Complete nonsense, how come a driver that hasn't even been involved in the accident get such a harsh penalty. Alonso now is gonna be the new "5 seconds penalty for Ocon" meme

@@thegridgab to me it seems an attempt to distract us all from the fact that there was no red flag with a car in the middle of a fast turn with no visibility with a driver inside the car still, even russel said it's no penalty that

I think you forgot that Horner clearly said that Perez had huge damage under his car. Seeing him finish 2nd, in the first two races, I am sure that Perez would've gotten 3rd if not higher at the Australian GP

That message to Red Bull woulda been a helluva lot more fantastic, had Vasseur given the order to swap positions. His #1 driver would now be leading the Drivers' Championship and Verstappen's run of having led the championship for 41 consecutive grands prix had come to an end. The more pressure you put on your rivals the higher the probability of them making errors, simple fact of life. And Championships have been lost by margins much smaller than 7 points... Leclerc's foul mood after the race said it all.
Throwing points away for some heartwarming sob story ("From hospital bed to the top of the podium"), which hardly anyone will remember at the end of the season when the points tally is added up, that's highly unprofessional. I fondly remember the good old days when Ferrari ruthlessly used team orders to further the team's advantage, even when they were the dominant force on the track... they didn't leave anything to chance.
P.S. All the drama about a removed appendix??? It's quite normal to be back at work within a week after a laparoscopy. Do we really want to compare that to Niki Lauda in 1976?
