So it’s an Austin. They’re an old reliable builder. I played there once about 40 years ago for a choir on tour. Their organist was from Westminster Choir a school and had to grit his teeth to get thru each Sunday. They had a 29 tank Wicks, put in as a “temporary” fix till they raised the money to get a real instrument. Those ranks were voiced absolutely raucous, and with extremely high wind pressures. The first thing he did was have the service company remove all Principals from the crescendo pedal and SFZ! So glad they finally got something befitting the space.
Now _that's_ an organ!

Fantastisch 👌👍👏 Bravo
Super Video von Paul Fey 👌👍👏
Herrliche Musik Paul. 👍🏻👌👏
Beautiful fanfare Paul! We have a lovely Austin in my hometown!
Wow sehr schön
WONDERFUL! I am glad that the tubas didn't go out of tune while you were there. My organ teacher (Dr. Lawrence P Schreiber) commissioned Austin to build this organ in the English/French style. Very much different from when designed the organ in National City Christian. He also wrote a fanfare for the Trompette En Chamade in 2013.
Awesome, mellow trumpets! Sometimes, they are not as pleasant as these!
Oh, lieber Paul.
Thank you so much for sharing and taking us on your amazing organ adventures Paul!!!🤩🎹🎵🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

Great performance of this magnificent organ.
Große Begeisterung. Vielen Dank Paul Fey !!!!
Glorious!
Thanks for these moments of joy.
In your second life you would probably have gone among the brass players? Bravo for videography and piece!👌
This organ is absolutely heavenly in sound. The brilliance of the pipes makes this Widor piece so magnificent. The Organist, bravo master at his playing sir. Much brilliance. I enjoyed your brilliant and magnificent performance. Bravo, Bravo
Thank you so much!!
Bravo, Paul! I attended one of the opening concerts for this organ, and there was considerable talk at the time about Austin creating a romantic, "symphonic" instrument, closer to their work in the 1930s than anything they had done recently. However, I was disappointed, and the dead room is certainly a big part of the problem. It just seemed "ordinary", and not very warm. A fine fanfare, Dear Paul! 😁🐧
The organ's initial design was to be a modern symphonic/romantic instrument. Lon Schreiber originally wanted to have Schoenstein to build an entirely symphonic organ based off of the large Kimball organs such as Saint John's Cathedral in Denver Colorado. Then, Austin came along with proposition of a larger organ with more "variety" such as two tubas (Tuba Major, Tuba Sonora), and using many extensions from the pedal to create a green division (Resonance Division). It is better to hear the organ during Sunday service rather than a recital, because for some reason organists seem to be afraid of this instrument while it is little tamer than Lon's other creation at National City Christian. Also, Austin did revoice the instrument a few times after it was dedicated so it should sound warmer in the building. (Unless the temperature wreaks havoc on organ)
Nice piece Paul. Thank you.
Quel talent !
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I would be *honored* to hear this in person! 😃 Please play more loud C Major chords!
Beautiful.
I cannot stop listening to this piece as I find it totally thrilling.Would go very well as processional music! Well done Paul. You are an amazing organist. Keep up the good work and thank you for your videos.
Just awesome 😊
I would love to play this mighty pipe organ too.
Amazing
What authority!!!!!
Bravo! Fantastic Paul!
Thank You Paul❤
Wow!!!!
You should definitely make and publish CD/vinyl/metal (type IV) cassette albums! I would definitely buy some! You should also do concerts!
Grandios!
Dankeschön 😀
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
👌
Wish I could have the opp to play one!
Interesting to note one or two comments about 'deadness' and 'underwhelming' and then about recital v Sunday Service. Yes. Perhaps we might say there is 'something missing' when we highlight or perform en chamade.
Nothing to do with the organist or composition ( as you wonderfully show!). It's more like the wet v dry acoustic on Hauptwerk and an often hollow and unfortunate bombarde / chamade recipe which can temper the show. Perhaps I'm too picky. I am a real fan of the full range of reeds on offer worldwide.
Oh goody. 118 ranks of penguins are awaiting to march in royal fanfares.
… das letzte Mal vor der Sommerpause ist Chor… 🙁😃
Allen viel Freude beim zuhören, ich werde mal wieder später hören, aber sicherlich nicht weniger begeistert sein🐧🐧👍🏻🐧🐧

🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧
That's funny! I like that!
Amazing!!! I’m here wiping away a few tears for how awesome the sound and performance was ❤️
I’ve been wondering watching 2 pieces tonight, does your iPad listen to where you are in the sound, just it just keep up with the timing, or do you do a head movement that advanced the sheet music?
Paul do you know how many pipes there are?
Sounds like: Texas our Texas
Air Raid!
Ah yes, the only good thing about being in DC! Seeing those wonderful organs! I definitely don’t want to see corrupt politicians when I’m there!
Thanks Paul - Sure its a nice & very big organ but for example compared to that magnificent 1868 Henry Erben organ at Old St Patricks in NY city the sound of this huge 118 rank organ in that space is underwhelming and as other commentator below has written it sounds 'ordinary' and not special. Your composition and your playing are superb..
Unfortunately the acoustics in the room are a bit dry. That doesn't help the sound of the organ, but the organ is pretty darn good.
Sounds like someone is playing a trumpet besides the organ 😂👌
Very nice trumpets! From now on, you will crave 5-manual consoles even for Hauptwerk 😭
Oh. the Philippine flag close to the chamades 🇵🇭🥹
