That was a fantastic test. Thank you for all the effort you put into that. I just bought a used UTV that has been sitting out for a while. I have been thinking about what i would use to clean it for a month. You saved me a ton of time and effort.
Great test video! Been using Mother's Back to Black for about a year after watching a how-to YT video on cleaning SxS's. Works great on every surface including seats & tires but does hold a little dust that blows away on the trailer. $10 per can though...I use a full can after every ride. No wiping necessary.
Amazing job! I oversee a nonprofit volunteer EMS that may be getting donated a 2010 Ranger to make into a rescue vehicle with a medical slide-in skid unit. Should know in a week or so after their board meeting. We cover a lot of motocross racing so dust is huge. The UTV is badly faded so that will be a job on its own! I saw some videos that are entirely sold on SC1 only. This comparison test helped a lot! Thanks for all your effort to show a fair test.
Enjoyed the testing results. Armor All has been a go to product for me for years. If there is something better, I'm open to it so keep trying more products, please. What I have been wondering is if graphene or cerakoting might be a better...although more expensive...option. Would love you to comparison test those.
Love the video, bro. Thanks for this! It's funny I always heard Armor All dried out the plastics quicker. Now I know. I currently use Chemical Guys Silk Shine on my plastics. I really like it. Easy on. Great shine. It does seem to come off with each wash. But that could be user error too 😂😂
Just seeing this video. Very thorough test for the products you used. I have a bunch of Armorall and will start using it on my new SxS. I quit using on the inside of my trucks years ago just because I did not like that shiny look. But, for my SxS it will be great. Thanks for putting this out there.
Here in the desert of SW Utah we are constantly battling dust. Pledge and generics from Walmart or the dollar store look good and are cheap but hold dust terribly. SC1 works great, but it’s really spendy and holds dust pretty badly also. Best I have found for our area is Lucas Slik Mist. Holds less dust than anything else I’ve tried and releases dirt well when washing. It’s fairly inexpensive and also looks really great. Nothing is perfect and everyone has their own favorite. 🤣🤣👍😎
I have ridden ATV for over 20 years, and here is some things I have learned. 1 oil based products like wd40, 90% of tire shines will overtime breakdown your plastics and will cause bleaching- most will say on the label avoid plastics. Armerall is a water base product so if you ride in mud and wet lands, it is quickly washed away. Silicones sprays are good but overtime the build up, and discolor plastics as well. Pledge is a water base wax, works good for dusty areas but can also build up over time unless you wash with hot water. I have just about used everything overtime and what I have found that seems to work best is rainx water repellent 2-1 exterior detail (not the glass cleaner one ) for your plastics. It works for both wet or dry conditions. Now the undercarriage is a different story, wd40 causes dry dirt and dust caking, and water will break it down. I have found using silicone protection spray ( not lubricant) will protect the underside and make it easier to clean and won’t cause caking because it drys unlike lubricants. Just a tid bit from my experience. Thanks.
I really hate armor all products. I use the same products on my customers vehicles than I do on my personal vehicle and toys. I noticed most armor all products are quite greasy and even worse their dashboard cleaner leaves awful residue on the windshield
This is the best testing I've seen so far. I use any cheap tire foam ,rub it in, let it sit for about an hour or more and then it wipe it dry. I think there is interior and exterior Armorall and exterior lasts longer . Going to try it. Big thanks !
Great demo man, I’ve been using WD on my 01 XR100 and it’s Been good for quick cleans but i still always coat my plastics in Maguires car wax just to finish it off.
I use peanut butter in my 250 just smother it all. I prefer the crunchy one for better grip and feel. And if you get hungry on the trail you can always scoop some from the side of the engine when it’s warm. Mud slides right off
Hello thanks for taking the time for making this video and also the money you spent on all those cleaners who have bought it really helps out a lot of people that love to go ATV and UTV just like you do I have used esc1 I find it pretty good but it doesn't seem to last I also find that the same thing with the Armor All I'd like to see you make a video with all these and try using mother's black two black this stuff is totally awesome and it's also good for colours not just black try it out let me know what you think this stuff is totally awesome thanks great video
Perl is good stuff, also ultima tire and trim works good as it actually hardens....cerakote trim stuff SUCKS eventually it starts to almost bubble and you see spots everywhere.
The reason you hear so much about using Pledge is that my Polaris Ranger owner's manual specifies "the use of common household aerosol furniture polish for polishing the finish on your Polaris vehicle." They go on to say not to use automotive products, due to the possibility of their scratching the finish. I don't know why an automotive product designed to polish a clearcoat finish would scratch the finish on plastic, but perhaps Polaris owns a share of SCJohnson. Nice job on the video.
Yup, the glossy black plastic on my dual sport scratches with automotive polishes….I use Novus plastic clean and shine for a no scratch clean. 303 protectant works great on seats, plastic trim, etc.
Thank you for taking the time and funds to do this. I have been using wd40 for years. Its cheap available everywhere and in my house always on hand. Best of all it works.
I clean all plastic with a degreaser/ cleaner then dry! As far as making it look new and keeping it protected i use a thing called pig spit! Turns grey plastics black again!
A guy at work says he uses a heat gun on his car plastics and it looks great but I would really worry about drying out the plastic. Probably cutting years off the life if the plastic is my guess.
I just went ahead and spent the money and got a four pack of SC1. ITS expensie! It did look great when i put it on. I ride in some mud. It washed off pretty good but i noticed after washing, it looked just as bad as before i put the sc1 on. Then again, I use the booty juice to wash. It has degreaser in it, so maybe it washed the sc1 off? Idk. Still figuring things out. Im looking for the best and easiest way to wash and look great. I do get my four wheeler looking awesome after riding. Just looking for the best products and taking cost of product into account. I mean the SC1 is pretty pricey!
You should try what keeps my Motorcycles Plastic like new. It's called Plexus and it expensive. I think they use it on aircraft windshields. The other product I have is Tirox Plastix which is another far cheaper Plastic Polish that works almost as good as Plexus for a much lower price and it's water based. These should work better on your Plastic. Spray on and wipe off. The automotive stuff like tire shines will have silicone in them and the sun turns it brown and it will look pretty crappy when that happens.
Mother ceramic wax works great to took my dull faded roof and turned it back to black and been sitting out side for over a year and still looks like new
I was wondering if that would make it worse, all the dirt getting washed off also ran over it. I’ve been using whatever I have around the garage, WD40 for a while or tire shine, personally I can’t justify the price of SC1
I’ve heard that too, however we have many ATC’s that we’ve been putting armorall on since the mid 80’s and have never had an issue. I don’t think armorall which came out in 1962 would still be around if drying and cracking was actually true.
That was a fantastic test. Thank you for all the effort you put into that. I just bought a used UTV that has been sitting out for a while. I have been thinking about what i would use to clean it for a month. You saved me a ton of time and effort.
Chemical guys tire shine hands down the best n cheapest.
Man, nice I been using Pledge or the store brand for over 30 years, my Polaris owners manual also says to use Pledge !
VERY informative! I was open minded (being a newbie) but have always had good luck with Armor All, so am glad you got a good result with it.
Thanks for posting I’m in Colorado too and have been using stoners trim shine forever and love it.
haha Colorado and stoners? Go Figure!
Can we all agree the real winner of this test is that blue tape!
Very thorough review. As for me, Original Armor All is and has been my go to for years.

Try meguiars ultimate black spray it holds shine good and dries and let’s dirt come off really easy
@@ethanedwards7677 Thanks, I'll check it out dude!

it leaves a matte film on the plastics. Don't use it.

303 Aerospace is the go to for a lot of folks. I do love SC1!
I have 303 and use it thought it was the best until I saw it in another comparison

Very detailed test sir, we'll done!
I just learned from an older guy furniture wood polish works well also.
The Polaris owners manual suggests furniture polish as an alternative.
Interesting, thanks for letting us know!
WD-40 works amazing especially the silicone type. Arizona Desert dirt riding.
Gotta channel with any riding videos ?
Really good video. I've used a few different ones. The Meguires interior detailer works decent but the tried and true armor all surprised me!

Because polish actually puts microscratches on plastic. It rubs the clear coat off so a new layer appears.
