    Valuable insights with points that you brought up......good stuff, thanks. I got interested in what DSLRS were like and bought an affordable used Canon 7D and a few used lenses. I always loved taking pics while hiking and thought it'd be cool and fun to see what I could archive with a decent camera and lenses. It is cool and fun, but it's a real drag and compromise on my hiking (I took 6hrs doing what should have taken like 2...LOL). Plus, I love to ride my motorcycle to trailheads, and love cycling. So, honestly, as I'm still a total novice frequently experimenting with settings, it really is time consuming and cumbersome. Right now, it's a catch 22 for me since I am not sure what I'll come across or how to maximize potential wildlife sightings and I'm not quick and proficient at coming up with the best settings. So, it's like I need to cover a lot of ground but a DSLR keeps me from covering a lot of ground and getting the exercise I need....LOL

    Muy buen video! El problema con el zoom de esta cámara es en interiores ...

    I have ff, apsc, etc. I still just love that I can put 700mm in the pocket. Waiting more compact cameras to come in 2025. Panasonic lumix TZ99 is first to come in this field.

    Thank you for all these reviews and comparisons. They are very important for us beginners. I would like to ask your opinion and advice. I have a Canon aps-c 1200d whit Sigma 18-300 (480 equivalent). I want more zoom but I don't like to change objective, and you say in this video that this kind of camera aren't a replace for DSLR camera. I take picture for me o for stamp in a book, and in grandangle or till 35mm smartphone for me do an excellent job with AI. Definitively, for you, a super zoom camera, compact or not, could be better than the cropped picture of my Canon? Could you raccommend one superzoom camera like Nikon p950, Canon SX60 or the smoller sony and canon? Thanks for reading

      I more so I warn people that there are some draw backs to using point and shoots. Hopefully if you buy one you can live with the slower functionality vs what you have. I can live with these cameras and can work around the smaller sensors and more noise or the slower autofocus but some people cannot. They are all about the best image quality, speed, focus, noise level, detail. For me I need a camera that is good enough with the ability for it to be small and not change lenses. It is all tradeoff hopefully you can live with them.

    I love this camera, I shot it out with the Panasonic TZ95 on my other channel and it's just no competition. The only thing that bothers me is the five-minute 4K video time limit.
    Howcome you didn't edit this in 4K to preserve more detail?

    Love the detailed review and explanation! I just have a few questions. Is it fairly easy to use for beginners with no videography knowledge? Also, how long does your camera’s battery life generally last?

    • @MAKE_PHOTOGRAPHS_ANYWHERE
      @MAKE_PHOTOGRAPHS_ANYWHERE  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It has a very small battery you are going to want a few of them FYI. I usually for every point and shoot have a bunch of them because most eat the batteries. They are cheap but I usually have 2 to 4 of them. It is not the easist camera to use since it is ultra small. If you are a beginner thou you will struggle with every camera that is just the way it is for a beginner. Id say get any camera and practice practice you are going to make mistakes and you will get better. Hope this helps.

    I got a certified refurbished nikon a1000 on ebay, but there was a few minor cosmetic issues with it so I set up a return and they said that if I choose to keep it they will give me back $100. I got the camera on an ebay refurbished sale that took 15% off the $452.00 original price (but the tax is taken from the original price so it's more like a 14.2% discount lol). So the price would go down from $479.12 (after my state's 6% tax) to $311.32. I was thinking if I should rather get the panasonic zs200 that has a one inch sensor but only 360mm reach (on amazon for $635). I was thinking that since the sensor is twice the size you can do a 2x crop that would make it 720mm @ 5 megapixels in roughly the sensor size equivalent of the 1/2.3" sensor cameras and then have significantly better quality in the optical zoom range for like butterflies or non-wildlife shots.

    Excellent review. I love my HX99 for an Every Day Carry (EDC) on long walks or bike rides. The RAW files (and even the JPEGs) handle post processing very well, though DXO does NOT support the HX99 RAW files. Booo. ☹Beginners may want to look up Jason Herrman's SonyAlphaLab channel with his extremely thorough HX99 reviews on TH-cam; he explains the the FOUR types of zoom ranges on the camera and their limitations.

    cool. can you lower EV shift in video mode? Is the tripod mount metal or plastic?

    • @MAKE_PHOTOGRAPHS_ANYWHERE
      @MAKE_PHOTOGRAPHS_ANYWHERE  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think you can lower the ev exposure one way or the other meaning lower the iso or up the shutter speed along with lowering the ev exposure which probably does one of those. The tripod mount seems plastic fyi. It is a SUPER LIGHT weight camera probably does not need metal but maybe it will is should.

    • @videos3d313
      @videos3d313 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MAKE_PHOTOGRAPHS_ANYWHERE i have WX350 which doesnt support EV in video mode, so any white object in sunny day will blown out :( Also, tripod mount is plastic here and barely usable now. I switch tripod mount adapters often. Metal is the way to go.

    • @MAKE_PHOTOGRAPHS_ANYWHERE
      @MAKE_PHOTOGRAPHS_ANYWHERE  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I should say it has a metal screw in but not sure now sturdy the metal is connected to the frame if it is a metal or plastic frame holding in the metal screw port. Hope that makes sense. @@videos3d313

    Can I ask what shutter speed you were using? I have trouble getting sharp, focused photos without pushing the ISO too much (and medium-higher ISOs add so much noise with this camera).

    • @MAKE_PHOTOGRAPHS_ANYWHERE
      @MAKE_PHOTOGRAPHS_ANYWHERE  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Ok, first is a sanity check on your skill. I try to practice and use the camera as low as possible with the iso. So I can hand held the camera to get sharp images. I can hand hold the camera down to 1/4th of a second at 720mm. So I do punches in bunches so not all pictures are sharp at that point only a few because if the bird moves it is blurry. I normally am at 1/200th or so but can hand hold down lower if needed. Might come out with a video on how to get sharp low shutter speed photos. Thanks for the ideas, it is a little bit of an art..

    How does the HX99 compare to Nikon A1000; I have used the Nikon for a few years and find it difficult to get sharp results whereas P1000 is quite good.

    • @MAKE_PHOTOGRAPHS_ANYWHERE
      @MAKE_PHOTOGRAPHS_ANYWHERE  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Much faster focus and accuracy with focus especially in lower light. Not as much reach and probably not as much detail in the image if both are perfectly executed but I find the hx99 seems easier to get photos from the camera by a little bit. Out of all the point and shoots the a1000 seems to have the best iso noise and resolution but harder to work with. Hope this helps.
