Someone once said about Glen Campbell that he had more talent than the law allows. That is an understatement! I don't believe we will ever see the likes of someone like him come our way anytime soon.
I saw Glen in concert at a casino showroom, maybe late 70’s or early 80’s and he was tossing out a few signed frisbees; I didn’t catch one but wanted it so badly, I offered $100 to someone who caught one . To this day, my husband mocks me for it but I still have the frisbee!

I love that Jimmy Webb wrote the first two verses of "Wichita Lineman," and Glen and his band just went into the studio and recorded the incomplete song as-is. Jimmy was stunned when Glen told him, "oh, yeah, we finished that recording" while Jimmy was still working on a bridge and third verse.
For me, growing up listening to various rock groups, Glen Campbell was not cool. Hearing him now, I realize he was one of the best song writers ever, AND a phenomenal guitar player.

My Mom loved Glen Campbell and played all his albums while us four girls were growing up. When she was 83, I bought a Bose stereo system and got all the same albums on CDs so she could listen to them easily. After she passed in 2015, it took a few years before I could listen to Glen Campbell without crying because I missed her so much. But I love his music so much - especially “These Days” - a song written by Jackson Browne when he was only 16 years old. And so many other great songs. ❤
If I only could go back to 1970 when Glen came through my small hometown in Northern California on tour. I kick myself now for not going to his concert at that time.

The the end of her life, she had Alzheimer's but she could since every word of those songs we listened to so many times. Thank you, Glen Campbell, and Jimmy Webb, for this song and so many memorable songs from "back in the day"! Great memories for me of my mom and good times! Miss you, mom! 💞

When I was in the Marines, when everyone else kept pictures of family and current pictures of early '70's rock and roll stars in their rooms, I had a picture of Glen Campbell. A while ago I was playing golf at Arizona Country Club. We had a foursome and there was this twosome waiting behind us. It was Glen Campbell and the local pro. Glen was a total gentleman.
I went to nursing school in Galveston in the early 70's. Every juke box in town had the song. Glen did a lot for Galveston with the song. It takes me back....to some of the most wonderful tines of my life. Young love, growing up, beginning to understand life.

I'm 70 years old and my generation Knew how to make music. I'm proud of my generation. I lived the best days. I was born at the right time. The generation now they have nothing. There's nothing to remember and kids being born. Today are born into nothing but problems.
Dewi, there are also a lot of kids with great resilience and skills who are seriously kicking goals and contributing to the world. ty 4 ur gr8 music Glen
My favorite decade was the '70s.
Not true. There's some beautiful music being made.
@@anniefannycharles9951 right on Annie. Always has, always will. Dewi, ya gotta get out more bro. Blinkers off. Go well
This man brought color, the story of love’s struggles, and beautiful music to our lives. He was top drawer, one of the very best.
Aww i love this so much and reminds me of family happiness in my home Dundee, Scotland ❤❤❤
I still love this song Love Glen Campbell.
Takes me back to my youth…
Galveston and Jimmy Webb perfectly capture a moment in time back in 1968 when so many young men were in Vietnam wondering if their girl back home was still waiting for them. I was 18 in 1968 and that poor GI sitting on a hilltop firebase in Vietnam could have been me.
Yet another Glen Campbell classic. Thanks so much, Glen.
Southern Nights was my favorite
