The Original Tesla Model 3 was a game changing electric car. More affordable, more range, more fun and simply better than anything else on the market. But how's my experience after 5 years of ownership?

Even as a brand new Tesla owner (of a very used 2016 model S, but brought up to 2024 software/hardware standards), you CANNOT overstate the quality of the software UI... If you haven't experienced it, you have zero idea what you're missing; once you've experienced it for a month, any other car seems a joke. Simply astonishing.

Six months on, I still get a tingle when the door handles 'present' as I approach the car. I have ridden in or driven a Supra, Porsche Speedster, Ferrari 2+2... The Tesla is a spaceship in comparison. It's not even in the same category. On the freeway, diesel pickups will try to drop in front of me to 'coal roll'... Tap the accelerator and 70 mph to 100 is near instant--and I've only an S 90D... Merely mid grade 😏

I've spent many hours at Super Chargers looking at the people queuing or confused trying to use no Tesla chargers on their non Tesla cars, thats enough to keep you in a Tesla.

I keep being amazed by my Tesla Model 3 RWD that I have now had for just over 2 months. Every update has brought new features or improved how it works. The software is amazing and whilst driving, I no longer have to search for the buttons to turn up fans or change how they work. It is easy and lets my eyes watch the road ahead rather than looking down to find buttons and dials!

in anticipation of ordering my cyber truck I was inquiring about insurance rates. Some insurance companies did not cover Teslas, in my state, at all. My current company wanted to double my monthly premium. An hours worth of research and I could get coverage for a reasonable 20% increase, considering the increased cost of the vehicle. Lesson.. shop around and don't believe everything you hear. loved the video always get a good laugh.

I concur! I have a 2020 Model 3 SR+ and the only things that I’m jealous of with the newer 3s is the #1 - Subwoofer and upper speakers that work (ours don’t) , #2 - automatic trunk (I love that Tesla lets you open and close it , and the doors on the X on the screen ) #3 - lower fog lights, and that’s it, I’ve never felt I needed anything else that LR or Performance owners have (though the faster 0-60 times would blow away any other car even faster) .

Dec 2022 Model 3 now with 52K miles, I do plenty of long journeys! Its had a full set of tyres and a pair of window wiper blades, and its auto updated 10's of times to be a very different car to which I collected 18mths ago, with many new and updated functions and features. Must admit I can't wait to hit the lease milage limit so I can get my hands on a Highland version.

@@user-wc8cn7pt6m if anything a little better than the FWD Kia Niro that the Tesla replaced, I’m not sure why maybe the weight distribution and the ABS/Traction control is better in the Tesla. It’s nothing like having a RWD BMW like I’ve had in the past. No warranty issues at all. Apart from the tyres and window wipers all I’ve done is cleaned it/ washer fluid and charged it in 52k miles.

Thanks for this - very illuminating. If you're going to cover your piano gloss scratch panels go for an ABS console cover - they're super easy to apply and can be removed without damaging the shiny surface underneath. I went for a matt black - soooo much betterer.

It’s really not necessary for us to upgrade.. we have everything we need in this SR+. However, If Tesla keeps tempting me with incredible upgrades, features & improvements, who knows. Still patiently waiting to see a Y refresh… honestly thought they’d have it out by now. That, will be a truly Uncompromised family car with hopefully the internal stylings of the new 3 (and way more suitable for camping in!)

My mate has one 4 years old. He’s needed a new aircon unit and suspension works his whole bumper is badly aligned also. The quality inside isn’t good the seats are like recycled condom material more rubber than leather feeling. Trim is loose and the built quality is like something I’d expect on a budget car from 2007. Steering wheel feels cheap and ugly. Any switches or stalks feel cheap junk quality with poor design. It costs him £500 a year more to insurance than my sports car worth 3x his car and I’ve got business insurance. The paintwork quality is poor. Paint is missing in door hinge area and boot area. It’s basically built like a Lego car with every part just clipping on with the minimum amount of thought or effort. The interior can’t compete with a BMW or any German manufacturer for the same money. The premium brands are catching up now with 380 mile range in the Audi Q6 and Porsche macan. I’d rather have either of those over a Tesla for anything other than cost. Tesla is a budget car with budget build that has above average performance and efficiency and tech. It’s a strange combination but at least it provides an option and price point where you can sacrifice everything luxury about a car to trade up in terms of tech and power but then have to live with his below average build , fit and finish
