I’ve had so many tailbone injuries over the years hitting boulders while tubing the Kern River that I live with permanent tailbone pain now. I just started doing this exercise 3 days ago and I already notice a huge difference! I had no idea it was just a dislocated tailbone issue. Always thought I had a permanent bruise or fracture. Thank you soooo much for this helpful video!!!
Took a tumble on the stairs the other day, I think I may have bruised my tailbone. Haven't been walling too fast, having trouble going from standing to sitting and vice versa. This exercise gave me instant relief, and also relieved the pressure off of my hips. Thank you, this was a lifesaver!
You need to seek medical help if you can hopefully because I suffered something like that in my 20’s and today in my 40’s it’s chronic pain 😢 but I think chiropractic would help a lot it’s just hard to find one in this area of my country

Hey I wanted to say thank you for this video. It has helped me so much. I have been dealing with this pain for about 2 years. It felt like muscles around my tailbone were being crunched when I sat down. Doing this exercise while flexing out my glutes seemed to pull the muscles out to where they should be. After about a week of this my pain is nearly non existent. Thank you!
Hi, was your coccyx misaligned or it was just the inflammatory? I have been dealing with this issue myself for almost a year now and it really frustrates me because I can't sit comfortably. Can you help me in this regard?
@@AnaM-gu5mv Hey Ana. My coccyx was and is misaligned. I go to a chiropractor who specializes in muscle activation once a month now. I do this exercise from this video alongside my monthly visit and it has helped to keep the issue down. My chiro has found that my coccyx tends to get pulled to the right and that messes everything up down there. He is able to push it back in place and for a couple weeks it's amazing but tends to start to move back before my next appointment. I think I will start making an appointment every 2 weeks to help the coccyx relearn and hold the correct position again. I'm so sorry you are suffering from this same thing. It has taken me a couple years to figure out the root of my issue. I am 90% better than I was a year ago though thanks to stretching and exercises my glutes, hip flexors, and lower back. Actually according to Dr tailbone injury has to be healed by complete rest as in continuous bed rest ....no sitting at all..... except while eating.....that to is difficult, because one cannot sit with a tailbone fracture......so one has to stand and eat or use a dough nut cushion as per advise.......but the fracture resolves only by bed rest 24/7
I was sleeping I didn't move in my sleep though..but when I got up it was a slight pain and I didn't think much and it kept getting worse.Anither thing while doing this exercise it was hurting but then it helped. Thanks❤

How long do I have to hold it and how many times per session should i do this? Also if im not feeling any shaking am i doing it wrong? Should i feel some flex pressure near the tailbone area? Thanks
I’ve been suffering for quite some time. No fall. I tried the exercise and it gave me some relief with the severity that I was suffering. I was so shocked because none of the other things really worked soooo I tried all kinds of things but this actually does work thank you Dr. Linn. Just one question how long do we keep doing it does it actually strengthen it to the point that we don’t have to do it anymore?
If it is still severe after a few weeks of doing the exercise, you should get an X-ray to see if you have a fracture in the tailbone, because that may be what’s causing the long term pain.
My understanding is there's nothing they can do if it's a fracture and that you can't even see those on an xray. Are those things true? If so, what can be done for a fracture and what imaging is needed?
How? Rollerskating/ rollerblading with no hip- butt skate pads. The butt pads do not show through mini skirts and shorts, unless I want them too. But while impatiently waiting for my orthopedic appointment, I am becoming a master at headstands on my inversion yoga chair and aireal yoga silk. It temporary takes pressure off the tailbone. My zero gravity chair made my tailbone hurt worse but helps either the Sciatica or pulled muscle in my left gluteous. Been wearing my skate butt pads all the time.
I have levator ani syndrome and i believe this symptom is quite related to this tail bone alignment. Let me try this exersise and hope this would work.

My Coccyx seems to turn here and there. Thank you
Am suffering pls suggest
Nice you
What do you do for a tail bone fracture then 😩
Actually according to Dr tailbone injury has to be healed by complete rest as in continuous bed rest ....no sitting at all..... except while eating.....that to is difficult, because one cannot sit with a tailbone fracture......so one has to stand and eat or use a dough nut cushion as per advise.......but the fracture resolves only by bed rest 24/7
Nah it actually worked so so well I love you for this thank you so much!
I was sleeping I didn't move in my sleep though..but when I got up it was a slight pain and I didn't think much and it kept getting worse.Anither thing while doing this exercise it was hurting but then it helped. Thanks❤
Thanks
It's working for me
Grate job Dr. ❤
I’ll try it doc
Is this exercise for healing from a fractured tailbone ? How long does it take to heal from a fractured tailbone ? Any help is appreciated
Hi! Did u find any solution?
I really have no idea as to how i got this pain, all i remember is i bent a little to rinse my couple of clothes that's it and I had difficulty in standing straight since then I am with tha pain but I just came across your advice on exercise, which i will try instantly wish me luck from this awful pain and if works i shall share my testimony surely. 🙏
Glad we could help you Michelle!
How many a day ?
Thanks man my tailbone feels tight after a wrestling tournament and I’m definitely gonna start doing this
Best of luck!
Landed on my tailbone snowboarding😂
I landed on mine while snowboarding yesterday as well 😭
Same. Knew I'd find the Snowboard community in here somewhere lol
Me 4 🤣
same 🏂
Skiing was mine
This exercise works. Thx.
Thank you ❤
Thankyou doc super effective
Always welcome! Thanks for your support!
This felt amazing! Thank you!
Thank you.
You're welcome!
this helped at first shot
Home school really said here’s a video you’ll need :
What you go to the school for psychics🙄🤣🤣🤣
@Rehab and Revive As you said we need to stop the excercise when shakiness stops. What shakiness mean here. Tailbone shakiness or heel shakiness? Can someone reply to this who got cured with this video. Would be so helpful
Yes go for it. I felt my tailbone pain is almost gone by 95%. Shakiness here means when you join heels your legs will shake.
Thanks so much!! My butt hurts and hopefully this fixes it
Now my heels hurt and my back still means I can't sit down. Great
I've had this pain for 6 months
This exercise isn't for anyone with ongoing coccyx issues (that aren't fractures)
Responding to the person:Red tape - Don’t know why you said your heals hurt? I got99% relief 😅 in a week. I used to cry so much pain PT didn’t help so I was researching on my own and happened across this and it changed my life!!!
@@michellebrown7449 Bro Can you please tell that the pain has parmanently gone or it just goes for some time and we'll have to keep doing this exercise again and again...Please tell🙏🙏🙏🙏
@@michellebrown7449 how are u now ,is your pain gone?
@@anshulsingh3130 have u find any solution to your pain?
Who else ran over their sisters foot while roller skating and fell over on purpose to make her laugh but landed on their tail bone 😢
I have had pain for years. Nothing helps! Mostly the pain is when I sit over 15 minutes. Anything over 15 minutes and it is very painful. I'm going to try this. Hopefully it helps some. When I stand from. A sitting position, especially in a car it's the worst pain i have ever had.
So?..
Any luck?
did it work?
It helped for a brief time, I need to be more consistent with it.
Same! But I've had it for 7 months
That was quick
Great information, especially since I took a fall on my tailbone. Keep up the good work.
Glad it helped! Thank you for your support!
