As a student in the 70's in Perth Australia, I would study until about 11.00pm, then walk into Perth from Subiaco & go to a night club called Beethoven's where Bo was playing. My mates were on the door & as a poor student I somehow got in for nothing !!! I attended 4 nights in a row. What a memory. Bo said "Man - You Been Here Every Night" & I replied: You're The Man. What a memory. My studies weren't so good then. He could get a venue moving.
I met Bo the year before he dies in Gainesville I was working over night as a stocker for Albertsons. 2 in the morning talked with him and a cashier for almost two hours lol I knew my frozen food was melting didn’t care. He told us stories for days. He’d shop there in the middles of the night with his hat on all the employees knew him. 8 miles from archer
Just drove past Bos grave and he has a big orange electric guitar on his beautiful gravestone here in Bronson fl ✨️🧡✨️ Safe travels on the flip-side Bo🎸🥀
He was a second or third cousin of mine. He lived on the south side of Chicago and use to play on the street corner, I was told. He and the rest of my family were all from the Macomb, Mississippi area. I met him once in a little club in Chicago. I was with my aunt. She knew him. I didn't know how important he was in the Rock and Roll world until a musician I know mentioned him and I told him we were related. He bowed to me......

Southern music. Both black and white kill it. Poor rural folks had soul and feeling.
Did mention the man tearing up that box Bo Diddley one of the Kings of blues

Much Kudos to Bo but the great Muddy Waters is the Originator of this song....unmatched and unrivaled but Bo did his thang!
Pretty sure Bo wrote and recorded in early ‘55. MW recorded his retitled and rewritten version a few months later.
