      The EPA and the E.S.G. reports forces them into bankruptcy you got it twisted.
      The E.S.G. reports are designed to destroy car companies in America destroy schools in America and bolster the hospitals to drain you of every dime. The E.S.G. reports are modern day Chinese social credit system, it’s not a free market economy in America if you get a negative E.S.G. Report. . If you don’t have (critical race theory) C.R.T. in your high school you will get a negative E.S.G. report an overwhelming pressure to the teachers union in the town to comply. If you’re trying to make an item that does not allow everybody to share it in the META-verse, your gonna be shut down eventually by “them”. You can’t have a car that won’t connect to the meta-verse not a personal item like a watch or even a jacket everything must be shared and connect to the meta-verse.

Why? you ask. Think about if for a while. I'll give you a hint: I live in a complex of 300 units. There are about 400 cars parking in this complex. At-large parking. No garages. A few paid-parking car ports. We don't have air conditioning because the complex grid can't handle it. Beginning to get the picture? Thats kind of a misnomer, however. The Tesla's require just as much maintenance as any other car sans the engine. The suspension, steering system, and etc all require just as much maintenance, and the electronics maintenance is going to be a nightmare on these things in 15 years. Just like old CNC machines, I'd wager the electronics and the 10 year battery life will make the Tesla's a real life disposable car.

    • @Jayremy89
      @Jayremy89 3 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      @@smh9902 all engine and transmission related expenses are gone.
      A motor moves, wheels move, suspension moves, ac fans moves, brakes move. All moving parts will need maintenance and batteries degrade over time.
      Electronics won't really go bad under normal or good conditions, for a long time. Heat & humidity will wear on electronics.
      Programming bugs may exist, but for the most part maintenance is heavily reduced. Fixing software & firmware issues is easy labor & and there is much less to deal with when working on it.

    • @smh9902
      @smh9902 3 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      @@Jayremy89 Every 15 year old car shows that wiring starts to break down past this point and suffer from various glitches, shorts, and etc. Engine's are on the cusp of making huge leaps in technology. For example, liquidpiston and eternal engines have a rotary and piston design respectively that each only have 2 moving parts and maintenance is just as null as an electric motor. Transmissions, especially manual transmissions, are basically maintenance free other than swapping a clutch, which can be designed to be almost as simple as changing a lightbulb.

      You mean 230V nominal (+10/-6%) in Europe. In the U.S., residential power is typically transmitted along two 120V circuits (usually with a shared neutral) that are 180 degrees out of phase, meaning you can use them as a single 240V circuit, or break them out into two separate 120V circuits. Thus 240V is readily available in most homes and is often used to run bigger appliances, such as electric stoves, driers, big pumps, etc. This is what Scotty is referring to when advising people to plug it into 240V instead of 120V.

      Very appropriate being that Teslas are like kitchen appliances. I mean, it’s not a bad thing. Toaster makes toast, refrigerator refrigerates. Car drives. It does it’s job, and it does it very well. But you don’t have any emotional feelings towards it. It’s a tool. That’s why it’s good to have an ICE in your fleet when you want to have fun. We have a Tesla Model S, and it’s the best thing. Fast, sporty, luxury, efficient, zero maintenance... ...but for some reason that old unreliable slow ICE is more fun. It’s bizarre! Hey Scotty, New Flyer makes electric buses however, they can convert *ANY* vehicle to electric. They already do it on electric buses - that was about 5 years ago but I'n not sure if they produce smaller electric drive systems for cars like your Celica. Maybe you can give them a call. I worked for them as a contractor for a short while, while on lay-off from the shipyard.

    I'm looking forward to owning an EV someday. But in my early 60's; and having just bought a '21 4 Runner; I'll wait a little. A decent EV (I'm eyeing the Rivian) is pricey. I think people with EV's right now are in a sweet spot. Charging stations; while not particularly widespread or convenient/local to get to, are probably under-utilized due to the small number of EV's on the road; and the current owners find no wait time when locating and pulling up to charge. However; if there is an economies of scale switch over to EV; we may see traffic backed up into the street waiting for a station to become available. Not everyone is going to ride out to a large super station of an interstate with the hopes of getting into a charging stall. An old (nearly 10 years) gov study I located, addressed the problem that will persist regarding those that live in apartments, or, park on the street. Charging in a single family home is best. So; will the future rush hour now turn into the "wait" hour as people wait several minutes (longer probably) for a stall to charge for 20-40 minutes? Will there be a need for large parcels of land for stations to accommodate vehicles being charged? And the battery issue; manufacturing/reclaim/development. Search You Tube for Redwood Materials Inc. There is a video in which the CEO Mr. Straubel; a founder and former head of battery development at Tesla; discusses the challenges of battery development, manufacture and reclaim of rare earth minerals. Listen carefully to his presentation and one realizes we have a long way to go.

    • @redbaron6805
      @redbaron6805 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Except, there is a logical fallacy in that thinking, because you are assuming the number of chargers will stay the same as vehicle numbers increase. Nothing is further from the truth. In the 6 years I have owned my Tesla, not only have they built more locations, they have also expanded existing locations that had 4 chargers to 8.
      In the meantime, Electrify America has been building a ton of new stations and new locations. There are far more chargers than there were just 4 to 5 years ago. That is beside the fact that most people will simply charge at home most of the time.
      That is on top of the fact that charging times are dropping with faster chargers being introduced with higher power output, so instead of being 30 to 40 minutes you can now charge in 10 to 20 minutes.
      Real world data simply doesn't back up your claims.

      Battery swap.

    • @dorvinion
      @dorvinion ปีที่แล้ว

      @@xy4489 Take it from an EV owner.
      Battery swap is an extremely stupid idea that thankfully did not become mainstream
      If battery swap were normal I suspect that 80-140 miles would be the standard range for a battery pack and the rationale would be efficiency for commuter use.
      Right now today, you can fast charge 140 miles in about the same time it would take for a battery swap so in that sense, it wouldn't save you any time to charge vs swap.
      Basically, battery swap would make EVs LESS convenient, not more.
      Real world example. Right now I only care about fast charging when I'm going over 200 miles in a day because every day I charge to 80% and that gives me 200-250 miles depending on the speed limit of roads I'm driving.
      At least twice a month I take 150-200 mile day trips - an easy task in a Tesla as it means no charging in public, and really no need to change my default charge level. It doesn't require me to do anything special, I have no anxiety about range or anything. Just get in and drive, just like a gas car.
      With swaps and smaller batteries as default, my day trips would get a heck of a lot more annoying because I'd have to make sure there is a swap stop on the route.
      Plus such a swap system create an opportunity for the mfgs to turn the vehicle into an ongoing subscription product
