    I was a lineman for 35 years. Fell off poles, worked over 24 hours and more straight during storm damage, blew stuff up, and worked on some of the most important days that you can have for my family to restore power. I would do it all over again. Thanks Glen.

    Salute to Glen Campbell, who led an 'interesting' life, and was a musical genius. Paired with another genius, Jimmy Webb, they were like Bacharach and Dionne Warwick.

      When he'd do this song, he would improvise a lot on the vocals and the guitar parts, and he'd always nail it. Perfect pitch, as someone said. At the time this was done, his Alzheimer's was pretty bad, and he'd get lost sometimes, but here, he just nailed it.

      If you're at the point of Alzheimer's you would definitely not be performing like Glen did here,not even with dementia,because even with dementia,he would not be able to perform,this would've been some time before diagnosis, of having dementia which leads to Alzheimer's.

    • @FlightData101
      @FlightData101 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@johnbravo7542 Wrong. Glen was diagnosed several months before this performance and did a farewell tour with his son and daughter playing in the band. My mother was a wonderful pianist and one of the last things she could still do in the final stages of her Alzheimer’s journey was to sit down and play. She could only manage one or two short tunes, but what she did play was just as accurate and inspired as when she was much younger.

They have this guitar turned down all the way except for during his solo, since he (quite understandably) is not anywhere 100% in his playing. you can see him twiddling with the volume not understanding what the issue is since he can't hear himself. He is then confused that the other guitar player takes the riff before the solo, messes up parts of the solo and switches oddly between guitar and mic in hand. It's amazing he was at all able to perform at this point, but no reason to pretend he was at 100% here.

I worked as a line locator maintaining transformer yards for PA City in Saskatchewan, as a summer position, with a great bunch of lineman. This is man is a true Legend. I'm not a country and western listening person but when it comes to Glen Campbell, and a few other true country singers I listen.I grew up with Glen Campbell's Good time Hour and True Grit what great great movie. God blessed us with Glen Campbell.
