It worked like a charm. Had tried previously with only vinegar and spoilt my previous kettle. Both lemon and vinegar are needed for this concoction. And later boil some plain water and rinse out before use.
Thank you so much for this helpful information. Was hesitating about buying a Breville glass kettle due to discoloration issues but now I know the fix so on to ordering. Thanks again
I have this exact same one from Amazon. You can actually just do this without the lime. All you need is white vinegar and water. Just pour enough vinegar to cover the bottom and then some. Then you mix water in. Just add double the amount it took to cover the base. Let it boil… once it’s done, it’ll be clean. then pour it out and rinse with water twice and then it’s good for use again. Also no taste… if you still taste the vinegar, then you didn’t rinse it well enough. Close the lid and give it a good shake. DONT break the handle tho. ** I’m eyeballing all of the portions too btw…been doing it for a while so you kinda just know how much is needed, as time goes on. **
I tried another YT suggestion with watered down white vinegar 50/50, didn't seem to do a thing. I tried this and could see it working immediately as it boiled. Thanks!
So there is no minimum fill requirement? You can boil with only a quarter cup of vinegar or so? You don't have to fill with water to a certain marker? I guess not.

not really as long the vinegar cover the build up..
Half a cup of white vinegar. 1 whole cup of water. Boil it. Dump the water. Rinse out kettle 3 times.
