It is so refreshing to see a couple like truly, truly into one another. Like you can tell that they are friends first and then lovers. Meaning they like each other. I just love that. And congratulations on their engagement. 🥰
Native West Virginian, Ohio River Valley specifically. Wrong Turn is the best and worst thing to happen to the state honestly. It’s a bad stereotype but great conversation piece when I’m out of state. Lived out of state for a couple years and I missed WV every moment I was away though. I missed the mountain air and the hilly fields. Love the podcast!
I kind of love how West Virginia gets the inbred stereotype by places like California and New York but their states allow people to marry their first cousins and ours doesn't.
I have just sat and watched/listened to 5 hours worth of your podcasts and can't say thank you enough for being so entertaining on a subject so close to my heart. People look at you weird when you say you like horror films so I am glad to have found a couple with such a passion as yours. Keep up the awesome work.

@Reesebynum2791 Doing a film franchise are something that he does a couple times a year, but there are still a lot that he hasn't gotten to yet. I only saw this movie once but it’s got a special place in heart. I was 18, saw it in the theater for Eliza Dushku. My friend was grounded and couldn’t come. So afterwards I went to her house and re-enacted the entire movie for her 😂
As an appalachian resident myself, I quite enjoy Wrong Turn and the sequals. I'm fascinated with the psychology of the cannibal brothers and how they're percieved by the outsiders. Also, the theme of isolation and being at the mercy of nature and the things in it taps into my environmental brain. We were recently discussing in my nature writing class how humans are hard-wired to be prey, and these movies and similar cannibal slashers explore this in a way I quite like.
If your in2 this kinda stuff theres a channel "papa scare" he has 2 videos on the smokey mountains in Tennessee where he has supposively true stories people have sent in encountering wildmen or wrong turn type people out on that trail its 800,000 square miles very interesting & if u like those videos south force 10 has some videos on the whole subject also & he lives right near the smokey mountains tennessee.

Eliza was best known for Faith in buffy lol, loved this one. The guy that plays the giggling hillbilly has been in heaps of tv shows he plays death in Supernatural. Wrong turn was one of my favorite movies. I loved the tree scenes and yeah I was screaming nearly for them to throw things down the hatch in the watch tower lol, I just loved the style of it. The chick that plays Francine is in the tv show the Librarians which she plays Cassandra and I

Wrong Turn for me atleast is such a weird set of films, like I legit hate some of these films, one of them is so dark and depressing and not even in a good way, but another one that's basically just torture porn I actually like because the characters are just so damn dumb they deserve to die. 2 is obviously the best though, I think we can all agree on that.

I was born in Heflin Alabama and if West Virginia is south... Alabama has an entirely new category. Crap like this isn't legend. There are woods that you KNOW not to go into. Roads even the cops won't use. Anyone goes into some of that country and they never seen again. Every one of my uncles ran shine and some of them hillbilly back there make these killers look like amateurs. Honestly... this isn't fiction... they just got the state wrong. I 100% believe @ inkmeal i haven't been able to find this video or comment for along time I've done some research on it because my utube channel has to do with finding wrong turn type towns & or abandoned towns similar. Heflin only has 3,000 people & in 2002 a pregnant woman was killed along with her son the killer was never found. Also randomly I was searching heflin alabama the other day @ work and I see the remains of an 18 year old kid that went missing in 1991 were identified after all these years. There has been a new police chief since 2020 so it seems like he's trying to clean up the place but there's alot of shit going on in that small town & alot of woods also not to mention im going to visit there one day but im definitely going to be safe & im not going 2 far in either 😭.

the dead meat podcast is legit the only podcast i can actually watch the whole way through lmao
