The clasp the part ot the watch that the wearer interacts with the most. So, watch manufacturers need to stop cheaping out on their clasps especially on watches with integrated bracelets. Instead of giving me a display caseback for an unremarkable movement, just put a solid caseback and a better clasp.
💯 if they release a new version with butterfly clasp I will definitely buy it . I'm pretty confident that they will correct that mistake because they listened to thier costumers and fixed that default on the Tsuyosa small seconds.
I gotta disagree with this one. As long as the clasp doesn’t fail, doesn’t really matter to me. We interact with it 1 second a day, assuming you wear the watch all day.
Never not bought a watch because of the clasp... But certainly will immediately exclude a watch as an option if it has a solid caseback and it isn't for acoustic purposes like in a minute repeater or alarm watch.
I'm glad to see Citizen stepping up their game, but I also think its criminal that since they also own Bulova, they haven't applied their Eco-Drive technology to the Lunar Pilot. Imagine the marketing for a Solar Powered Lunar Pilot. Here's hoping the YT review channels start asking Citizen about this.
man.. watching your videos is a good enough fix to keep the watch addiction at bay. There is always a new watch and there is always something missing… which leads to the continual search
@@sealedindictment I’m into solar and citizen is the leader in this field . I have plenty of automatic watches and lately started expanding my collection to solar powered. Just bought a Casio mud man last week
Bought one for a friend's birthday, great value for money. Ways lighter than the Tsuyosa but yes it misses the butterfly clasp and the movement finishing from the small second Tsuyosa which would make that a watch a all time hit
Citizen needs to make a 1000 to 1500 dollar version of this. What they've done for $500 is very impressive, so much so that I want to see them release a more refined version at 2-3x the price.
Though not similar to the watch reviewed in this video, Citizen actually has come up with a very expensive (relative to their collections) watch line already: The CITIZEN. If I'm not mistaken, it costs > USD2,000. So, if you're looking for a very expensive Citizen, there's an option.
Instead of these large corps using focus groups with people that have no watch knowledge. They should tap into watch crunch. With a 9015 and a milled clasp… home run! Good review.
amzwatch You are so well-informed about luxury watches. You've obviously done your due diligence and the comparison to the US is very informative...because of course, I live in New York. thank you very much

I personally don't see an issue with a stamped clasp. It's functionally identical to a milled one, and you can't see or feel the difference when the watch is on your wrist or in your watch box.

Citizen are really making some compelling watches, their designs are really on point right now. Six months ago I would have politely bypassed Citizen, but now these Forzas are incredible.
Citizen are killing it, stellar looks, fabulous materials and even better value. I prefer all my watches to be 10 ATM. As for the Direnzo, it has it's charm too, but it's going to be far more expensive, is stainless steel and so will feel differently on the wrist as it weighs 50% more. Citizen has a the NJ0180-80M which would be my preferred watch out of them all.
Great video, very accurate analysis. In my 4.5 years in the game as a watch collector and enthusiast, I collected a lot from MaMaCoo I was thinking I was able to get a blue SD but I'm not vip enough, but I'm not giving up. Hehe. Great video.
I agree with you on CW's "The12": nice, but the dials are somehow "too much" for my taste. I really like the SW300-1 that they put in the titanium "The12s" too. I've really warmed up to titanium since I got my Citizen Promaster Land AT6080-53L. It's just insanely comfortable. If I bought a gold or tantalum watch I'd want to feel that weight on my wrist, but man there's something to be said for a watch that you can hardly feel on your wrist. That Citizen on its titanium bracelet is comfier than anything else I own, whether it's on a bracelet or FKM strap. So that brings me to "The Citizen" AQ4091-56L. I believe I need to have that watch. I definitely see more titanium watches in my future.
Been watching your videos for a while now and was inspired to start a collection. Started with the MaMaCoo , its specs for price and clean looks, now am looking for a dress watch to add.
I don't know if I'm crazy or something, but the PRX still has my heart over the Tsuyosa and over the Forza. Maybe it's the waffle dial, I don't know, but it oozes luxury to me in a way that these don't. I don't know what it is.
Love this review! I do wish they had an option with the green dial from the other release, it’s a very traditional Japanese color (very popular in 90s, brings back nostalgia) really looking to fill that green dial void in my line up.
It definitely caught my attention upon release, especially the variant reviewed here. I am definitely considering one. I like the Twelve quite a bit, but the titanium model is not pocket change. Interesting comment about the F77. I have not tried them on, but the Lapis Lazuli variant looks great. I think I will hold off on that until I can get hands on one. As for integrated bracelet watches, I think it has gone beyond the trend and is now basically a style of watch, like pilot, field, etc. Even if it is not always the flaming hot desirable watch style, a well executed variant will always look good on the wrist.
That’s absolutely beautiful! The clasp is ridiculous but whatever. I have the 40mm PRX I got it when they first dropped the auto and it’s still the best overall package for the price.
Hello and thanks for this video. I really like what Citizen is doing these last years. But not this watch. Because the dial is meaningless. The brand name at 12 ? Ok. A date window at 3 ? Not necessary, but ok. But wtf a small second at 5 and a model name beetwen 8 and 9 are for ? ... This way the dial, imho, is clearly unbalanced.
I haopened to stumble upon this watch I rhink yesterday and I had the photos side by side. Thought to myself - I really like the way this watch looks! But heres a question - not going crazy expensive - whatbwould you recommend if you wanted to step up in quality?
Damn. If it had killer AR it would be so much nicer. But I'm going to get the green or blue version at some point anyhow. You can't expect everything for a relatively reasonable price. If they gave it good AR, an on-the-fly adjustable clasp and a 9-series movement, it would be perfect even for a lot more money. But actually I'm kinda glad they made it more entry-level. A more reasonably priced watch can be enjoyed more worry-free, and this is a sports-watch after all.
I just hope the hype for this watch doesn't leak outside the watch enthusiasts. I don't want to gatekeep, but I saw what happened with the Moonswatch and its price hike due to scalping.. Hopefully, that won't happen with Citizen..
