Keep your eye on all the characters' surroundings throughout the movies because they constantly give hints to how someone will die or hints to when they die. For example remember when the girls wanted to switch seats with Alex and Todd looked at Alex like "no!" and made a strangling motion with his hands? That was the clue to Todd's death. Also when the plane blew up and the camera panned to each individual character, when it gets to Terry you see a painting of a bus behind her which was the giveaway to her getting hit by a bus. Things like that to keep an eye for
There's actually an alternate ending on the DVD that indeed does have Alex sacrifice himself which breaks the cycle, leaving Clear and Carter alive, then Clear goes into labor 9 months later and gives birth to Alex Jr. The ending concludes with Clear holding AJ in the nursery and the wind blows through the windows, which Clear recognizes as Alex's spirit watching over them then everything fades to black
@@UndertaleFan-cx2mc I thought I remembered James saying that too. Ah well, most people don't pay total attention to TH-cam so it's understandable that they missed it.
The movie plays on paranoia, it is definitely horror. At one point I was constantly looking at my surroundings to make sure nothing could possibly kill me
Ace of Games because of final destination, I got rid of my lava lamp from my bedroom because I was convinced it would explode and burn my face off when I was sleeping 😅 I’m a paranoid person anyway but those movies fucked my mind up
If I'm not mistaken, Schreck is the name of the actor who played the vampire in "Nosferatu". In fact, I think all the characters in the Final Destination are named after horror movie actors or directors which is pretty sweet. Still no excuse for clear rivers tho
Thank you! I came here to say this. Also, apparently James Wong and Glen Morgan's assistant was named Clear, and a crew member had family with the surname Rivers, so, that's where that one came from.
Final Destination (plane) = 287 deaths Final Destination 2 (freeway) = 18 deaths Final Destination 3 (rollercoaster) = 7 deaths Final Destination 4 (speedway) = 52 deaths Final Destination 5 (bridge) = 86 deaths They come from the wiki
Tony Todd is in 3 of the 5, but he's the voice of the Devil from the Roller Coaster in FD3! So, that's really 4 of the 5. I like 3 the best, but I think that comes from the lack of a couple and Mary Elizabeth Winstead as the main character. JAJ, these vids and the Kill Count ones are so outstanding is because they are planned, organized, and scripted. I like everything. Even when you do franchises that I kind of hate (F13 or Lep), I still watch them for the fun, the commentary, and the production value. Thank you!!!
I actually think the FD franchise is one of the few horror franchises that has a majority of decent, if not fun, movies, and is pretty underrated in that regard. 1 was a good start, 2 improved on it and added one of the best premonition scenes (I still hear from people saying that this movie is why they refuse to drive next to trucks on the highway), 3, while it's pretty divisive from what I've seen, has the picture gimmick which I thought was cool and had Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and 5 had some of the better set-up kills and that twist ending (and, fun fact, is the only movie in the series to be "certified fresh" on RT). 4 is pretty bad, but on a "so bad it's hilarious" with its bad acting and awful CGI. It has the coolest poster though. I also like how it seems to have stopped at 5. Knowing when to stop the franchise before it wears out its welcome and continuing through comics and stuff. I know there are rumors of a 6th movie, but I kind of don't want that, since I think 5 ended it off well.
Shirley Walker is one of my all time favorite composers. I knew of her from Batman: The Animated Series and Superman: The Animated Series. Plus she worked on the 1989 Batman Danny Elfman score, so that stood out to me. Her work is sooooooo damn good, and it’s a shame she never got the recognition she deserved.
The first Final Destination is definitely up there as one of the formative horror films of my youth - I can definitely remember flying as a child and not being the least bit bothered, then flying after I watched the movie and being on edge, noticing little things similar to Alex. Also, funny thing I noticed watching Saw 3D: Gibson (the Internal Affairs officer) is played by Chad Donella, aka Tod in this movie.

Listening to you guys joke about busted planes on this podcast AFTER reading your tweets about all the busted planes on your trip back home was wild let me tell you.
I love the idea of Death (the "killer") creating Rube Goldberg machines. For Final Destination kill counts: do you have to count the deaths from major catastrophes (plane crash, car pile-up, roller coaster accident)? You didn't count the people of the space station in Jason X. [Though I guess that had way more people.]
I'm from August. He's covering them right now. Anyway, he does NOT count premonitions, but he counts the real accident. For example, no bodies went on the count during the Flight 180 premonition, but when the plane exploded out the window when Alex(?) was talking was when the 287 people went on the count.
I love that we are just calling him Devon Safeway now 🤣🤣🤣 The third Final Destination (the roller coaster one) is far and away the best one of the franchise.
Little late to post but in terms of the disasters and how many people die, the Final Destination wiki has the total number of people who died during the disasters (and not the premonition ones) FD1: 236 people on flight 180 FD2: 15 people on the route 23 pile-up FD3: 7 people on the Devil's Flight coaster crash FD4: 52 people at the McKinley Speedway crash FD5: 86 people on the bridge, 380 people total at the end if you include all the deaths from the flight 180 crash at the end (which would make it the largest kill count if the series is covered)
Guys he is not going to do a Final Destination kill count anytime soon so stop asking. He very specifically said that this podcast was a consolation for not doing it as a kill count
@@dreaveronica6944 lets see about next year. Far as I know there nothing planned for it and I lost track of how many people met their demise and I pretty much certain it's over 23
if I had to guess, I'd say I'm not the only person to say this, but you say in the podcast that the tires are the things that keep you safe in a thunderstorm. This is partially true, though rubber can still conduct electricity. The thing that really makes cars the safest is how the metal shell around the car makes the electricity of around the outside. When electricity travels, it tries to find the closest path to the opposite electron that it is going to. So in a car, it won't travel through the car, then through you. It will go around the metal, which allows it to travel faster. It will then reach the ground. If you stood in a giant metal cage, you would still be safe, saying as you wouldn't touch the outside of the cage. Sorry for the block of text on a late video but just wanted to say that. love the channel, keep up the great work!
I couldn't find anything to back this up but I believe the windows shattering due to the explosion is not impossible. When filming the final explosion for the 1994 film Blown Away, the shockwave destroyed 8,000 windows in East Boston. And that was just an effect for a movie. Imagine a fully fueled plane exploding right after take-off. I believe that'd be a powerful bang. Loved the episode!
Ideas for the kill count Final Destination Series (2000-2011) The House Of Wax (2005) The Town That Dreaded Sundown (1976/2014) Rampage (2010) Halloween Series (1978-2009/2018) The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Series (1974-2017) Wrong Turn Series (2003-2014) The Evil Dead Series (1981-2013) The Sausage Party (2016) ;)
The BlackHornWasp Its basically the first slasher movie. But is really hard to tell if The Town That Dreaded Sundown was the first real slasher movie. Because the movie was release in 1976 (2 years before Halloween) but it was also release 2 years after Black Christmas and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
Victor Greenwood Because The Sausage Party has a big body count? In anycase you don't need to cry because i was being sarcastic thats why i put a ;) so stop crying.
Man id be very dissapointed if final destination turned from good to shit where the concept turns into dream warriors....i honestly hope the next final destination follows the grave keeper he clearly knows more than he lets on and really needs more screen time
To me 5 is the best because of the opening scene, twist ending, and its creative kills, as well as being not as goofy as the other movies despite some characters
The ocd point you made is actually very accurate. I live with ocd and I can say that I’m very guilty of placing a lot of meaning into everyday occurrences/coincidences. Currently it’s magpies but I have had months and months of paranoia because I believed someone/something was watching or stalking me because the radio, TV and TH-cam all kept showing or playing things that were just thoughts in my head around certain topics and it drove me up the wall. I must have looked crazy. I still have a thing over cars with triple digit number plates but I’m getting a lot better at moving past that stuff but thank you for raising that idea
It's cool that Alex is a libra which generally is a sign characterized as someone who naturally focuses on restoring balance to things and that the concept of the film is that the balance of life is thrown off by our characters cheating death
James has already said he knows the next kill count but hes sorry for final destination fans that its not going be that he said he doesn't have time to cover those movies now that hes doing saw
Victor Greenwood true, but he made like 4-5 comments on this video alone. I get a lot of people want it, but he is making it seem like it’s just a small group that desperately wants it
Some of the clues in the movies force you to think outside the box on a major scale. For example, if you're familiar with the Ohio Players and their most popular songs, then you'll know how much they truly affect Final Destination 3
Oh my god, perfect timing. We are having work time in class right now, and I get to listen to this the whole time! Also, Final Destination is one of my favorites, so thank you!!!
Considering the size of the explosion the shockwave would definitely take out the entire window of the terminal especially with how close the flight's explosion was. That was easily equal to 10 tons of TNT.
I absolutely love the Final Destination series (save for the fourth one)! Also, loved the Devon Safeway running gag. Also, I warn anyone who hasn't seen this movie, if you have seen Scary Movie before this, don't be surprised if you burst out laughing when Terry dies. Seeing the getting-hit-by-a-bus death in the former ruined any actual fear for me in this film.
Love that you guys covered this movie. It's one of my faves and I was really happy when the series got onto The Kill Count. Recently got into the podcasts, and I'm having loads of fun listening to these.
Happy patron here! good god, I'm as sick of kill count requests for this as you guys are (he's said many a time it won't be on this year). Thanks for the FD nugget for now either way, love that series! 1,2&5 for story but all for the slasher-free deaths
I already was terrified of flying in planes because I'm incredibly paranoid then my cousin decided to show me this film right before we went on a plane to France. (I cried lol) But the more of the franchise you watch the worse it gets and it's hilarious, just a copy and paste plot.
17:50 ya know the third installment made fun of 9/11 in a way. In the plot wendy took pics and the pics is related to their deaths. While wendy explains her visions. She reference the pics that may have clues to their death. Wendy had pics and one of them was a picture of 9/11 with a shadow of a plane
You know in hindsight it's funny that the people making this movie were self-aware enough to realise using "Leaving On A Jet Plane" would probably be a bit too on-the-nose, so they just went with a different John Denver song.
I've noticed on a re-watch of Dead Meat content James really hates Wikipedia for some reason, he makes a mention (a little before 3:15) that anyone can edit Wikipedia. Sure anyone can, but has he not heard how strict Wikipedia is? It feels like James is stuck in the high school mindset where Wikipedia is the Devil for no good reason.
If you plan on doing a killcount on this franchise the opening disaster deaths are Flight 180:287 Route 23:20 Devils Flight:8 Mckinley Speedway:186 Norway bridge:86
I’m really liking the podcasts. We get the interaction between James & Chelsea. It’s personal, almost like I’m having a discussion with friends. I really like the Final Destination series. Devon Safeway 🤣!!
There is a real consequence to cheating death besides death killing you anyway but I can't exactly give an example without spoiling anything. But just keep that thought in the back your minds and you'll see what I'm referring to
These types of movies like Final Destination are called Slasher movies. It’s where a killer or in this case, Death, kills a group of people, which is Alex’s friends.
Seeing the Kill Counts for these movies has officially made me forever paranoid about the number 180, since it's taken on a new meaning (doing a 180 from being alive to being dead)
The first and second of this franchise are my favorite post 2000 movies. Those movies made me too paranoid to do anything for some time after watching them
I came up with a Drinking game for Final Destination I call it “The Final Destination Drinking Game” The rule is that you have to take a shot every time something related to Death happens
As long as you were mentioning Saw, I didn't know until I looked up clips that the actor who played Detective Gibson was Tod. He looked young in Saw 3D, but he looks like an infant in this.
Genuinely think the next step for the franchise is an anthology series. Theres numerous books that take different angles on the premise (one has the main character bargain with death to kill her friends herself) that would be interesting I think instead of generic movies.
Honestly i think since he cant do final destination this year he'll probaly do it on his channel aniversery next year Though even if he never does it im still excited for halloween and future kill counts i myself am a fan of final destination but either way keep up the good work james

I’d really like to see you guys do more final destination podcast stuff at least the sequel because Clear was in it to tie up the loose end .
Finally! Always wanted you to cover this. Too bad I can't listen until after work.
Happy patron here! good god, I'm as sick of kill count requests for this as you guys are (he's said many a time it won't be on this year).
Thanks for the FD nugget for now either way, love that series! 1,2&5 for story but all for the slasher-free deaths
Please do a kill count on the Final Destination series!!!!!!!! That would be amazing. The first movie is a favorite of mine!
I like the 4th one
He let fans decide if he was gonna do Saw or Final Destination. Saw won.
First name Last name no he didnt. He was gonna do final destination and then changed it because of the enormous peolme requesting saw
I like the 3rd one..
Victor Greenwood that death really freaked me out. I hate tanning beds and refuse to go near them because of that scene.
NEW CAMERAS HYPEEEEEE
Devin Safeway keeps cracking me up whenever you two keep saying it xD
love these movies tbh
This is another favorite of mine from the podcast to add to the list
I already was terrified of flying in planes because I'm incredibly paranoid then my cousin decided to show me this film right before we went on a plane to France. (I cried lol)
But the more of the franchise you watch the worse it gets and it's hilarious, just a copy and paste plot.
Almost reached the final destination listening to this because James’ roasts about attention span made me choke on my burrito
Love your podcast
Downloaded a couple of them
Keep up the great work
My Daddy James better do that Final Destination boiiii.
My birthday is 25th of September!!!!!!
Wtf
He specifically asked not to ask for a FD kill count because there is no space in his schedule for this year. Maybe next year.
As of writing this, well FD1 and 2 have been covered. So... mission accomplished?
We could never be mad at you for not picking Final Destination, James. Everyone knows you’ll get to it eventually! Thanks for the review, guys!
Whenever either of you say "Todd", all I can hear is Dave in the fox and the hound drunk Disney doing a Beatles impression
It feels like James is stuck in the high school mindset where Wikipedia is the Devil for no good reason.
i dont care what movie he does, as long as i get to see James having fun im fine
If you plan on doing a killcount on this franchise the opening disaster deaths are
Flight 180:287
Route 23:20
Devils Flight:8
Mckinley Speedway:186
Norway bridge:86
Great podcast. The last one was surprisingly good!! But the 1st is my favorite.
I assume that Agent Schreck was named after Max Schreck, the guy who played the original 1922 Nosferatu.
I’m really liking the podcasts. We get the interaction between James & Chelsea. It’s personal, almost like I’m having a discussion with friends. I really like the Final Destination series. Devon Safeway 🤣!!
I knew this was coming, I was going to comment and say make a kill count on final destination.
Picturing death as clubbed is amazing
I remember wanting this so bad!
Thanks even though it's just a podcast atm.
Great as always! I only wish I had found this later because then I could binge it.
thanks... for the attention span compliment 😆 keep up the good work guys 👍
The first and second of this franchise are my favorite post 2000 movies. Those movies made me too paranoid to do anything for some time after watching them
Shirley Walker also composed music for Batman The Animated Series.
Finally ive been waiting for 2 years
I came up with a Drinking game for Final Destination I call it “The Final Destination Drinking Game” The rule is that you have to take a shot every time something related to Death happens
Drinking game: Watch all the final destination movies but everytime someone says death take a shot of beer
Lol. "People are always going to be into shit like crystals." Favorite quote.
As long as you were mentioning Saw, I didn't know until I looked up clips that the actor who played Detective Gibson was Tod. He looked young in Saw 3D, but he looks like an infant in this.
love you're stuff James keep up the good work
Genuinely think the next step for the franchise is an anthology series. Theres numerous books that take different angles on the premise (one has the main character bargain with death to kill her friends herself) that would be interesting I think instead of generic movies.
To me Shirley Walker's best score will always be "Mask of the Phantasm"
Honestly i think since he cant do final destination this year he'll probaly do it on his channel aniversery next year Though even if he never does it im still excited for halloween and future kill counts i myself am a fan of final destination but either way keep up the good work james
