I absolutely love how articulate Chameleon look. Reploid is describes as Replicated Mechaniloid or Replicate Android, and Sting here looks more Mechaniloid than android even in its finish render. Now I'm deeply interest to see Kuwanger Reploid look in your rendition.
Thanks you! Yeah I wanted to use a more tangible look and feel for them. Not too sci-fi and more grounded. But with that it's a bit harder to make them more expressive. But glad it worked for you 😃 And I am currently working on Boomer. Have the Head and upper body done and I am super happy with the result so far. I am sure many will be too.
it's long path to reaching to this level but really, you gave to me tough energy to go on and learn more daily because that's my favorite digital art, great work and efforts Mr. Demniko
That was basically just a tech texture that I found with some normal maps. Added a few details and added some glow in the shader while using the main texture with a colour ramp as a mask.
Your attention to detail is incredible! It gives the film such an incredible magic! I am curious, how long does it take to make the models for a maverick with all of its moving parts?
Like spark mandrill, I can see you put a lot of detail in this episode, and also Like sparkmadrill I do hope he gets used for a good scene before the series ends. Honestly when I played the original an maverickhunterX the remake, I always see sting camelion having that goofy but sinister feeling, due to how the remake on psp portrayed him in the game. Here however it feels like he's became a mangled animal of some sort with his personality missing. Sparkmandrill kind've gives me that same feeling too when you released his episode. I'm guessing it some sort of side effect after X defeated them, or some sort of maverick virus (But then again the maverick virus wasn't a thing up until around x2 and X3). Still though, the point is, from my point of view I feel like both camelion and Mandrill (in a sense(and its my theory)) Lost some means of humanity and there programing has been rewritten to a more wild state. Primarily I believe this mostly because of they're BODY LANGUAGE. StormEagle and launch octopus don't seem to have this trait like these 2 and seem to be more aware at this point. Idk I'm just speculating at this point. But if theres some truth to this I still wonder what the finally will look like. Also got give props to the enemy design too. That looks like extra work that was put into the scenes. It makes me wonder what the other 4 mavericks will be like, and honestly I can't wait until we get to KuWANGERS episode. Making a guess right now. Kuwangers stage is falling from the sky and he revives and speed dashes along the falling wreckage to safety. That would be awesome.
Hey, thanks a lot for your comment. I can totally see that and it is still one of the hardest things to do. To capture the essence of the character you know well and love. I think there are multiple reasons why Chameleon and Mandrill are behaving as they are in my videos. And there is no deeper meaning or explanation regarding how the virus works etc 😉 1. We only see them for a very short amount of time in an exceptional moment. There is not much time to convey many of their character traits. So Chameleon still might be the one you know and love from Maverick Hunter X. But at that moment there is nothing for him to be silly about. There is just sadness, anger and drive to make things right. For Mandrill it's similar. He is barely alive and he has only one thing in his mind: to survive. So character wise it is hard to show other sides of him in just 2 minutes. Especially in that kind of frantic style. 2. My goal of the whole series is to not be too cartoony with the characters. I see this project more of a reinterpretation. A "what if". I want to show what it would be like if there really was a machine like that. Mandrill would be a huge intimidating beast. And Chameleon is a sneaky one, but also very dangerous. 3. There are many versions and interpretations of those characters and there are always differences. So I had to pick and choose some form for them. And I'm mostly familiar with the original SNES game. But also I wanted to give them my own spin. A more visceral and menacing feel and vibe. They are all dangerous machines and I wanted to convey that. So I think this is my reasoning for why they do what they do. But to come back around, yes we will see them again 😉 I am planning on creating a 4 part finale after all 8 mavericks got their own film. So there is still room for character development 🙂 And I am working currently on the Kuwanger episode. Unfortunately it's not gonna be the scenario you're looking for. I have a different approach for him. I'm gonna utilize his speed in an interesting way I think. Also he will be fighting. Still don't know how I am supposed to do that 😅 But I am trusting in my instincts and my ability to learn. It worked before so maybe it will here too. Cheers and thanks for your input. I really appreciate it! 👏
Hmmm... Hard to explain. But I'll try 😁 I start with the original design and then I replace the textures with realistic ones first. That gives me a certain vibe. Then it already looks kinda metallic so I see how I can enhance it. I wonder how he would be manufactured. Where would logical seams, vents, joints and bolts go? The design itself is just the shell, all robotic parts are inside. So I take the shell and make it more see through and not completely closed off so you can see all the mechanisms. That already gives him a more robotic look. The insides are mostly kitbashed, so just trying out and seeing what works is mostly the process 😁 Then it's just adding details. Those sell the effect even more. Hope that helps 😊
