How could anyone not smile when looking at Gilbert's sweet little toothless grin? He's precious. So glad he's found his place in the world where he's safe & loved.
What an adorable little guy! Thank you for your kindness to Gilbert. I inherited my Mother's senior dog, Daisy. I promised to take good care of her and I do. I'm thankful that I have her.❤
I'm so glad that you adopted Gilbert. ❤️ All dogs need a home and to be loved, and you're providing that for him. Bless you, Gilbert and all of your dogs. 🙏
I adopted a senior Chihuahua and she was the best, sweetest little girl on the planet. She was our first dog and, like your sweetie, she was just dumped on the streets in the middle of winter. My daughter knew I was looking for a small dog and saw her when she first came up for adoption. We rushed right over and adopted her immediately. Best thing ever!
I'm sooo glad Gilber got you for forever mommy. Sometimes it just takes time to find your home , where you ARE wanted and can trust those who take you in and will NEVER send or give you away. Gibert has found such a home,.
Aww what a blessing that Gilbert found this absolute angel of a woman to shower him with patient love. I was never a big chihuahua person myself, but my mom rescued an elderly (and very abused) chihuahua a few years ago. It took a long time for him to realize he wasn’t going to get screamed at or hit by us. Now, he’s energetic, smiles ear to ear, and is such a sweetheart. The whole neighborhood is in love with him lol
We have adopted 4 chihuahua’s from the animal rescue. Now I think the ONLY kind of dog is a chihuahua. My wife is away for a month and when she asks how are her kids I have to ask whether she is talking about the ones she gave birth to or the others . It’s always so cute when she says she gave birth to them all. We love these babies!
Yup… It makes me sad to see that there are so many people who hate chihuahuas and even abuse the poor things. We got a 2 year old chihuahua that was tortured by his previous owners and the poor thing could barely move after his surgery once we had gotten him. He was very defensive and growled a LOT but now he’s doing great and though doesn’t really like anyone except me and like 2 other people, he’s a lazy little critter that loves to zoom around the house after a good nap. They are wonderful breeds that get so deeply attached with one person though maybe not very social, they are my favorite because of how much love they give to their special chosen loved one.
I'm in awe of anyone who has adopted a dog and given it a good home. I was unsure if I was suited to handle any dog with trauma, or it's routines being wildely different from mine, so my first dog was from a breeder. The breeder being open for me dropping in unannounced and check on the puppies when ever I wanted made it the right thing to do for me then, but with the experience I've built up I'll probably adopt a middle aged or senior next time.
the family who said the dog was too jealous didn't even give the dogs enough time to get to know each other. Im glad this chihuahua found a better home

And that dog will be forever grateful you took him in. Good luck in your search! 🥰🥰🥰
I have a rescue Frenchie. He had been passed to several homes because he doesn't like other dogs. His previous owner gave him up to be adopted because she had pit bulls that she knew wouldn't get adopted. It broke her heart. He was 8. Now he's 13 and going slow, but loved oh so much. And he still gets to see his first mom as she works at the vet we take him to.
I don't know why your comment made me so happy. The fact that your dog first Mama made such thoughtful choices when she realized that the dogs couldn't get along, or that the Frenchie still gets to see her... you're all doing such good in those dogs lives. Thanks 👍
Bless you for adopting a senior animal. They so often get overlooked by potential adopters. I guess because of fear with vet bills and lack of energy younger animals have. But....just goes to prove they are more calm, settled and the best little friends you can have. More senior animal adoptions please !!❤😊
Yes! Seniors are so amazing!!!! You said it all! Lots of younger dogs and cats love seniors too! and vice versa I will say also, a one year old tuxedo I rescued from being put down once was truly a senior at heart- he literally sat next to a Christmas tree each year! not going into it....just always the best little shadow and even would tell me when it was bed time, or to sit down etc.... they tend to be wise beyond their years... and would go well with seniors. Plus when he was a senior someone gave us their four year old tuxedo whose cat was jealous of her (like this little guy in the video- she's just so cute.... it happened her whole life!) I couldn't send her back out there and kept her- she thought my senior cat was the best guy ever too! or once I had three seniors at once- that was hilarious- there was a whole order and mediator thing going on!!!
I rescued my baby girl from the streets, she lasted 18 months surrounded by love, copious amounts of her favorite foods and tons of walks (at least 3 times a day) she was the best and deserved only the best on the remainder of her life, it's been 2 months now since she crossed the rainbow bridge and not a single day goes by that i wish i could give her one more hug, bebe Coco i miss you so much.
My dog passed away last spring and honestly in my heart I can't take another rainbow bridge event for a long time. I'd love to adopt a senior dog but I want more time with my beloved pet. Maybe it's selfish but we shouldn't judge everyone who decides to walk past the sweet old dog in a cage. They may have suffered a tragic loss and the pain is too great still for them to have to do it over again. Young dogs have issues too but you at least get more time with them usually. It would be better if I already had a dog living with me.
Totally agree. I’m so glad to hear people talking about the dog or cat choosing THEM. Cause it’s pretty powerful stuff when an animal of Amy kind decides you are it’s everything. Such a great video, I’m all mushy now & want to hold an animal so badly! Lol ☺️
What an adorable pup ❤ Great that you mention scented candles. In fact, collapsed trachea or not, scented candles should have nothing to do in a house with dogs. Not sure if she will read these comments but I had a senior chi with 3 younger ones and I too would walk the younger ones for about an hour or more but I put my senior chi in a backpack that I turned the pouch part around to my front side and placed him inside The carrier part with blankets… he loved it so much! He just sat in there with his upper body upright as if he was on a ride! It was his favorite part of the day! Mine too! So now you never need to leave him behind again! I would do this even on big hikes in the mountains… he went everywhere with me and my younger dogs
Gilbert reminds me of my little Daisy. I lost her suddenly to cancer when she was 11. I wish I could’ve taken care of her at her senior years. It bring a smile to my face seeing a dog spoiled and happy like Gilbert. Thank you
Que bella historia del guerrerito Chihuahua, que tiene sus años pero mantiene las distancias en su espacio personal. Gracias a su familia que lo acogió como un tesoro.

Just so sad. Chihuahuas are just so misunderstood! They don't like to be scared or bullied. I love my 3!❤oh, almost forgot, THANK YOU FOR ADOPTING HIM! Your the best!
I adopted a senior chihuahua and she had similar problems. I bought a 3 wheeled jogging stroller (rugged) and I was able to pop her in that so she could come along on the walks. She couldn't walk very far on her own but she loved being part of the group and when we stopped at a stream or field she could come out and toddle around.
I LOVE this Story ! To give a Dog Hope and Love is the greatest gift to give ! You wonder What these Little Animals were thinking when they were in peril ? God Bless people who do this !
Gilbert is the cutest little old cranky man, and his mama is so sweet. Absolutely made my day to see this. Love you, Gilbert!! Btw, my chi loves lettuce and Gilbert may have been caged or kept indoors for breeding all his life. Dogs who endured that often hate the feel of grass. My puppy mill rescue was like this. Grass may as well have been hot lava or shards of broken glass. He did NOT want to walk on it. 😘😘
Aww, Gilbert is adorable and looks so much like our 10-year-old chihuahua, Teodora (Dora). They even have the same "smile!" I'd never wanted a chi before until we adopted Dora. She'd belonged to my nephew's grandparents who'd died within days of each other. She was traumatized and there was no one in the family to take her so when asked, we agreed, not knowing how things would turn out. It's been over six years and I can't imagine our lives without her. Here's to dogs with second chances! It warms my heart that dogs like Gilbert and Dora are so happy.
He is the smiliest dog I've seen for a long time. Long live Gilbert even though I'm a woman I have a deep voice which a lot of people like, some comment and sometimes really high voices annoy me. Gilberts mum has a wonderful soft voice and I could listen to that all day. The way she talks to Gilbert is lovely. You are wonderful thanks for loving all your dogs.
I have had chihuahuas since I was 8. I currently have three. I’ve never met a chihuahua that isn’t jealous. That’s a core tenant of their personality. My babies are continuously snapping at each other but exist happily. When it’s time to go outside for zoomies or it’s bedtime they suddenly become best friends.

Thank you
Oh my god how cute he is! It feels safe to know that you are taking good care of him.❤😊
You sound like a good mom.😂
You have a precious angel there
Aww, cute chihuahua with sweetest mom :)
Gilbert is awesome. God bless you for being the best owner he’s ever had. You’re an Angel.
I have a chihuahua. 6.5 pounds. Runs the show at our house. God bless you for adopting this guy. This made me smile and today I needed this.
The cutest! My chihuahua is 18. We go on walks but she doesn’t like walking on grass either.
❤❤❤ THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH ❤❤❤
No doubt Gil laughed at him when he got all the attention…he’s so cheeky and precious! 💗 Birdie & Gilbert omg even their names match together!
He looks like a Gremlin, don't feed him after midnight or get him wet.🎉 Beautiful little guy, and thank you for sharing 💖
Que bella historia del guerrerito Chihuahua, que tiene sus años pero mantiene las distancias en su espacio personal. Gracias a su familia que lo acogió como un tesoro.
penso que si tambien
Yes, I agree. And well said btw, Couldn’t have said it better☺️👍🫶
My chihuahua is 16. He has a collapsed trachea and is toothless also. He has been my best friend for a very long time now.
Omg gilbert is just beyond cute.
He’s right where he needs to be! There are no coincidences! Thank you for the rescue and share! 🐾♥️🐾
I felt like I was going to cry watching this video. I recently lost my chihuahua, and little Gilbert looks just like him. Thank you, GeoBeats, for spreading love and kindness with your videos.
Sorry for you loss, what was their name?
me too, I lost my Chihuahua this past April 2023, Charlie was 15. I felt guilty for the longest time...
I will spread twice the hatred and malice because of this comment and video
What a sweet little muppet! I'm so glad Gilbert found such a loving forever home. ❤️
What a sweetie
lil cutie
Thanks to this wonderful woman, who wanted this loving little dog! You were meant to care and love him, and he was meant to be yours! You saved him! Hurrah for you Gilbert!, Hurrah for you! It took too much time, but you finally ended up with the right person! Wonderful! Love to this family, wendy
☑️☑️☑️☑️☑️👍👏🌚🏜️🐈⬛♾️
❤❤❤❤
Thank you kind woman for rescuing Gilbert & giving him a loving, caring home.
That little guy is the reason we all love Dogs so much.
Adorable. Sweet pea little guy. I’d take in a heartbeat and I’m so glad you guys got him because you’re great! Thank you for being a rescuer 🎉😅
What a little sweetheart. Gilbert and you are both so lucky to have found each other.
He was MEANT to be yours!!!!❤❤❤❤
Aww, Gilbert is adorable and looks so much like our 10-year-old chihuahua, Teodora (Dora). They even have the same "smile!" I'd never wanted a chi before until we adopted Dora. She'd belonged to my nephew's grandparents who'd died within days of each other. She was traumatized and there was no one in the family to take her so when asked, we agreed, not knowing how things would turn out. It's been over six years and I can't imagine our lives without her. Here's to dogs with second chances! It warms my heart that dogs like Gilbert and Dora are so happy.
Dora=Gift! 😍
Oh he's an angel! God bless you for rescuing him! ❤
OMG HE REALLY SMILES!! 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
Bless little Gilberts, precious heart! I am so glad you found each other.
He's such a sweetie Thank you for helping him and taking him in too. And also watch out for some big birds too 🤎🐶🤎🐶🤎
Oh my goodness! What a adorable smile he has! Thank you for adopting sweet Gilbert! He is absolutely precious 💖
God Bless You 😇🐾🐶💋✨
At 1:38, oh my gawd, that face. I LOVE THAT FACE! How can anyone give that sweet baby up. Such a sweet heart.
What a happy dog Gilbert is now. You’ve given him the life he deserves!
p.s. I love his smile.
