Hi there, I could not find a firmware (on my HX99 it is version 1.00) update on the HX99 download side. Any idea what the newest version is now and how to get it?
I have the HX90v ... this camera's 1080p predecessor ... I bought it for the zoom capability in a small package. My two disappointments the lack of a 3.5mm mic jack and tripod mount location you mentioned. The RX100 m7 would be a better choice in this size range, but it's price will bankrupt you. I use a few different Sony APS-C cameras for my TH-cam channel, and seldom use the HX90v. Good show and good alternatives you recommend.
Hi did you find that it gets warm pretty fast? I was testing out the camera at home, not really taking pics but just setting it up in the menu screen, took 3 pics, a 30 second video, and I was surprised that it got warm already. Is that normal or do I have a lemon?
This is a very articulate & succinct review of the HX-99 Frankie. I think the camera has some plus sides for travelling. Excellent presentation. Would like to see some more camera reviews from you. Thank you
Hi I really need some help and advice please. This was one of the ones I was trying to look at, but now don't think it would do. I would like to buy a compact camera with a good zoom, good video, picture quality, touch screen, flip screen if possible, anti shake as I have a small tremor and RA in my hands but I really would like to buy one and finally take nice photos of birds, family so fast moving, night shots and would like to photo water that looks like foggy/steamy if you know what I mean. I am a pensioner (in my 70s and a young pensioner), so cannot afford a lot. I bought an Olympus Pen 10 camera just before the pandemic but then we could not go out. But trying it on birds in the garden and horses in the field where I lived, I realised with these hands not a good idea to have to keep changing lens, as it was awkward. Could you please point me in the right direction please. I live in Uk. I really do need advice. Many thanks.
My gf just got me this hx99 so i wanted to check out a quick review. Good job bro. Also, i was like ohhh!! When i seen the footage of albany. Thats where i live. Anyway, decent review bro.
After seeing this I think this is not that good camera esp compared to the phones these days... I was just buyin it for fun but I dont want to get disappointed as I want crisp and clear photos
Bro I think you know nothing about this camera this guy doesn't even know how to shoot see another yt videos about hx99 it's much much better than any iphone or samsung.. because after all it's a camera and have better sensor and give you a natural vintage look
You make shit compare compact camera with biggest one, when you recomended best cameras. You forget that the costumer buyer from the HX cameras, is whon want slim ou compact cameras that it do a lot of things, like HX99, that you can put it in your pocket, layman!!!! Im only buy the HX series because are small an do a lot of things. Of course there exist better cameras in the same size, like a 100 Sony series but they are more expensive and no record in 4K, neither a full power zoom like a HX99 and touch screen that you dont says nothing it about. PS: where in this planet you find it on $ 350? Thats is too hard too find it, and on $ 470 ou 510 with tax, is very rare thing. And remembre that it is the last HX series on HX99, since it is 3 years old.
@@MirthFilms I know plenty vloggers, none of them shoot in 4k. Sure you'll get some extremes, but the average vlogger shoots 1080p. Even your video is 1080p.,. I'm not saying don't show the 4k capabilities, but you really should show the difference between 4k and 1080p. The stabilisation is a lot smoother at 1080p.

I think it can do FHD 1920×1080 in 120 fps....

But why are all your still examples so grainy?
What about the battery life
Unfortunately 4k countinous recording is just around 5 minutes, that's a dealbreaker for me.
Where can you buy this camera for $350??

Pics looks horrible bro. Did you add grain to them? Ouch! Thanks for saving me hassle of buying and returning this camera though

This is not a $350 camera. It is at best $470.
Vloggers shoot video at 1080p .... you were testing at 4k. if you switched to 1080p it is MUCH more stable.
Anyone that shoots 1080p in 2023 is in the wrong. Unless it’s for high frame rates

It can only record for 5 minutes. Utterly useless.
