August Luxury Motorcars is located right next to Kelowna airport, so unless you hear about fires close to the airport, then they are safe. and they are on the east side of the lake

Courtney’s house was fine luckily. Mike lives just above me so his house is ok. August luxury is a fireproof building and wasn’t affected. Matt’s house was ok but some of his families property on the west side burnt but I’m not sure how much.

Crazy how the world is on fire and all they can talk about is global warming... Ignoring the fact public lands and parks have been abandoned for years at this point and the lack of care is leading to these fire. I hate saying it, but most of these fire seems 100% ignored by government. Especially considering they are not offering to help people rebuild... But instead are trying to buy people out of their land at a fraction of its value... While at the same time they block all permits that would allow people to rebuild, or sell to a third party. This is a coordinated land grab, that's all I see

Damon, I look up to you for a few different reasons. The main one though is the way you are as a father. Between building the company and brand and being the way you are to your family is epic & motivating. Went through this in May here in Halifax Nova Scotia. I was one street away from evacuation, but we weren't allowed to unless told to, to avoid adding to the chaos that was already happening. I hope you all make it out unscathed. Sorry to those around you that have already lost everything. It is absolutely terrifying.

I live in Alberta, and as a nursing student going through the military, and being deployed to Kelowna. It reminds me of the Fort McMurray fire I went through back in 2016. All my love to you and all people going through something like this. It's a scary and uncertain time, but everyone in BC helping with this destruction has your back.

The fire burnt the homes across my apartment in Glenmore. As I was evacuating i drove past 2 families who were in the process of packing up in their driveway. Neither house survived. Its disasters like these where it almost doesnt feel real until you see the aftermath. Its tough sitting on my deck as I write this staring at a charred mountain and homes. Im grateful because I still have a roof over my head, but it hurts knowing the people less than 200ft away from me don’t get the same pleasure. This is a tough obstacle to overcome. Prayers are with everyone who is affected, I can’t imagine losing your home.

I’m from Northern California so I’ve been through this a couple times and it’s terrifying. One time my family sat across the freeway watching the fires burn and thinking we lost everything.

I lived through this a few years ago in Oregon. Had to flee because the smoke eventually filled the house. Luckily we didn’t lose anything and all of our neighbors were safe. Happy you and your family are safe. Aten bless all of you and your neighbors.
I'm in Maryland in the states. We had smoke here a couple weeks ago from the fires coming down. That's insane to me, to think the fires are that bad, that I'm thousands of miles away, and I was breathing the same smoke you guys are. That's just mind blowing. I hope to they get it under control asap, and prayers go out to everyone effected. 🙏

Damon, I know what it’s like to go through wild fires, out in Oregon we had the Almeda fire that was man made on a windy day. Unfortunately a lot of homes, businesses and beautiful landscape was lost. The people who started it were caught and taken to jail, but during the fire there were many people who didn’t know it was even happening because the amber alert system wasn’t working properly. We were evacuated and there was no speed limit, the police wanted all of us in our neighborhoods to get out and get out fast. Luckily our neighborhood was safe, but my heart went out to those in the surrounding neighborhoods that were affected. I’m happy to know that you got to go back home and it was all in one piece as well as your neighborhood! My prayers went out to all affected that they’ll be able to recover from what was lost. I just moved back to Vancouver from the interior 4 years ago after losing almost everything in a forest fire.
The fire fighters nailed a sprinkler to my roof and air dropped a huge pool into our property to pump the water and essentially saved my home but I lost the cabin and 2 other buildings. And 60 acres of beautiful property turned into black barren land.
Wishing everyone well and be safe, property can be replaced lives are important.

There are no worlds to explain looking at your house and thinking it's the end. I dealt with this during last years hurricane. Glad you and everyone's safe and praying for those effected
I just got back from Nova Scotia where the fires went through there.. its so sad. Now they cant get enough contractors to rebuild. People have started having to buy RVs and campers and are having to park them in yards of the remaining houses. Really sad situation.. gonna be a bad winter. When I was a kid the cedar fires in San Diego were wild. Burned straight through the suburbs, my families house was OK but some of my friends that lives on the other side of town where the fire first hit woke up to the fire department telling them to leave their house because their yard was already on fire. They couldn’t get any photos or anything and this was before the time of digital copies. My friend got family photos from the fire department that there we’re getting off of peoples walls. This one fireman was collecting mass photos from houses that were currently on fire he had to escape through the roof of one house and jumped off with a handful of photos there’s news articles about it. He did this house to house was saving anything that looked on replaceable.

Glad everyone is safe, your house is safe, the cars are safe. Living in the foothills of Northern California, I know how fast fires move. During the Caldor Fire in 2021 our air quality index one day was 977. It was so hazardous, all windows shut, towels under the doors, air purifiers running at top speed showing 100% polluted air in the house. Go bags at the ready, thankfully we didn't need to evacuate, but it was still hell.
I am happy your home is still there. Hopefully I am that lucky thanks for uploading videos every day it helps
The story about the firefighters losing their homes makes this even more sad. I hope someone sets up a fund for them to help them out because it's the least we can do to help out those who risk their lives to save other people and their homes.

What a lot of us Aussies do during bushfires, put a water sprinkler on the roof of what you want to protect, or a hose on spray and chuck on roof. Surprisingly it can often be the difference between saving something or total loss.

Devastating news. Those shots when you were looking out the front and you couldn't even see the lake. Scary scary stuff. Been from Australia, I can relate fires are no joke and can turn deadly in a heartbeat. You did the right thing getting out early.
