I use to learn from watching the tournament fishermen but those days are gone. Now if I want to learn I come to TH-cam where I can see what the anglers are doing and have it explained to me. TH-cam channels are much more time efficient and I’m not watching guys watch their live scope.

Here is my concern - it is about the management of the fisheries. Tournament fishing puts huge pressure on fish populations as it is. You need to look at this from the bigger picture. Right now this stuff is expensive - wait until it is affordable and see what could happen. If you think this is bad now for the professional fisherman, wait until people realize just how bad this is going to be down the road on the fisheries.
If you think about it, I feel the BPT has the best solution, for at least next year, regarding scopeadoping. 1 of the 3 periods to scope will make it very interesting. I’m curious to see how the dominant scopers do when made to actually fish!
The electronic companies should just start a new program where they send all anglers AirTags to tag every fish with so after a few years you can just pull up to the lake and open your laptop and see where all the fish are so we can cut out having to ride around the lake spot lighting them
Each year when BASS brings in the 9 new FFS rookies, that 73% “no FFS” percentage will slowly change as the old pro’s get bumped out of the 100 angler field.
You’re doing what Randy does. 73% wanted STRICTER regulation, not ffs to be banned. The majority do NOT want it banned. You are right that as the younger anglers advance, the anti numbers will go down.
Veterans need to start another bass tournament of their own and fishing bassmasters where FFS isn't allowed send a message to other tournament that it won't be tolerated

This isn't hard to understand ... pros entry fees don't pay the bills for BASS, the big money sponsors do so of course that's who they pay attention to. And yes I know the pros are the personalities guys who don't really have a life and watch fishing on tv ... lol ...are ones they come to see but BASS knows that the pros aren't going anywhere no matter what they do so it's not hard to ignore them

The pros finally got filled up with the BS, Then they started MLF, and they screwed it up. That was the best thing going and then stupid decisions were made by the stock holders(fisherman)
Question. If you sign a contract with a company to participate in their organization, don't you agree to abide by the rules of that company? If you don't want to abide by the rules, don't sign the contract. Go someplace where you can do they way you want.
I was watching a show today and it started showing the fishing show with the fisherman throwing top water baits, and catching some nice fish. Then all of a sudden, it switched to FFS fishing and was not going back to the real fishing. So I turned it off!!!!
The organizations not listening as much to pros and instead choosing to pander to that 25% is a pretty significant clue that most of the money generated nowadays must be coming from livescope and boat manufacturers, rather than from interest and views generated by big name pros. Not really sure this is ever going to change back, but at the very least these organizations could start investing in their own social media more to generate interest similar to how more individual pros are doing with their careers
Bassmaster and MLF are probably being paid to make sure the cheater boxes stay legal. Garmin, Lowrance and Hummingbird don’t want their big money makers illegal even if it’s dumbing down the sport. Corporations and spoiled brats will strip talent out of fishing just like they did in car racing.
Hi Randy, This is not a popular view, but the reality is that these guys are not professional anglers. If you have to pay to fish, you are certainly not a professional. Is there any other sport that requires the athletes to pay to play. No, they are paid whether they win or lose. The elites and BPT are just at a higher level than the other tours regarding payout in tournaments and there entry fees are higher as well. I agree with you, these organizations need to eliminate entry fees at the top level. However, I think sponsors realize that the tours don't provide the exposure they used to, social media is a better choice to get their products in front of their potential customers. I think the future of the elites and BPT tours is a bit sketchy right now.
1. The pros need to organize, something like PGA but not exactly like it. This organization needs to set guidelines for who is qualified to hold a PRO Qualification. They can then enter into a contract with a series and they have to guarantee entry for the Pros that are qualified. 2. The amount of turnover in the Elite series and the other one is absurd. Maybe the field is too big. 3. FFS is worse than laser range finders in golf. It needs to go away from pro fishing entirely. The young guys who are good at it will be fine. These are gifted anglers and they mechanically skilled anglers that would adapt.
Randy- The bottom line is that they know exactly what they’re doing. They’re trying to change the sport to be driven by technology and electronics. There’s more money in that, and they’re eventually going to weed out the entry-level, middle-class anglers. They’re only going to be looking for a super high-end sport, and all your little local trails will become irrelevant. They don’t want anglers; they want the money, the results, and to showcase big catches at any cost. Tradition, ethics, and sportsmanship are all being thrown out the window. I wish Ray Scott were still alive, because if he were, he wouldn’t tolerate this. But you know what? Maybe there needs to be another Ray… I’m coming!
I used to be a big follower of BASS and avid reader of their magazines. But back when they tried to turn the organization into a copy of NASCAR I stopped following it all together. Its been years since i watched any of the Classic weighins or opened a copy of Bassmaster Magazine.
BASSMASTER…….. main goal is to get rid of the older guys and get the video game players in! It’s ALL REVENUE $$$$ who gives a 💩 about the guys that put bassmaster on the map🤬

There is not much the average guy can do to stop this craziness . Except to not watch it and not support it or be a member of it . I'm 65 and live to fish . I fish almost everday sometimes . I put limits on myself to preserve what I think fishing should be . And hope the new breed doesn't ruin the fishery
Nope. Vandam is avid about FFS. He said he embraces all of the technologies and believes it is the most potent learning tool. His boat is outfitted by Humminbird and MEGA and wants more technology in the future.
It's just simply boring. Used to love watching the pro tournies. Now I can't get past a few minutes of watching someone play what's more of a VR video game than real fishing.
BTW, continually using inflammatory language and referring to the completely legal FFS systems as "the cheater's box" is an extreme slap in the face to the thousands of us recreational anglers who don't give a damn about destructive fishing practices known as 'tournament fishing" and use FFS to enhance our limited fishing time to catch more fish. Given the extreme numbers of bass killed in EVERY live well tournament ever held I think it's time we start referring to them for what they are: Bass Slaughter Events. So from now on, every time you use the term ' cheater box' when referring to FFS in one of your videos I will be commenting about tournaments and referring to them for what they are: Bass Slaughter Events, we'll see how you like that for your beloved tournaments ...

Leagues are a business. A successful business doesn’t have the model of catering to the anglers, especially since most anglers are pre Madonna’s.
