Easy to understand why Bach called the organ the king of all the instruments. One of my favorite pieces played on one of my favorite organs in the world. Thank you Paul.
Listen to that historic fiery reeds❤️❤️❤️, you can’t help but fall in love with it endlessly. Much so they seems like to have awakened from a deep slumber to announce their majestic arrival & presence. Truly, you give so much joy & enjoyment also big justice to the historic instrument and to other organs to highlight & showcase their beauty & innateness.
Wunderbar!
Moving and lovely. I once climbed the bell tower there, but what stands out in my memory is the astronomical clock. During my visit, the grand organ was silent.

Super gespielt, as always!
Excellente, very good, bravo once again, organiste me too à Strasbourg I know very well this organe with Marc Bauman et Robert the thing you play very well and you respect Marc-Antoine Charpentier i knowing in the chapelle royale of Versailles rue Chapuis once again bravo very very good interprétation Philippe Dubois
Thank you for recording this wonderful piece and for playing it so beautifully. You brought out the majesty of the music and the superb acoustics of the cathedral. You are a very talented young man.
Absolutely magnificent Paul. Thank you for sharing. This is Tte only way I can see these great churches and organs and of course especially to hear you playing. Take care!
Well, I‘m loving that piece. While studying options for piano and classical guitar (not being an organ expert) I have consulted lots of interpretations. This one is the best found to give it the right speed and majestic glance, while on solo guitar you need to hold the line by tricking around. Well done - thank you!
Boah Respekt, tönt grossartig! 🤩👏 1A.. 🫠🥰 Grosses Kompliment!! 🏆 Grüässli aus der Schweiz 👋😊
Fascinating. It feels / sounds as though Charpentier - here - has composed in the Fey style with reeds and chunky pedals in martial procession. Good for him. A good time had by all. Urlaub?
Jesus Christ! THAT is the EXACT organ and the EXACT piece that Ms.Diane Bish played! She played it on D major with Trumpet but I love your solo version too because this shows more taste of the Silbermann organ. BRAVO!👍👍👍👏👏👏
Your skill and talent on the organ shines through and also in videography and sound editing as that film was very beautiful. Thanks for shining a bright light of joy with that piece.
@@PaulFey Thanks. Listening again to this upload I was struck by how similar this organ (which is essentially a 1716 Silbermann rebuilt and updated 1981 by Kern) sounds to the 1770 Clicquot organ in St Roch Paris which was rebuilt updated in 1842/1881 by Cavaille Col. If you ever get to play it again please consider some Balbastre as his grand bombastic music would sound so good in that acoustic. St Roch was were Balbastre was titular organist and his music and playing style was so popular people all over Paris stopped going to other churches and came to St Roch. Eventually the Archbishop forbade him from playing at St Roch.
Wow, what an amazing place! It's sandstone construction means a rather dry acoustic. But what get from that is very prompt, clear speech which you've captured very well. And mechanical action, that's an instant win in my book.! I would love to see you in the UK some day.
One of my favorite pieces of music, and you played it flawlessly!! It's a good thing that you and I are NOT neighbors because I'd be a real pest always asking you to "play something for me". You are such a joy to listen to. I have very little musical talent myself so I have to depend upon people like yourself for my "daily fix" for music. Although I can't play much, I have been professionally restoring reed (pump) organs since I was in High School (centuries ago now) and wonder what you could do on such a "lowly" instrument. I'd bet you could work miracles on a two or three rank, one manual foot pumped organ too. Would love to hear that. Thank You for sharing your talent with us.
Such a grandiose sound from this organ today, Paul. I enjoyed your videography outside the church too. Beautiful sound and video today. I'm glad you had the opportunity to visit this cathedral.
I didn't read the title of the video, and as soon as it started, I thought, those buildings looking very Alsatian! Magnificent introduction and video filming and editing. It's like you took us on a visit with you. I particularly loved seeing the bellows movement (I think that is what that was).
Amazing!!! I sit here watching this for 2 hours straight, trying to imagine being there to not only hear, but also FEEL the sound. I absolutely love it and hope to get a chance to experience this live at least once in my life.
This organ is just right for Charpentier's Te Deum, excellent distinctive bass and other stops change the game! Of course, the common sense rendition is crucial here, because we have the pleasure to listen to you, Paul. Besides, this version sounds much better than the one you play on your home electronic hauptwerk, it's really "maestoso" here. God bless you🙂
Beautiful
