    After 60 years of service of this 64 Galaxie 500 , she still has a lot if class and at this price you can not go wrong. But on her it is easy to do to restore her. So give her some TLC and you will have a nice car for life. For she is very nice and I love it.

    Honestly, this is exactly the type of car I'm looking for. Power is nothing special, has issues, but sounds good and those lines look great. Will eventually get me something like this before retirement.

    64 Galaxie. I never saw one in real life, and I always thought they were just perfect for the era.
    Thank you for the tour and the incredible inspection. You're the best at it. You're not a talk show, but you give the best insight to any car you showcase for sale. I am not just told facts about it, but I feel like I'm right there with you getting a good look at the interior while you drive. You hear the exhaust (AND see the exhaust) which helps me get an idea of what's going on under the hood.

    A friend had his Mom's '64 powder blue exterior (light blue). The interior was black throughout. I got a ride,it was maxed out. She kept in a garage when she was at work. He went to get it each day after school & picked her up. This was 1966.
    The '64 won some races.

    Nice to see well maintain 64 Galaxie 500 for under $15k not fan of rhino liner vinyl top but to each their own & nothing but simple window seal replacement can fix passenger side vent.

    My father had a 1964 Galaxie 500XL that he inherited from his grandfather when he passed away in 1989. He was the stenciler for the See's Candy portraits and bought the car new from his earnings. It had the wire hubcaps with the three-spoke spinner in the middle. Had a rose-beige paint job and a 390 four-barrel under the hood. Also had black leather interior, a tilt steering wheel, and a black vinyl top, with auto on the tree (3-speed?). Two-door. No A/C though, which was always fun in the California summers.....and God knows how many times I smacked my head on that metal speaker in the center of the back seat lmao.
    He sold it before we moved in the summer of 1995 after some asshole pushed it down the street one night while we all slept and stripped it apart. I never saw it again. Now all we have left is a brief glimpse of it during a Softball game on VHS, and one color photo of it parked outside of his work. Lots of good memories from it, but Lord I wish we still had it.

    Hey Nick, if that Galaxy has a cruis-o-matic trans, the first position after neutral is 2nd and 3rd. If there is a green dot in the 2nd position after neutral that is 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Just offering information.

  • @justsumguy2u
    @justsumguy2u 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    Yeah, it's got some filler, along with some DIY pop-riveted front floorpans....but I think this one is worth the repairs. The body isn't completely shot, interior looks good, and someone did a nice job on the trunk repairs. I like it

  • @davidkeeton6716
    @davidkeeton6716 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    If this still has the stock trans, FMX, you went from neutral, one position down to where it starts in 2nd and then goes to 3rd. If you pull the lever down 2 positions, where there is a green dot on the column indicator, that position starts in 1st and will give you all 3 gears. Cruise O Matic. This thing needs an AOD put in it.

    Nick, that's a beautiful Galaxie.. all those issues are minor details and easy to fix. Also, there are a bunch of companies selling repop sheet metal for these, if you would ever need it. That price? Under 15k? Outstanding!!! I like it! I bet this one sells really quick.

      That car is NO Barrett Jackson quality car and is only worth about $7000 to $9000. Everybody prices their old cars based off of that auction house. Most high dollar cars sold at Barrett Jackson are frame off restorations. Not saying this car isn’t OK , it’s just overpriced for what it is.

    • @Thomas63r2
      @Thomas63r2 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      MM mostly sells project cars, even their nicer cars have problems. For anyone who has never bought a car online - virtually always the video dithering makes the cars look better than they do in real life. The days of dealers actually fixing used cars is almost entirely gone - most dealers just do a mop and glow. Basically they do just enough so the vehicle can be driven onto the transport truck. God bless Nick, he calls them like he sees them, warts and all. Much better than the typical seller lying about the car being perfect. About the only thing he does wrong is to soft pedal the mileage - anyone with a brain knows that old cars only have a five digit odometer and 60 years later the car has likely flipped the odometer several times.

    • @Tartan1206
      @Tartan1206 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @Thomas63r2 most of them probably flipped once. Cars didn't last for high mileages like they do today and generally people don't drive classics and put on tons of miles. You go to some cruise nights, out to dinner a few times a year and it gets parked for the winter months.

    • @mrgfy111
      @mrgfy111 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @richard. Pre 68 cars are federally exempt from seat belt laws. In 1964 they were optional. Only a commie state like California would ticket you driving a 64 galaxie for no seat belt.

    • @jasongerona2529
      @jasongerona2529 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      It just isn’t cost effective to fix every little quirk-that’s why they prices the way they are at Maple Motors; otherwise, if perfect, they’d command Mecum or Barrett-Jackson prices…and they’re not always perfect either. I’ve been to their lot a number of times-Nick and the rest of the folks at MM are good, honest folks.
