    ℹ️ About the Episode
Whenever we get the chance to share a look behind the scenes at how something is made, we take it. You might recall the episode from Detroit, MI when we went inside Atlas Tube to see how RV axles are made. ‪@NewellCoachCorp‬ makes some of the finest (and most expensive) RVs on the market. They don't make very many each year compared to other RV brands, and they build them on their own chassis in a single plant-which happens to be directly off Route 66 in Oklahoma. The start-to-finish process of building a $2,500,000 RV is impressive to say the least, but the paint schemes on these rigs will blow you away! In this episode, we popped into Newell Coach hoping we'd hit a good time for a plant tour, and we got lucky. Brian shared every step of the process with us, from building the superstructure to the finished product. Join us inside Newell Coach to see some of the latest RV innovations out there.

For those that watch each week, thank you! We still have more MO to come. It was easier to release this episode first and then go back to leaving Ted Drew's from last week and head to Springfield, MO. More RT66 to come. We're glad you're here!

Amazing stuff. And my mind boggles when I start thinking about the engineering that went into the design. But then you think about the fact that the Bird was the state of the art for 1984, and you have this juxtaposition with Newell, and it hits you how far the industry and technology have come in 4 decades.

Their use of projectors on the window screens to project on is one of the smartest things I've seen and, since I write RV reviews, I have seen a LOT of things. It's. a brilliant solution with essentially no down side.
I admire the heck out of the caliber of the paint jobs but just don't get the whole carnival float appearance that people seem to like.

Great job on the video, M&T! I can tell you that you had to really pare the content down; otherwise it would have EASILY been a 2 hour video. There is SOooo much to tell about Newell’s entire team; from the first person you meet, to the people who clean your coach after a service….they are ALL the gems of America! Their passion is infectious, which is why so many owners have owned many Newells over the years.

A few months back I saw one at an RV park, I didn't know what a Newell was but I noticed that their tow vehicle was a brand new GMC Yukon Denali. I said to my wife "if that's their tow vehicle, what is the rig like?"..... saw that they STARTED at 1.5 Mil.... we were leaving the grounds at the same time and they were pulled over in front of the office..... I went WIDE to avoid getting close so there was ZERO chance I hit them on the way out!!

Glad you made this video. After having two other large production motorcoaches, I swore that the next one will be a Newell. Like you, I have met with Brian and I have seen enough video tours that I feel like I know my way around their facility. While the coach is physically amazing and the features would have taken another hour just to summarize, the real feature you forgot to talk about is what makes this brand the absolute best. The warranty. 24 months unlimited miles plus 24/7/365 technical support with a guaranteed call back from a top Newell technician within 20 minutes regardless of the day or night. I have paid a lot for my previous coaches but the service was so bad I lost more value just waiting to get things fixed and/or replaced. Not here. The testimonials of the support have made so many people who can afford coaches at twice the cost, family and they return again and again to Newell.

Great video. However, I have a question, maybe you could forward it to the manufacturer. As a retired bus mechanic I know the value of layouts and schematics. When they send out the coach does any of the referred to layout plans for each station go with the vehicle. Seeing on schematic that the wire enters a premade harness is a good thing but knowing exactly where that harness is located is sometimes invaluable. On a bus you can usually open panels and and follow the actual harness, not so much in a motorhome. All that paperwork (usually just a computer screen on a modern assembly line) could be put on a cd and passed onto the coach owner to make repairs or modifications knowing where the harness physically placed. Just a thought.

Gorgeous. Newell has always been my Fav. Unfortunately it's just Too much Coach for us. My question though is, since EVERYTHING on this coach (except the Cummins motor) is Custom, where do you go when you need something to get fixed? I mean you can't always just go back to Newell.
When you buy the rig do they give you a print out of the schematics for every system, so the various repair shops around the U.S. know where to put there hands?

    Um.... WOW!
Am I understanding this correctly? The chassis is completely custom made by this company? They DO NOT start with a chassis from something/someone else?
The attention to detail and the custom painting on it.
I am not a "Motorhome guy" at all. I've never appreciated them even with Mom and Dads Holiday Rambler. It was nice. Expensive, especially for the 96 model it was at 34ft but no slides and the front cab took so much space from the coach as they seem to do. (seam? seem? whatever). I like my dually pulling the trailer and have the dually as the "drive around" vehicle. BUT... These can pull 12,000 pounds behind them!
    Price?
Never mind. I don't want to know how out of my range they actually are... I'll just stick to the Alliance. Or the DRV. Or what ever we decide on in a few more months....
    Beautiful!

Man wished I would have known when you were coming through. I live down the road from commerce Oklahoma where that new coach is produced. I live in a little small town called Baxter Springs Kansas. Love seeing this episode. They are a great company with a great product.

The editing, graphics, music -- next level. Great job (prob Mark?). Did they say what the average custom cost runs?

Yes, still all Trish and me :) No outsourcing editing. There is no average for newell. They are all over 2M. Unreal, but fun to see!

Thats some imagination right there. The paint alone is amazing. And then there is the thought behind their products and features.....wow, just WOW!!! I could spend some time there.....AND MONEY.

I'm scarred for life now, I have to waste all our money on lottery tickets so I can buy one or find a rich Uncle. Too bad I don't play and I'm now the elder at 59 in the family. I'm sure there're worth every penny, I wonder what the price was when they first started manufacturing them compared to now. Wow what a Rig they build.

WOW the paint! I can’t say I’m a fan of the shiny glitzy interiors though. And still too much brown. I do like the quality and the technology though!

Hi our in my neck of the woods. I used to work for Bass Pro shops Tracker Marine down the street from Newell. Also my wife used to take care of old mrs Newell before she passed. I see you have video crossing sailboat bridge north of Grove. 👋

It’s nice I guess. All I can think of is Matthew 6:20-But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal. ... I guess if things like this are where your heart is then it matters.

If any of you are gonna buy a coach that cost 2.5 million don’t waste your money on a Newell. If you ever get into a major accident the coach will not protect you. If your gonna spend that kind of money by a prevost from liberty or one of the larger coach companies. Prevost has a steel cage unlike Newell

  • @moandjen
    @moandjen 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Maybe it’s because I’ve never had a lot of money but I could not imagine spending that amount of money on a coach and driving it down the road with ease 😁 Like where do you go with all that fancy? Places I’ll never go I’m sure lol

Those drawers in the kitchen…a dream. A reminder of the saying, “you get what you pay for”. I am sorry to say though, I still don’t like the exterior design, it’s just a bit too much for me. I feel like someone needs to do some crazy original artwork on the outside of rigs instead of the typical same same.

Newell motorhomes are amazing. Perhaps obvious, but the reason motorcoach-based motorhomes don’t have a center entrance is that most of them are converted Prevost shells, which are designed and built to be commercial passenger vehicles. The front curbside door is so the driver has easy in/out. The same is true of the Bluebird conversions.

But it will be soon… yay! So looking forward to checking it out and hope to see different motor coaches than the one/s you saw… Brian is a great guy, so knowledgeable: happy travels along Route 66! Thanks for sharing - and your video production on this was excellent.
