  • How the 2023 F1 AusGP track was built. Filmed over 70 days see the construction, the track build, the grandstands, behind the scenes of how a park turns into a Formula One circuit. See workers Building Melbourne's iconic F1 Grand Prix Circuit.
More than 290,000 man hours are needed to transform Albert Park into a world-class Formula 1 circuit each year. The Australian Grand Prix circuit in Melbourne is one of the most iconic tracks in the world of Formula One. The construction of the circuit is a massive undertaking that requires a lot of planning, resources, and expertise. The process of building the circuit starts months before the actual race, and it involves a team of engineers, architects, and construction workers.
The barriers are built to protect the drivers and the spectators from any accidents that may occur during the race. The safety features include the installation of catch fences, tire barriers, and run-off areas. The construction of the Australian Grand Prix circuit is a complex process that requires a lot of attention to detail and precision. I hope you enjoy this behind the scenes look at the Australian Grand Prix circuit being built.

I used to work near the Adelaide Parklands Curcuit, and used to get the same buzz from the setup before the Supercars event here. Amazing how quick they get it torn down. Our race finished Sunday afternoon, and all the streets were open, barriers gone, etc before morning rush on Monday. We had a couple of big grandstands built on the street too, they were gone by next morning as well.

Albert Park is the only track that feels like a race track that's built into public infrastructure after the race, Instead of public roads retrofitted to race on. I'd love to check out the transformation myself sometime.

I would add Jeddah to that list as well. It's called a street circuit, but feels like a racetrack that is open to public use for 11 months.

If i lived near here I would do this every year and just watch it get built.

I’m from Melbourne and I love driving the Albert Park circuit. Drove on it when it had the chicane on the back straight too. The road is super smooth since they re-surfaced it. Makes me want to floor it but cops are known to sit on this road haha
