Crabbing from Shore, using CHICKEN AND STRING- South Florida Blue Crab

I wanted to post a quick video of some old school chicken and string crabbing from the shoreline. I went out during early April and caught some crabs from the local dock. It was so much fun, as alway. Enjoy the topless trap portion of this video as well.

cotton ring trap... replace the cheap three strings that make triangle with masonary twine... floats on each string...3-4 oz pyramid centered on bottom....50 ft nylon rope...you can cover some serious ground off docks with those setups as you can chuck em super far

Good stuff. Been crabbing that area a lot lately. Definitely seen a drop off lately. Still good to see the juvies. Great sign. Wondering what this deluge of rain will do and the releases from lake O.

I've seen a significant drop off since December. Its been pretty crappy for a few months. Fingers crossed it picks up soon.
