I have this watch for my scuba/ tech diving activites. I also have the full round version also but the cut side of this version alows you to bend your wrist up fully. I use it in conjunction with my Galileo Sol dive computer. The red light flashes when you violate accent speed or exceed dive time or set depth along with a beeping alarm. So its realy handy feature. Also the Eco-drive solar is fantastic! Iv never seen the charge in the red ever. Also the dive interval time is a treat.
Yes your right it does that. It cycles through a range of beep alarms with the red light flashing. The alarm stops for a while and starts again but the light flashes constantly. Its very bright led and very interesting to see on a night dive.
I have the Circular (symetrical) version of this watch which I adore - i never really liked the asymetrical one! A great review! As it had been a while since i had used all it's features, it saved me reading the instruction manual.... :-) Thanks a lot
Whoever the diver was that owned that watch before you did a serious dive, 262ft is not for the regular sport diver. Even the latest Aqulands don't do to those depths. I guess this even looks like a more serious diving tool.
Hi mate cool review, hope you did some scuba since posting. I'm seriously considering buying this watch since my every day watch just broke and I also happen to need to buy a dive computer so I thought this watch would be hitting 2 birds with one stone. I've only got 2 questions: Doesn't the minute hand get in the way of the LCD screen during a dive? How would you compare this watch to the other citizen aqualand, the 01E I believe, with the round case? is the dial size adequate for under water?
@t10parwani Sure. According to the manual though, it won't record depth logs unless you've been deeper than 4 feet for 3 minutes or 27 feet for 1 minute.
@alevadid Hi there mate. I see this is a older post but Im a tech diver and have both of these watches. The odd shaped one thats being reviewed here is my main everyday/dive watch. I team it up with my Galileo SOL diver computer. I compare them often at different depths and they are nevery more than 10cms out of each other. About the minute hand covering the LCD screen.... The information moves about as the hand passes by! :)
Hello, hey, a friend of mine owns a watch like this one, but in the quartz display it shows a big boxed X, and it doesn't show the diving mode anymore, is there any repair that can be made on this watch? maybe changeing the water sensor? any answer in advance will surely be appreciated. Thanks in advance. -Töurian.
Excellent video, thanks you took the time to check your watch and share your experience, that's life sharing with joy. Now we are happier with our diving partner ..
The BJ2110-01E has no ascent alarm. From what I understand a separate dive computer handles the diving functions. Diving watches are primarily a back-up system. So I wouldn't worry too much about the safety features. Why don't you just "randomly" walk by a shop that has dive watches with him one day, see which one he really likes and get that? I'm sure he'll think you're even more extra awesome for doing the research with him. Best wishes and congratulations!
@SGTINJ Hi Dave, sure, here's how. Go to the RESET screen, wait for the hands to move, and then hold the upper-left (UL) pusher for 2-3 seconds. Then push the upper-right (UR) pusher as many times as needed to zero the hands. The first hand to adjust is the max. depth indicator. When that's done push the UL pusher again to move on to the hour hand and so on. In this way you can cycle through, and adjust, all of the hands. Push the lower-left pusher anytime to exit. Let me know if that works! Nik
I think it's a great watch but keep in mind I haven't learned how to scuba dive yet so I don't feel qualified to recommend it or not for diving. It doesn't have a decompression stop function. From my reading of the manual it sounds like the watch was designed for no decompression limit diving.
i'm thinking about gettin it for my fiance as a wedding gift since he's been dyin for a divers watch. i'm torn between which citizen watch to choose.i know he likes the watches with the tiny clock like things in them but i like this one because it has more safety features with alarms. i'm also considering BJ2110-01E, do u know if it has the safety alarms too?like if he comes up too fast would it beep? please lemme know. i love ur vids btw
@alevadid You can see how the watch performs in a diving situation in my other video (see the Video Responses). The face is the same size on the version of this watch with the round case but unfortunately I don't have underwater experience with either.
I enjoy using mine....maybe have logged about 100 dives, The ONLY issue I have with it,is that the band is exstrememly weak and tears easily. I had to send it back to Citizens twise to have the rubber band replaced. It's not cheap either ( $37.50) each time not counting shipping and handling ( usually $10.00 each way)....other than that, it's a really cool watch. I wish the band was stronger though,or a different material. It's a big dissappointment.
Lmlc24 Have you tried charging it in direct sunlight for a few hours? If that doesn't work, I'd send it to a Citizen Service Center for repair. You can find authorized service centers at their website.
Thanks. :) I do write at my blog, West County Explorers Club. It's not strictly about technology but vehicle-based travel. Check it out if you're interested.
just wondering if anyone could help me find a watch, the watch needs to be antimagnetic, decent water resistance, light up for telling time at night, keeps date, has a stop watch, and extra compass, doesnt need a compass but would be nice. If anyone could message me about a watch of this capability, id appreciate it very very much.
In the TH-cam settings (click the gear wheel icon in the upper right corner of the screen) under "Captions" you can set TH-cam to auto generate captions in any language. 🙏
I just bought this watch second hand and love it. Your video was very useful.
Thanks--glad it was helpful. Enjoy the watch!

Hello Nick,
I just wanted to thank you for making these videos. I finally know how to use my watch now. Take care and keep on ticking!

Excellent review....you're really talented at presenting this kind of information. You should be a technology journalist.

Beautiful watch! I would buy one just for the looks if I had the money...

Hey how do you change the hours

My guess is that it beeps and the red warning light goes off. I'll try to show that in my next video.

i just got the other round version that i had before. this watch is your divers edc tho i suggest you bring a large depth gauge while on scuba.
I want one of these so bad!

"feels like really high quality..." well it better be! For the price i wouldn't expect anything else.

Hello Do you know were I can Find the Manual ? thank you.
Google is usually pretty good place to look. Here's a link though: www.citizenwatch-global.com/support/pdf/u100/e.pdf
whats the running price on one of these?

@SGTINJ No worries! Glad it worked!
Great Review, Thanks so much.
@nikudes can i use it for freedive
Hi there, the charge in my watch has totally run out, how can i recharge it at home?
The quickest way is to put it near a window. Otherwise shining a lamp on the dial will work as well but it will take longer.
thanks a lot for your help :)
Luis Malaspina
No worries!
muito bom o video isso sim é uma explicação boa sobre o aqualand.
Gracias!
unique time piece.
Which type of batery for this ....
@marlin187 No worries!
I did. I scratched it while floating against a rocky shore. The case is definitely not rock-proof.
I'd bet if you wet your fingers and hold them to the 2 silver screws on top of the watch it would activate dive mode
Mine doesn't keep charge! What should I do?

@WILL1BYRNES Thank you. I appreciate it.
Thanks. :)

Ha, well, it sounds like the James Bond vs 2001 Space Odyssey styling doesn't work for everyone. I really like it though.
I cant set the time on mine, it does't do anything
