I have full medical cover but going to see my doctor is a last resort. Last year as I passed 80 I had a full medical check up. 100% clear the problem is that I don't trust the results.
@@madvriendt7131 My cousin is a doctor. He told me not to go to the hospital unless it was an absolute emergency! BTW I heard this a long time ago: Dr. Bell fell down the well and broke his collar bone. Doctors should attend the sick and leave the well alone.🙂
When I was little I never saw older people jog ( no one did that then ) or run. They stayed active for the most part, ate healthy and not processed foods, and visited neighbors. They also did yard work. A big change in my opinion was eliminating front porches in house design and adding a back deck. This was a great idea but it also eliminated the exchange of conversations of neighbors sadly. I had a cousin who lived to be 97 and she stayed active, not sitting around in the house. Genetics play a big part in our lives but being put on too many meds can make things worse-- not better. Thanks for this video!
This is advice is so true! Another additional advice is being spiritual minded reading a devotional book or passages from the Bible, really makes aging more beautiful .
I am 75 and have memorized bible verses . I keep them on a spiral notecard, and say one pack every 😊day. So far I have five packs with around 60 verses. Plus I add a new verse every 3. Weeks or so.
Very good advice, as the Doctors just think that they should give a lot of medications to people over a certain age. And they know very well it does not work.
Doctors have sacrificed and spent years learning about the human body. How about tell them the truth, what you are eating, drinking, etc, so they can diagnose you best. 😊
My mother told the truth about her excess weight, her constant fatigue and lethargy for 20 years. The doctors basically didn't believe her, and kept putting her on different diets where she actually ate MORE than she would normally, as she had a tiny appetite, and was very picky. When she was finally diagnosed with hypothyroidism, she had to have her thyroid removed..and they damaged her vocal cords in the process...but she lost about 20kg.
Thank you for this. I’m 78 and this was so helpful. It reminded me of something that was popular a while ago. It ended with him saying trust me on the sun cream. I have never forgotten that and use sun cream every day.
I’m glad the advice resonated with you! Using sun cream daily is such a smart and important habit for protecting your skin. It’s great to hear that this piece of advice has stayed with you and become part of your routine. If you have any more questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask!

Well eliminating the contribution of the food changes and medication that can cause conditions is part of full picture. Certainly better foods are obtained through farmers markets and local butcher stores and exercise can be be done in the home on hot weather days. And since Covid close six gyms senior programs are not offered anymore. Things have changed immensely for many people.
I believe that a lot of the time, unnecessary medications are prescribed. All medication has side effects and how many people are taking medication to counteract the side effects of earlier medication they have been given? I avoid doctors at all costs.
I am 74 years old. I have been lucky to not have any problems with my heart or lungs. I do have a problem with my liver but it is controlled with medication. I don’t have any physical restrictions due to the liver issue except that I can only take Tylenol for pain. I am also limited to 4- 500 mg Tylenol tablets in a 24 hour period. That is the maximum dose for Tylenol use whether you have liver issues or not.
It's great that you’re managing your liver condition with medication. Keeping within the Tylenol dosage limits is crucial for your health. If you ever need alternative pain relief options or advice on managing your condition, feel free to ask!

And some people say age is only a number As advised, aging people experience changes in their bodies and feel alarmed But wisdom will lift them out of it and learn to adjust themselves to these new conditions 😅😅..😅😅😅😅
Thank you for this great video. I have avoided doctors all my life especially ever since one told my mother she was a very healthy woman and 2 months later she died of cancer ! It had metastasized from the breast to the liver and lungs. After that I never believed any doctor. I am very lucky to have reached the age of 77 with no medical issues, as far as I know.
I fell over a hurt my ribs. (6 weeks I know this) my husband said you should go to the walk in centre. After 1 hour, lucky, can’t do an X-ray but small amount of blood in my urine. Sent me to the hosp 22 miles away. Another 1 hour wait, again very lucky, saw a lovely dr. Did some bloods, another 1 hour wait, extremely lucky. Nothing wrong with me except for my ribs (6 weeks ). 22 miles home. All day to be told 6 weeks. I already knew this and sure enough 6 weeks later my ribs had healed. I do thank our wonderful NHS though as it could have been worse and I am so grateful to them.
Once you are old all doctors do is send you for tests and give you pills
Doctors ask your age. They pre conclude about your condition. Ex above 60,you must have diabetes. WTF
Yes
We are all poor victims
Absolute truth, no matter the compliant they have a drug or two for it. Drug companies are rich, medicare is paying!

One of the things that has bothered my for years is how quick Dr.'s are at giving meds for everything!!
1. Memory Decline
2. Prostate Enlargement
3. Blurred Vision
4. Osteoporosis
5. Nodules
6. Insomnia
7. Artial Plex
Thanks for saving my time.

Now is the time to ban pharmaceutical advertising.
@@patrickbodine1300 Absolutely! We are the only country that allows it and it is all about fear mongering.

It does not work the patient, however, it works for the Doctors, you keep coming back for check-ups etc. It works for the drug companies' profits.
