It hits alot of notes for young people about the endless multiplicity of possibility that Jordan Peterson talks about. When you're a kid and your whole life is ahead of you and you could be anything you want, that's what it evokes. Johnny has so many choices when he graduates. Then life comes and you have to choose to be something, or to be nothing. It's a beautiful time, even if as the movie shows the things you end up doing might be horrifying.
Total Recall original was also good. The Robocop remake to me was actually good. The remake of Total Recall was utter shite it didn't even take place on Mars.

Depuis ce jour-là je suis un citoyen et non un civil. Tu savais que aux USA quand ce film est sortie il n'y avait que la version censurée mais au Quebec on avais la non censurée par chance. Je suis même devenu ''amie'' ou (connaissance si tu veux) avec la fille à Casper van Dien et je luis ai dit que le film que son père a fait étais malade et elle m'a dit qu'est-ce que vous avez tous à capoter sur ce film-là ???? 😂 Je lui ais dit que cétais plus que un film. désolé pour ce roman entier que j'ai écrit 🤷♂ Voulez-vous en savoir davantage ?? 😉

C'était l'époque. Par la suite il est toujours resté dans mes films préférés comme un semi-nanard/semi chef-d'oeuvre. Encore aujourd'hui je me surprends parfois à citer des répliques ou à m'inspirer de passage comme quand des cons me sortent ''ou mais la violence ne résout rien'' ... ^^ Je me souviens qu'avec des amis qui ne l'avaient jamais vu on avait loué le premier et une fois fini ils avaient adoré et je leur ai dit, ''Il y a deux suites si un jour vous vo...'' ils m'ont tout de suite dit let's go on va les louer... ^^ Et on est retourné les louer dans la même soirée que le premier. Dude probably also thinks Starship Troopers is about war because he watched the movie and never read the poli Sci theory made into a fiction that was written when the military industrial complex first was coming up and it was a commentary on that to. The federation came from vets tired of the bullshit wars and politicians lying and saying those wars are to protect values they never really held and those wars never really did. The book was kind of prophetic in a way. There's also a theory by people who obviously never read the book that the bugs were propaganda. But that's not true as there was three hostile alien races in the book. But they only really fought the bugs and thier allies while briefly mentioning the third. During Rico's OCS the book showed the bugs being real.

The movie isn't cheesy at all...it is a parody of a fascist society fighting another fascist society...the people were overly beautiful, the recruiting video and the classroom explains a society that is not democratic, but rather, hype-authoritarian... the director (a liberal) deliberately dressed them in Nazi like outfits...the book was written in the 50s and is different, very good too...the movie is surprisingly good as well when you peel back the layers and realize it was the same two societies fighting each other...one beautiful and one ugly but both the same dominant species attempting to take over the galaxy and impose their societies...that's what makes the movie very good and not cheesy at all.

THAT is the one we all want! the thing is that one is very expensive for a cd. looking at at least £40 for this one anywhere you look. so that means that the people who own it havent uploaded it to the internet from what i can find, still. i must cave one day and buy a copy; if i ever do, i'll upload and let you know hahahaaa.
