For people having trouble finding the "Connect" app after installing the option feature, Windows 11 renamed it to "Wireless Display" (as of 7/31/23). My Galaxy Note S22+ bottom half of screen is black after a drop so this is helping me until I get a new phone. Thanks for the help.
Thank you. I just want to add that if you try installing this and it fails, that means you may be connected to a metered connection. Go to the wifi settings of the wifi you are connected to and turn off "Metered connection" and try installing again. You should turn metered connection back on after as it helps to save your browsing data subscription by preventing auto downloads of windows updates and so on. Cheers!
i am useing windos 11 and i follow all the instruction by you but when i go to the projection setting it show " your divice dosen"t support miracast, so you can't project wirelessly" so what m i do now? please replay me..
The video is very instructive, and it helped me connect my pc to my android cell phone. But however, it depends on the type of windows 11 you have, and after installing the feature, you can locate it also in the search bar with the name of "Wireless Display" and follow the steps. Another way to locate the feature after installing, it is by clicking on the windows logo and you will see it under the recommended, recently added option. I hope this advice will help you a lot.
Thank you, it was helpful. Note: I search for "optional feature" in settings rather than finding it by myself. After this set up it is quicker process.
You are awesome explaining. It worked kind of. My samsung 21 ultra mirrors onto my laptop except when i play a movie from an app like hulu or prime. I only get sound from the laptop. Any idea why?
I followed all the steps, but for some reason, when I try to use the miracast on my phone, that's built in it. doesn't show up. like the software setup on the computer. But when I try to use miracast, it doesn't show the name i would need to connect for screenshare.
I´ve got a pixel 4a and when I open the cast settings on my phone no devices are shown even though my computer connect app si running, any suggestions as pixel phones are a bit different?
I've followed all of the steps, but when I click "cast" on my tablet, it doesn't find my computer... Do you know how I could fix this? Thank you for the video!
You can, at least on my display, move the Black off the screen to the right or the left. It is acting like you are moving it to a second screen but you don't have to have a second screen active. That at least solves half of the problem and gives you more available screen for another app. Now I have a 75" screen so I can get the phone part pretty large. You may have to fiddle with the way the system reacts to the move it may make it smaller but you can get it pretty large if you have enough real estate.
hi, it work for me now but i have some problem. after connected, how do i use pc's cursure to control pc's monitor, now cursure of pc.. it control for phone only
Oh, this is brilliant! However, Moto G8 Plus isn't showing the laptop's device name. It's on the same Network. Laptop is ready to connect. But the cast screen to a device on my mobile isn't showing another device's name. What to do?
I am using a Google Pixel 7 which uses "Cast" as its option for screen sharing. It's only showing my Google Home as an option. I also connected my phone to my computer using Bluetooth to see if that would resolve the issue but it did not. Does anyone have a resolution (no software, or only software from Google/Microsoft)
I'm having a pixel 7A, but my phone is not detecting my laptop as a wireless display. I'm able to connect to my TV, but Laptop is not showing. any solution for this?
I got through all the steps, but for reason, my devices won't connect. The phone sits there with an endless wheel spinning "Searching for devices....." Even when I go to list of devices and find my computer, and try to connect, it just sits there endlessly "connecting......" until it just suddenly shows me "No nearby devices found." None of this stuff ever works for me, I just don't know why.
The mirroring works, but I can't seem to be able to allow input from my mouse and keyboard. I can use my arrow, shift, ctrl, enter keys to do some operations but it's really clunky. I keep getting a notification that I can allow input in the Action Center > Connect but that option is nowhere to be seen
i am having this exact same issue, and my devices will connect but the mirroring doesn't show my phone's actions at all. it's just frozen otherwise. not sure what's going on with that.
i have a motorola and i cant download miracast and my phone cant seem to find my laptop to cast to and it can only cast to other google devices so it wont let me connect to cast.
does it allow you to interact with your phone with the keyboard and mouse? or is it just image mirroring? If not then sadly using usb software is still better. But amazing tutorial nonetheless

If you have a Pixel phone, it won't show up since Pixels don't support the same protocol that Windows does for screen mirroring.

HI!
if there anything like this, but visa-versa, to use phone as a second screen. Also without any external apps?
Thanks!!
this video was so helpful, now it's INSTALLED on my pc :D
Is Google Pixel phones supported?
Thank you.
Thanks for the video. Is there a way to remove the black background? Maybe there's some app that can cast to avoid it? Or a Windows app?
You can, at least on my display, move the Black off the screen to the right or the left. It is acting like you are moving it to a second screen but you don't have to have a second screen active. Does mirroring require an internet connection? I try mirroring and it doesn't work. Just loads until it resets the search.
