I have full medical cover but going to see my doctor is a last resort. Last year as I passed 80 I had a full medical check up. 100% clear the problem is that I don't trust the results.

When I was little I never saw older people jog ( no one did that then ) or run. They stayed active for the most part, ate healthy and not processed foods, and visited neighbors. They also did yard work. A big change in my opinion was eliminating front porches in house design and adding a back deck. This was a great idea but it also eliminated the exchange of conversations of neighbors sadly. I had a cousin who lived to be 97 and she stayed active, not sitting around in the house. Genetics play a big part in our lives but being put on too many meds can make things worse-- not better. Thanks for this video!

My mother told the truth about her excess weight, her constant fatigue and lethargy for 20 years. The doctors basically didn't believe her, and kept putting her on different diets where she actually ate MORE than she would normally, as she had a tiny appetite, and was very picky. When she was finally diagnosed with hypothyroidism, she had to have her thyroid removed..and they damaged her vocal cords in the process...but she lost about 20kg.

Well eliminating the contribution of the food changes and medication that can cause conditions is part of full picture. Certainly better foods are obtained through farmers markets and local butcher stores and exercise can be be done in the home on hot weather days. And since Covid close six gyms senior programs are not offered anymore. Things have changed immensely for many people.

I don’t have any physical restrictions due to the liver issue except that I can only take Tylenol for pain. I am also limited to 4- 500 mg Tylenol tablets in a 24 hour period. Sent me to the hosp 22 miles away. Another 1 hour wait, again very lucky, saw a lovely dr. Did some bloods, another 1 hour wait, extremely lucky. Nothing wrong with me except for my ribs (6 weeks ). 22 miles home. All day to be told 6 weeks. I already knew this and sure enough 6 weeks later my ribs had healed. I do thank our wonderful NHS though as it could have been worse and I am so grateful to them.
