I’m very glad your videos are coming out before I order these parts.
I am glad to hear. I hate to see people get junk!
me too i was planning to buy some of those parts myself. i just got myself a WPL-C24 and loving it.
In my C24 I put hobbywing 1060 and 13g metal steering servo and a flysky gt3c, going to put the dual speed in it as well!
your mods are making this truck more and more interesting to me
Yeah it definitely looks the part but still isn't working well.
Now it's starting to look like a proper crawler
JG RC I might be hosting a wpl c24 buildoff in mid September
That could be cool given the ingenuity needed for these aftermarket mish mash of parts.
Honestly I think you are having way to much fun.
I am glad that is how it looks! Hah!
@@AMPROEngineering I do know some rc vehicles can be a pain to work on. Lol
I have the axle link mounts(?) and links in the mail. I completely forgot about the shocks.... Something else to figure out. Thanks for going over all of this in detail.
Yeah I know...still a problem here for me.
I think I might have figured out what is going on. Buying only the official WPL branded parts, if you buy the combo kit of the axle truss and links, they give you extra cups to run the stock shocks (lower mounts). I bought the axle truss and links separately, and it would appear in the pictures that they provide extra link ends to use on the bottom of the stock shocks... I guess Ill see how that goes when I get the parts.
I ended up buying some SSD m3 rod ends. That fixed it for me. But then I forgot about the steering when I aluminum knuckles. I just used the same SSD rod ends and made my own rod to make the drag link.
McMaster is a lifeline. Will be watching for your soft spring swap.
Yes it is.
😊👍man you hooking this thing up!
Shen RC see Steve what I was talking about with this rig, this is why I was thinking of doing a buildoff with these
Its coming along but still not great...
Greetings. Researching the best way to install the rods. Imma reverse my screws. I have the screw head on the outside. As I type I’m upgrade to full metal also. Great video on the C24 upgrade. Sub.
This is a good call. Some of the "upgrades" out there for these are so poorly engineered.
Cute shocks lol. Cool little truck.
Thanks, hope I can get it sorted
AMPRO Engineering your videos inspire me to work on my rc stuff. I'm in the process of rebuilding a orginal gold pan rc 10 buggy. I'm still messing with the mountineer also. Nice sand scorcher on the opening of your videos. 👍👍
You’re unstoppable! Looking forward seeing how it turns out.
Nordic RC Visions hey was thinking of doing this one for one of the buildoffs, maybe mid September
Thank you!
I’ve gotta do this to mine when I build it for the wpl c24 buildoff coming in mid September
Oh nice! Just be careful, these upgrade kits can be bad.
Great stuff! They do full aluminium axles for these. They look great but cost more than the truck itself. I've got the c14 version of this.
Yeah I saw that but man are they pricey!
One about the the tiny crawlers you learn to be patient.Well sometimes lol. What a bummer the blue shocks would not work.Still a nice little build tho.
Very true. My irritation comes in due to the lack of design care and effort put in to these after market parts.
Nice project y wait result of speed tracción and suspention good video.😀👍
Thank you! I am still unhappy with the shock choice but we will keep working on it.
Dude I love your stuff! Because of you I've turned my 25 year old Monster racer into a reliable track and back yard basher. I added the stealth and it's ridiculously awesome. I bet with a better driver it's still do well in club racers. Are you looking at offering more products for the Avante cars? Maybe some stuff for the Top Force series???
Man I love hearing stuff like that. I am so happy my work has brought back old cars! I also love that stealth conversion. Nothing for the avante yet and I do not own a Top Force so nothing for that guy yet either.
you do not think the center of gravity is too high. I think to weigh down the bridges or to double the rear wheels to gain width. what do you think ?
I think that is a valid concern. I use this as a trail truck so it isn't an issue but as a crawler it could compromise the handling. Weighing down the axles is a very good idea as long as you upgrade them with metal gears.
@@AMPROEngineeringthank you for the advice, I think rather broaden the bridges by putting waves. I also thought of putting some weight in the wheels, but I'm afraid of forcing too much on the transmission. I like what you do, you are not afraid to try anything. keep on going
The link Mount things are called axle trusses
Oh that's right! Thanks!
Will the shapeways drama affect you? I’m sure I’ll be purchasing more in the future, I love my hornet cage.
Sadly yes. I had 5200 parts on my store there and suddenly, all income from there is gone. I am working on alternatives but its bad. Thanks man
@@AMPROEngineering I didn’t mean to rub salt, my apologies
you installed it wrong bro..but it works so thats kool!
What was installed wrong?
I bought the sam blue and silver shocks. I dont know how to mount them and i dont like them at all. I found a better set with aluminum shock mounts.
I just saw the new ones you are talking about. I also got those and they are great
@@AMPROEngineering nice ill order them one day. They need to be better the those blue and silver ones
Please gentlemen, would you be so kind to provide a link for said shocks? :)
I was just chilling at home, drinking a mug of coffee when it struck me...
What if you designed a 3D printed body for the WPL? Not demanding for you to make it necessarily but i was just thinking how well it’d work, how durable it’d be, and how it’d look.
It would work well but take me weeks to do as I do not have the skill to make shapes like that. Cost on the other hand would be very manageable so maybe it is worth looking at pre-made STL's of bodies.
AMPRO Engineering I bet people would go crazy over some bodies for it!
800 dollars for 1 piece its ok.no problem. RIGHT.
Yeah, it's a lot.
Thank you for your informative videos. I’m building one of these. I’m using a cheap 10 amp esc from eBay. It seems like the wheel speed is fast even at full slow. It’s like the motor kicks in at 1/4 throttle. Nothing slower. . Is that an esc problem? Esc DOES work btw..
Thanks! hmmm...some kind of glitch?
instaBlaster...
I was putting together the little trailer. It did come with directions, if you want to call them directions. The directions make you more confused!! It's just a simple trailer. But they make it so confusing. Lost patience and gave up. I'll try again later.
I know what you mean. The ones on the Kit C12 are awful too!
yup, its all why I stayed the cheepo route on these things, other than N20 N30 geared motors and casings. the bodies are sure nice, but they're really lacking when it comes to suspension and suspension options, darnit.
Yeah, I agree. They are so close to a solid little truck too.
Get the 2speed tranny. It is more then worth the money 370 motor heavy plastic gears .
Thank you for your informative videos. I’m building one of these. I’m using a cheap 10 amp esc from eBay. It seems like the wheel speed is fast even at full slow. Like it’s not “fine tuned” enough to really go slow. Is that an esc problem? Esc DOES work btw.
Hmmmm, I don't know. Mine seems to go very slow when I ask them to (i have several of them) and have not noticed any anomalies but these are very cheap so who knows.
Ok thanks!
6:00 i was thinking just run the m2 ball stud all the way through then nut it on the inside or was that ball stud too short to poke out the other side of the lower link mount?
I thought of that too but it is too short.
FIRST! As always, great video.
Thank you!
los productos los pueden enviar a colombia?
Yes it is all from aBay, just make sure the seller ships globally.
will the little shocks fit on without new drag links
They will not sadly
please do a motor upgrade too
It is getting a 2 speed.
Eh, I think I will just do a 2 speed instead of changing the motor. It is way too fast right now.
Has any one i stalled the leaf spring and shackle kit on a c24 kit yet? I bought the kit
Are those the stock parts from the Russian military versions?
@@AMPROEngineering i dont know . bought them on ebay from China. Says fits b14 c14 c24 etc
Most likely they came from the other versions of that chassis. They are pretty good actually.
@@AMPROEngineering they are cool but do not fit my c24. Ill put them on the front of my 6x6. And use the other set for spair parts
Hello where do I find the rims you had on the front.
These are Ampro wheels. I will have a link in an upcoming video to my shapeways store with them in there.
@@AMPROEngineering OK thanks.
i found some pictures that show how it all installed
Roger Smith link it then please
Oh cool! Lemme see!
those front rims? where did you get them? please.
These are Ampro designs. Ill have a video on them soon!
Anyone know where I can get a set of 40mm scale internal spring shocks found on the 1/18 RC4WD Gelande II? I cannot find them anywhere online or local hobby shops in the US or abroad. Need for a project.
I have the same problem. I am looking for those too.
you got pics hehe.
Ill check!
So how did you determine how long you links needed to be? I started by measuring my stock one and they're way off.
Oh yeah it was a giant pain. I started by making them as short as possible and backing them off until they fit. It was horrible and needlessly complicated.
@@AMPROEngineering what about making them stock length and going from there? I spent 4 hours on it and have never been so irritated in my life.
I totally hear you. That is a good idea too. Start with everything the same lengths (sets I mean, like the outers the same and the inners the same).
Thanks so much your videos saved me i couldn't have done it without your help. I finally got the front figured out. Were the back uppers hard to bend on your 2 speed?
i like those rimms but not paying 50 dollars.
These are Ployjet printed, not molded.
WPL is short of wan pi long
means "naughty dragon " in Chinese
Oh this explains the dragon image! Thank you so much. I will mention this in a video.
It's an expensive toy at this point . Lmao did you run with the e revo shocks at all
Oh thats the truth. No i didnt but now they make some new shocks that I am considering though I think the spring rate is too high.
Link pz
Sorry man, like i mentioned, I got them all over the place. Bang good and ebay worked well for me.
Where you get the links at?
I sell alot of the parts you purchased and installed. Also no offense but my parts are better quality and better engineered. If anyone is interested I am a member of the wpl rc group on Facebook and have a lot of my items listed
Also I include instructions with pictures even.
I will take a look. No offense taken. either. Some parts are great (knuckles and axle upgrades but others awe awful. Have you located acceptable shocks? In the next episode you will see what I did (same shock, softer spring and different mounts but spring is still too stiff).
I was trying to figure out how to send you a pic through here. I have taken 24"X12" 3/4 Aluminum plate and used a cnc to drill 1/8th holes in it in a grid. This way it's easy to keep parts like a chassis square by using dowels. I have thought about selling them. I will try to post it as a pic or video on my account.
Mayank
Thanks!
You need a 3d printer.
I have thought of it but shapeways is so cheap and I don't have to maintain, store or deal with anything. Maybe one day.
@@AMPROEngineering Well if you do I highly suggest this one www.amazon.com/Monoprice-Select-Mini-Printer-Assembled/dp/B073ZLSMFT/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1546705106&sr=8-3&keywords=monoprice+mini+v2,
We make so many parts for our cars with this you wouldn't believe but, you do need to have a basic ability to 3d model with Fusion 360, Blender or any 3d modeling program.
Dude get the 2speed!! If you don't love it I will pay for it.
I have three of them, haha.
