    I would tighten the lower one first to create a bigger gap for the gasket on the upper. That and slightly lifting while the wife slipped in the gasket worked great. No risk of cracks or bends using a floor jack.

    Thanks for telling how it's capable of adjusting the pressure. They don't tell you that in any description or video I've seen.

      Welcome! Actually, in my very first home, I hired a plumber to install a new one, and he did just that. Did not make any adjustments, nor check the pressure afterwards :/

    Keep it simple but efficient. Thumbs up.

    Thx for the video. Did both new washers come with the new valve? It appears that it only comes with one on the Amazon link.

    Thanks for the video. Did you use any teflon tape?

    • @JamesFixIt
      @JamesFixIt  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello, in this case, the threads do not create the water-tight seal, so no teflon tape is needed. The rubber gaskets create the water-tight seal.

    If you have a slight leak do you need to shit off the main water before tightening them up?

    • @JamesFixIt
      @JamesFixIt  ปีที่แล้ว

      If it’s a compression fitting, you can simply tighten things up and the leak should stop. -that’s only if your gaskets are good. You’ll need to shut off the water only if you are replacing a gasket. Hope that helps!

    My plumbing inspection report stated that the pressure reducing valve needs to be replaced and that it's outside the home in an irrigation box in the ground. As long as I can get that pressure reducing valve exposed and accessible, will the replacement process basically be the same? If it's running horizontally rather than vertically (like yours), will that change anything?

    • @JamesFixIt
      @JamesFixIt  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, it will be the same process. You will need to figure out the direction of flow, and once you match that with the new unit, it should be a straightforward installation 👍🏽 good luck!

    Are there any prv on the market that will allow pressure back flow to the city so that you don’t need an expansion tank for the hot water tank? One that allows an open system for back pressure instead of a closed system

      Good question, but I am not familiar with any PRV like that. I am looking to install an expansion tank soon, but will also do some research regarding back pressure. Thanks!

      I beieve the Zurn Wilkins nr3xl has an integral bypass that allows backpressure greater than city pressure to flow back. Make sure to call Zurn Wilkins to confirm.
