- After the somewhat disappointing Corsair MAX Keyboard that Mat reviewed in recent weeks, it appears that Corsair may have listened to some of our feedback. The K70 Core resolves some, if not all of the problems we mentioned with the MAX version. Watch our video to find out and read more here: bit.ly/3ZPabLk

I like that it's a full keyboard, and not a fashion victim mini-KB with barely anything more than letter keys. Like you need to save that bit of desktop space when you have it front of 34" monitor.
the 34" monitor doesn't take up mouse space lmao
@@TerribleGamesTV2 You are unlikely to 34" monitor on a 15" wide desk. If you have room on your desk for a 34" monitor, you have loads of space for a full size KB.
very in depth and thorough review man well done
what a great review. One of the best I’ve seen ❤
Love the variable polling option on the keyboard inputs.
had a flood localized to my room(broken pipe) and am researching replacement peripherals to get once insurance gets done paying me out in 30 years and this one caught my eye, and your review honestly sold me on it. had an original razer blackwidow and was extremely mixed on the thing in all the years I used it and this seems like a good replacement for that
Great review; if my current one breaks I'll be giving that a good look. One thing I may have missed you mention but it looks particularly easy to clean.
Thanks Quentin. It would be relatively easy to clean with a small brush and some compressed air.
Definitely sounds better than some of their more costly options over the past few years, exciting to see where they might be heading!
Nah.

Better representation of the sandy sound
Corsair seem a brand a lot of people like to bash on TH-cam. This product actually seems good.
Tech snobs are insufferable, and most of the time they don’t even test brands they are bashing, and they never criticise flaws in brands they love.
Corsair isn't bad. They're probably the most consistent of any brand and have great customer service.
@@georgejones5019 I agree, ive had to use their customer service twice and they always looked after me and didn't get rude or aggressive like some others. I have had great success with corsair over the years, and it just seems cool now to bash on them and I dont think the people doing it have even owned a corsair product.
It’s a great looking keyboard
I like Corsair, generally. However, their keyboard QA is beyond terrible.
Great review mat. Quite surprised to see Corsair taking on feedback after you hammered their max board a while ago.
Thanks mate
That is a nice implementation of RGB.
MY problem is the size. It is so small and the buttons seem SO small. I have pretty big hands/long fingers and I almost get cramps from how much I have to bend my fingers to type on this thing.
I have it right here but I think I will return it.
My God when did £90 become a Budget price ?? lol ...
Keyboard sounds good. Great customisation
awesome review
Thanks
Is it metal around the edges and back? Curious how much of it is made of plastic
Does it work with murals?
K70 Core vs K60 RGB PRO Low Profile. Who win? Thank you
2:09 did I hear that correctly
Solid review thanks. any idea if this will be available with other switches, or Reds only?
Thanks. I’m not aware of any other switches.
@@CommanderPanda weird, they normally offer at least 2-3 right? or has that changed in recent years.
@@hairsprungdutchtechnique9626no. They offer one week of use. Corsair is shit quality

waaay better than my k60 rgb pro that had chattering since day 2 and 'lower' profile keys that kept popping like flies and breaking, also sounds better
Back to basics. Well done Corsair 👍🏻
Always enjoy corsair stuff.
Saw the guitar picks on your desk, are you using your pc as a DAW? What’s the specs and DAW you are using?
I’m only very amateur in terms of music production. I use Ableton occasionally but used to use Fruity Loops years ago at college. My specs are Ryzen 9 5900x, RTX 4070, 32GB ddr4 ram.
I mainly just use my PC as an amp with Guitar Rig to save me buying loads of pedals 😂
As much as I despise the Razer ecosystem, the best keyboard I've ever used is still the original super heavy duty Black Widow with cherry blues. That thing was built like a tank, you could use it as a home defense item if you wanted to.
Dials on a keyboard is a long overdue innovation.
A number of people at Amazon reported ghosting or unintended key entries. Did you have this experience?
I bought it a month ago, the letter i started double typing or shadowing.... Liike thiis
Funny how keyboards are evolving they are looking more raw yet the quality is increasing.
Very nice
Any thoughts on the EVGA Z20 clicky or linear?
clicky
are the switches hot swappable? thats one one the main things to know when it comes to keyboards and i dont see you talking about it
no they aint
Is Corsair really that prevalent in the UK? It seems like alot of reviews is from them.
Once they fix that spacebar I'll come back to the k70s but it's too clicky
Really nice but unless you switch the RGB bit on it looks a bit bland.
Nice job mat. People in your position can get Corsair to take action for us. They did 👌🏻
Thanks mate
That’s a pretty good board for the money.
Mat tears the Corsair max apart and points out the issues and Corsair send him this with a lot of fixes. Well done mat !
This board is a huge step in the right direction 👍🏻
Mat should say Kaay as often as possible during his reviews.
my corsair k70 cherry mx red (2014) has been going strong. maybe one day itll stop working
Well done corsair for using a sensible name.
still not sure I’m sold on this one but it’s certainly a lot better than the max disaster.
Not going to lie, I'm impressed by this.
Why don't they REMAKE the Gaming K95 Keyboard with the 18 keys on the left like the old one they had back then ????
just got mine yesterday from currys in the uk and it never came with a wrist rest.
and my space bar is untextured unlike yours. kinda sad there is no easily locatable wasd keys they just feel the same as the rest.
I just picked one of these up for the equivalent of £65, well worth it at that price.
Heck of a deal
I've owned many keyboards over the past 30 years. My current one is a CORSAIR K790 RGB Mk.2, and I love it. I recently added a CORSAIR iCUE NEXUS to make it even better. It allows me to monitor my PC status by simply looking at the keyboard. Though on the expensive side, I find NEXUS is a great addition to my keyboard and PC.
Will it work for windows 11
Thanks for your reply. I like reading them. I'm running the latest upgraded version of WIN 11, and my iCUE NEXUS works great. @@danielmoralesjr6470
Good they listen to feedback. That max was a disaster. Mat did a great job
Thank you! :)
Is the wrist rest included?
Yes
The keys sound good. Better than the max they messed up.
keys are too sensitive...i keep double typingg lettters
watched the whole thing now. still dont think this is anything close to the high grade boards from keychron tbh. it looks like a good mass market offering, but those Keychron Q boards take some beating.
who cares stop being a keyboard nerd and go outside
I could listen to this man say chassis all day long.
I’m going to start saying it more in my reviews 😉😂
'budget" is crazy to me. They want use to spend so much
90 quid, thats ok but had rewind it twice cause at first thought it was 19 quid!
does sound a lot better than the MAX...
You know its a gaming keyobard because it can do loads of colours.
Trouble is with these keyboards its really hard to tell from the video what it feels like.
I think thats the case with most things we see reviewed - we cant really tell how headsets or mice sound or feel either. I think if we find a reviewer who seems to know what they are talking about and give over the good and bads things, we have to make our own call at the end of the day, if we should buy it.
I tend to try amazon a lot for this stuff, as you have a 30 day return no questions asked option.
This is what the max should have been.
Let's be honest here. ICUE is far from ideal software. Also, you wasted your time telling viewers how ICUE can read temperatures and so on (those functions aren't related to the product), but instead, you could have demonstrated how to make a macro, different profiles and so on.
I think iCUE is really good, I use it extensively and have for years, so its been interesting to see it improve and expand. I dont agree on Mat 'wasting his time; - the temperature functions, especially with the new fans is a very useful feature as it can help you measure exhaust temps in your case - sure its not directly related to this product, but a lot of people dont actually know it exists.
Sadly it doesn't have dedicated buttons like STOP/PLAY...So no
The media button can be configured to do that.
Out of the 7.. 8 K-series keyboards from Corsair I don't think a single one of them has had the at first white light, later RGB, last more than at the very best 2.5 years. Most started having dead LEDs, or dead colours, after about a year and a half.
I liked the looks of them, but the QA is dreadful. Think I had free new replacement keyboards for some 5-6 years after the original K95 non-RGB purchase, due to the LEDs constantly dying. Might've been longer. I bought 2 or 3 of them, rest were replacements on top of replacements.
Got money back from the original K95 non-RGB after the 3rd replacement, some 3 years later or so. Used that on buying the K95 RGB that had come out in the meantime. Replaced 3-4 of those as well, ended up with two of them.
Eventually I was stupid enough to buy the K95 Platinum, might've been Black Friday or some such sale - after some ~2.5 years it started having failing/dead blue LEDs. That was my last one.
Personally.. I'd recommend getting something else than Corsair keyboards. Though I suppose chances are that you keep getting new keyboards to replace your failing ones for, probably, years to come.
Different computers, different USB ports, different homes. Before anyone blames that.
The keycaps are a bit raised up for me, kind of prefer the apple keyboard.
Which one.. the new apple keyboards are shit, fucking terrible. The apple extended keyboard is MUCH better
Btw thats from 1980, they got worse over time
£90 seems a fair price but £110 on prime !
Yeah not sure what’s going on there. £90 on Corsairs site 👍🏻
Its not
th-cam.com/video/6lO8hx3wjPU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=t-GLAkdhREmKTeZP
I bought it last week. Uber trash. Avoid at all costs if you want it to type. Double strokes, multi keys pressing. The switches are trash
not sure where you get off putting that piece of junk above the max... I have both and the core just feels like a hunk of crap in comparison. could just be my preference though.
Did you say Corsair 💩 logo or am I bugging???
the cable is a big no go for me , it still costs in my country 120€ , the cable should be sleeved for this price
Cheap plastic hidden behind paint and an aluminum plate at an atrocious price. Just typical corsair brand marketing. Non detachable usb cable must have hinted at its cheapness.
Well duh, it’s pretty good for being that cheap. What’s your criticism?
Bit harsh. It’s not like it’s 200 quid. I don’t mind people having a pop at a brand for being lazy but after the max this seems like a massive step in right direction.
Worst keyboard I have ever had the displeasure of using. The keys are so damn sensitive that they respond multiple times on a single keypress
Ad after 60 sec? U gotta be kidding. Bye
"better than the max" in which world ? xD (on sound maybe ... but on anything else no.)
The Hyper X Alloy Elite RGBs are far nicer KBs than poorly built Corsair trash.
This one looks quite good tho
sad that you're still spending so much on a keyboard that's lacking in so many features. you're honestly just paying for iCue and the Corsair branding
That’s certainly a view point we have seen from some people yes.
Another overpriced crap from 2015) There are so many boards now days that gives more and that you could review...Vendors still think that 1.5 new RGB layouts is enough. This board doesn't even have detachable cable, not mentioning wireless mod)
What are some boards that you'd like to see us review?
I love Corsair stuff. It’s not all great but this board is a heck of a step towards making changes for the better. I hope mats review of the max helped them rethink their strategy on lubbing etc
The sad thing is that "gaming mechanical keyboards" like this still exists. The price of Corsair keyboards is ridiculous considering you can get keyboards that are just as fast and half the price that are better in everyway. For the price of these outdated keyboards you can get a beautiful custom keyboard. The sound, the feel, moddable, hot swappable, ect. Don't waste your money on this garbage
