposed and almost always out of focus. Your face was never in sharp focus in selfie video. Sony had faster auto focus and always seemed locked on the subject. Exposure was perfect and the details caught my eyes. I am going to buy the sony hx99. Thanks for the video.

That Sony is buttery with focus but I like the colors on Canon more. I think Sony made a recent update to their color output.

Canon's color science is first rate. I'm going to buy the Canon GX7 MK III.

As you say, Canon autofocus slow, so often overexposed.
Sony IQ and mic seem much better than Canon
Totally agree. Technically speaking, the Sony takes the cake but aesthetically, particularly if you can use an external mic, I prefer the look of the softer Canon for vlogging. If I was doing travel or landscape specific work though, I imagine I would opt for the Sony.

FYI, you *can* get the fast AF and EVF of the Sony with 4K, a 1" sensor and a built in ND filter. Just get a a Sony RX100 (IV, V or VA variants). They cost more, but they'll give you what you're looking for, including (probably) more viewers ;-)
Thank you @Yirgamalabar! And I couldn't agree with you more, I love the Sony RX100 line and owned the Mark 1 and Mark IV. It's a bananas camera for the size. I mean LOG, built in ND, 1" sensor and f 1.8. It's a dream! It's just unfortunately quite a bit more expensive. But if anyone were to ask me what the best pocketable vlogging camera is, the RX would be at the top of my list if budget was no object.

Your Nerd Learner I like it. I use it for broll. I don't really like it as the main camera. Don't like the mic or color science like I do Canon. Plus the 1.8 aputure is great.

Sony is better in autofocus while Canon has better stabilization..I'd get the Sony and buy a gimbal (Zhiyun Crane M).
A fair compromise unless you want to travel light. I have two gimbals that I love the effect of but never use because I can't stand the weight and slow down of balancing, etc. If I'm going to use a gimbal, I'm probably going to be using my mirrorless camera. But I've seen amazing things done with the Crane M and think it's great for anyone willing to put the work in to use it.
@@YourNerdLearner Yeah, that's why I bought a Sony action cam..still contemplating if I really want a gimbal. It's useful if you keep walking while shooting though, otherwise, I'm alright with panning.
Yes, the HX-99 has 4K, but every HX-99 video I've seen of the Sony is really wobbly and jello-y. Very distracting.
