  • Chinese cabbage stew is basically putting together Chinese cabbage with some meat and make it into a stew, allowing the naturally sweetness from the cabbage goes into the stew. Very simple but very hearty dish for your family.

    Chinese Cabbage Stew
    Ingredients:
    1 small bowl of sliced pork belly
    1 traditional tofu, cut into small chunks
    ½ of Chinese cabbage, cut into chunks
    1-2 cloves of chopped garlic
    Some chopped ginger
    1 small bowl of dried fried bean-curd
    1Good amount of green bean noodles (冬粉)
    1 bowl of chicken stock (1 teaspoon of Ah Pa’s chicken powder mix with hot water)
    Some chopped spring onion (to garnish)
    Seasonings:
    1 teaspoon of 13 spice powder
    1-2 tablespoons of light soy sauce
    A little bit of Shao Hsing cooking wine
    Few drops of Ong Ky premium fish sauce
    1 tablespoon of oyster sauce
    Pinch of salt
    Pinch of sugar

    There was a take away place near by that did a similar dish. They used black fungus, tofu skin, celery and potato starch noodles.
    Use order it weekly for a few years, but since they closed it's been hard to find the exact recipe to try and recreate it.
    Yours seems pretty close with the seared pork belly before stewing and the green bean noodles so deffinately going to give it a go! Thanks for the video 👍🏻

    Quick crock pot dump alternative shrew
    = 1x Narcissus canned-Food - Pork Leg with Mushroom
    = 2x GuLong canned-food - stewed pork slice (want the oily and the skin)
    = cut dump the long white to stew
