There is a spin-off MegaMan x game card which tells the return of most Mavericks that X has defeated with upgraded bodies and weapons. More specifically, the lore behind their resurrection is harrowing. So yes, X has to retire these former hunters a few more times...
It's not what it represents to me. What it really seems to me is that they are reviving as reploids without the influence of the virus that turned them into mavericks, but keeping all their memories, and compelled to find some form of justice, against the virus itself or against those who spread it, maybe Sigma... or something above.
As a life long mega man and mega man x fan, I can't quite put into words how amazing it is that you bring them to life in such a realistic way. It really gives the reploids a sense of humanity.
NGL This made me seriously tear up. Imagine from Sting Chameleon's perspective: Last thing you remember is that blue poacher (sigma virus/Maverick insane, remember) stalking through the forest, destroying countless woodland "creatures" (The plant and animal bots and all) Next thing you know, you're waking up badly damaged after who knows how long and all around you are the bodies of those who sacrificed themselves for you to be there? Absolutely heartfelt.

@@OttoniSaulo Most probable reason being to hurt humanity. The forest produces clean air while also removing pollution, as well as is the site of various research projects in agriculture. Reploids don't need clean air, so taking control of the forest meant it could be turned against humans.

We know noumander was in the weapons factory, Penguigo in the Arctic high level research facility, kuwanger in the central comms tower, octopard in the marine research and military base, eagleed hijacked the newtype airport, mandriller was at the central power plant. Chameleao was always a mystery to me. Also, eagleed as a similar role to dragoon, in the "good friend turned foe" trope.
That's what you may think about this scene, but Sting Chameleon is canonically an asshole who joined Sigma for funsies. Every single enemy here wants to annihilate humanity
Let me just say this is absolutely incredible. The way you had the Mechaniloids repairing Sting Chameleon and even giving him all their energy to revive their leader was heartwarming and beautiful. Then having Sting rushing in the direction of Abel City in a slowly building rage was just brilliant. This is superb film work. All the stars and thumbs up for you.
I got fricking goose bumps. The horror-esque touch was so nice and you could feel the anger inside him when he saw the scraps of the mechanaloids. Been enjoying those videos ever since!
Watching him come back to life and the fire in his eyes when he sees all the mechaniloids that sacrificed to revive him was epic! The cloaking when he headed towards the city was awesome!
Absolutely stunning. The robots that is under Sting's command does emergency repair before giving him just enough juice to function. You can even see that livid glare from Sting's eye, realizing that he was killed and left to rot before stomping off to the nearest city, either for a full repair or revenge, probably the former.
This was much better than I expected and I already had high hopes. I did not expect all the Mechaniloids in the forest to come together and to put their boss together again at their own personal cost. Like wow, you really pushed the whole idea of being "one with the forest." And I love how that sweet, restorative gesture is then flipped once Sting Chameleopn comes back to life and starts moving. You know those intentions are NOT peaceful, a contrast to the serenity that came before. Visually beautiful and thematically fitting for a stealthy lizard reploid.

It was important for me to convey the idea of a symbiotic forest, where everything is connected (sometimes literally) and if needed even sacrifices itself. After a while you loose the sense of the impact it might have for someone to see it for the first time. Glad it all still came together 😊
(2:41) I imagine that Sting Chameleon is looking at all the dead robots, thinking "Nice gesture... very bad judge of character..." before going to attack the city. XD

Damn this is awesome. Beautiful animation. Chameleon always had that rage and horror feel if pushed. Hope we get up to X someday. It’d be interesting to see each Maverick’s emotion upon seeing him again.

This one has me thinking Michael Bay's take on Transformers with how detailed this was! I remember Reploids have a self-repair system, but this makes a lot of sense for the Mavericks/Robot Masters to have their normal enemies repair their stage boss whom you'll face again later on!
These give me chills every time I watch them!!! Very well done, and a game exploring the "what if they survived" question would be awesome. A movie of "what if they survived" would be amazing too! These get my imagination soaring haha

@@johngreenaway1472 Yeah, I realized that only after I had already written all the stories for them 😅 So my original intent wasn't to explain their reappearance. It is just fanfic about what might have happened after each fight. But it could as well be an explanation. Buuuuuut recently someone explained to me that when you fight them a second time, it's not them. It's just empty shells without any personality. So that's why my interpretation works again 😁 I hope this makes sense 😅
Both beautiful and conveys a lot of emotions. Tranquility, sadness, determination, selflessness, rage. I love all the little details, the waving grass, the rippling leaves on top of the camo met, the realistic, independent eye movements, the water splashing to mark his passage through the stream. Him running towards the city certainly doesn't bode well for anyone in his path does it? The cloaking effect was perfection! Is he your favorite X1 Maverick?

Mostly it's the one I am working on at the moment because you spend so much time analyzing him and getting familiar with his story. So right now it's spark Mandrill. But overall I always liked boomer kuwanger. With his speed he is technically OP but he is the most mysterious and kinda unpredictable. I have some really cool ideas for him. He'll be probably in episode 5 😉

Why is there not even 8,000 views? This is absolutely magnificent. I was SO excited when I saw the preview for this and my expectations were shattered completely. There’s a whole story with a range of emotions tied to this 4 minute video. I really enjoyed storm eagle as well but I can see the evolution in your art my friend! Ugh! I gotta say this one is my favorite by far! The nature and robotic symbiosis accompanied by the music creates such a wonderful effect. The switch in tone as chameleon rises and powers on just fires me up for more!

You really went above and beyond to make Sting sympathetic here. Him seeing all the innocent "animals" of the forest - his friends laying down their lives to revive him gives him the motivation to rip and tear that over developed city apart.

These short films are amazing! Such great stories and depth in such short time, giving meaning and reason as to why they still stand and fight, while also giving such great introduction of each boss. You have such great talent and I hope you do well in your future projects.

X was one my favorite games on SNES and your work here is simply genius! You have a level of gumption we need you to maintain and press into your work! Damn, just damn!
This series’s is absolutely epic. Please please continue this project until capom sells you the rights to the franchise or give you a team to make a movie lol. But seriously I love everything you’ve done so far and can’t wait to see what you do next. I also hope that you’ll eventually get to X, Zero and even sigma himself.
Hahaha... Don't know if I want to have this much responsibility 😅 But this is my attempt to make something close to a movie when all episodes are finished. All together will be something like a short movie. Rough estimation is, that all together will be about 30-40 minutes long. And yes, X and probably Zero will appear in the final episodes 😉 Sigma I'm still not sure. Still working on the conclusion to the whole story.
Ever since Iron Man and Marvel and such, I’ve been convinced that there should NOT be a Mega Man movie. I believe it would just fly under the radar of the super-hero-over-saturation. These shorts however have given me a renewed hope. 💙
43 and I been a fan since I got Mega Man 2 on the NES when it came out. Always wanted a serious ,darker version of a Mega Man show and this would be perfect. Beautifully done

It's a shame that we STILL don't have a proper MMX movie/CG series. It's so ripe for one. You could tell an awesome story with good drama and emotion, and totally badass action sequences. And don't even get me started on how we STILL don't have X9 *sigh* Anyway, this is incredible. Eagerly looking forward to the rest of the Mavericks.

@@DemNikoArt I’m hoping with the Mario movie making a billion dollars, it will open the door for a lot more deserved video game franchises getting film adaptations. MMX would be at the top of the list for me, along with Star Fox and Metroid.
Not sure if intentional but this felt like a surprising reversal of tall nature. When something dies, small critters usually gather to break it down but here, they put my boy back together.

Bro, im speechless. I remember recording a playthrough of MMX on a VHS and showing my friends how cool the game was (and my skils) waaayyy back in the day. I think i played it more than games like Mario oland Zelda. The story of Sting Chameleon being revived and hunting down X is awesome! The models all look extremely professional and Stings model size is intimating compared to the other robots. I'm just discovering this now, so I'm going through all your Mavrick videos now!

Thank you! Yeah nostalgia really works in my favour 😁 But that wasn't a conscious decision. I just wanted to give the fans something new instead of keeping the franchise on life support.
I confess this is quite the feels to add in, showing how everyone in the forest actually cares for Sting Chameleon. Makes someone want to think about how things were when he wasn't exactly Maverick huh? Might've been the playful kind of guy who might do light pranks here and there, but a pretty good person. A shame things had to end up the way it did later just because Sigma was absolutely envious of X and just lost it. Let's say maybe later on that this is an after part in where he perhaps went back to the way things were and just stayed in the forest with all of his friends before the later parts of the story happens after Sigma took a first total loss (end of MMX1)? --oops, then that sudden change of the mood at the end busts this... nope, he is pissed!
This (and the whole series really) is absolutely incredible and stands on it's own as an incredible achievment of visual storytelling and cinematography, amazing work!!!

I just stumbled on this series w/ the release of Episode 5 hitting my feed tonight. I know I'm not the first to say just how fantastic a work this is and I certainly won't be the last! MMX was one of the first SNES games I got gifted the year it came out that Christmas, and between it and the rest of the pixel genre of the X series, I couldn't even begin to count the number of hours I put into them. I always felt that there was so much more room for story telling with him and the reploids he put down, and here we are, watching a touching, scary and downright beautiful short giving life to that idea! Again, this and your other works are an amazing treat and I'll be sharing them with all of my circle to devour and delight over!
Thank you!!! And I agree 💯. It was similar with me back then. I got a SNES and one of the first ones I played was X1. After having also played the regular MM games this just blew me away. The graphical upgrade, the mechanics, the new bosses with the animal style. This all stuck with me to this day and when I started learning 3d I knew what I had to do 😆

Even with how little emotion Sting chameleon was able to show, you can still easily make out what he felt shortly after getting revived. Surprised confusion, then shock and horror seeing what happened and what it costed for him to return to life, followed by a moment of grief... Then that very grief bubbling into Silent Rage towards X from what he's done. Wasting no time to avenge those who gave him a second chance at life, gets a move on as there's nothing left for Chameleon to protect in that forest.
But consider this sting chameleon was a jerk to X. If you played the megaman maverick hunter X on the psp. Sting chameleon tries to get on X's nerves by mocking him in their boss fight. Infact in that game he and launch octopus and vile are the two bosses who are openly hostile towards him. Others like storm eagle and armored armadillo only fights him because out of loyalty or because they wanted a way out like storm eagle who just wants to wnd himself after failing to stop sigma. And come to think of it all of the bosses in that game didn't even go maverick they only joined sigma's cause out of loyalty or fear.
I actually felt bad for Sting Chameleon for a whole couple minutes. the forest buddies brought him back, and he is Pissed!! can't wait to see what Spark Mandrill looks like.. and that awesome soundtrack! if Capcom hasn't already reached out to you and asked you to make the movie series they should! I wanna see X in all the movies lol like.. X 1-5
I've notice that all of them starts of their eyes glowing white before going full red. Which kinda indicates that despite being revived that is no longer their original selves but probably the maverick virus taking complete control of the body
Nah, I think you're reading too much into that 😉 Only chameleon and boomer have those. All the others have different eye colours. With chameleon, he always had one red eye. Here it's just indicated that it's mostly red when he's in the "attack/angry/revenge mood" 😉 Boomers eyes are by nature red. At least in my interpretation.
I got to see this on the big screen! I feel privileged. The sound design is super engaging and emotional too. This is high quality work. Those steps in the water as it goes invisible are top notch.

I kinda see this forest as a symbiotic organism where all "life" is connected (sometimes literally, ha) and they all provide for each other. So not a real boss-minions-relationship. At least that's what is happening in my interpretation ☺️
All of the Mavericks series is amazing, I hope you continue to do that and eventually bring x into the picture or even make a short film. You definitely have the skill and talent for it, coolest thing I've seen all day hands down

That also has a special place in my heart because of the emotional aspects. With the 4th one I tried a different approach and some experimental editing techniques which I also love. I try to do different things with each episode so it all doesn't get boring and there's something for everyone 🙂

And i'll probably get some eye-rolls, and what im saying might not be technically correct, whatever. But I think you might be the most talented animator, story director, content creator on the planet. Of all time. The actual GOAT. Your eye for visual framing, direction, atmosphere, and mentioning nothing of your raw talent in creating this, is once-in-a-generation. Bravo doesn't sum it up.

NGL This made me seriously tear up. Imagine from Sting Chameleon's perspective: Last thing you remember is that blue poacher (sigma virus/Maverick insane, remember) stalking through the forest, destroying countless woodland "creatures" (The plant and animal bots and all) Next thing you know, you're waking up badly damaged after who knows how long and all around you are the bodies of those who sacrificed themselves for you to be there? Absolutely heartfelt.

I actually never understood what Chameleao was guarding in the Mechanical Forest, and why Sigma wanted to take it.
@@OttoniSaulo Most probable reason being to hurt humanity. The forest produces clean air while also removing pollution, as well as is the site of various research projects in agriculture. Reploids don't need clean air, so taking control of the forest meant it could be turned against humans.

We know noumander was in the weapons factory, Penguigo in the Arctic high level research facility, kuwanger in the central comms tower, octopard in the marine research and military base, eagleed hijacked the newtype airport, mandriller was at the central power plant. Chameleao was always a mystery to me.
Also, eagleed as a similar role to dragoon, in the "good friend turned foe" trope.
That's what you may think about this scene, but Sting Chameleon is canonically an asshole who joined Sigma for funsies. Every single enemy here wants to annihilate humanity
Let me just say this is absolutely incredible. The way you had the Mechaniloids repairing Sting Chameleon and even giving him all their energy to revive their leader was heartwarming and beautiful. Then having Sting rushing in the direction of Abel City in a slowly building rage was just brilliant. This is superb film work. All the stars and thumbs up for you.

Absolutely stunning. The robots that is under Sting's command does emergency repair before giving him just enough juice to function.
You can even see that livid glare from Sting's eye, realizing that he was killed and left to rot before stomping off to the nearest city, either for a full repair or revenge, probably the former.
This was much better than I expected and I already had high hopes.
I did not expect all the Mechaniloids in the forest to come together and to put their boss together again at their own personal cost. Like wow, you really pushed the whole idea of being "one with the forest." And I love how that sweet, restorative gesture is then flipped once Sting Chameleopn comes back to life and starts moving. You know those intentions are NOT peaceful, a contrast to the serenity that came before.
Visually beautiful and thematically fitting for a stealthy lizard reploid.

You got exactly my intentions and the story beats I was hoping for. It was important for me to convey the idea of a symbiotic forest, where everything is connected (sometimes literally) and if needed even sacrifices itself.
After a while you loose the sense of the impact it might have for someone to see it for the first time. Glad it all still came together 😊
(2:41) I imagine that Sting Chameleon is looking at all the dead robots, thinking "Nice gesture... very bad judge of character..." before going to attack the city. XD

I remember Reploids have a self-repair system, but this makes a lot of sense for the Mavericks/Robot Masters to have their normal enemies repair their stage boss whom you'll face again later on!

My favourite maverick always changes. Mostly it's the one I am working on at the moment because you spend so much time analyzing him and getting familiar with his story. So right now it's spark Mandrill. But overall I always liked boomer kuwanger. With his speed he is technically OP but he is the most mysterious and kinda unpredictable. I have some really cool ideas for him. He'll be probably in episode 5 😉

You really went above and beyond to make Sting sympathetic here. Him seeing all the innocent "animals" of the forest - his friends laying down their lives to revive him gives him the motivation to rip and tear that over developed city apart.

Hahaha... Don't know if I want to have this much responsibility 😅 But this is my attempt to make something close to a movie when all episodes are finished. All together will be something like a short movie. Rough estimation is, that all together will be about 30-40 minutes long.
And yes, X and probably Zero will appear in the final episodes 😉

I think i played it more than games like Mario oland Zelda. The story of Sting Chameleon being revived and hunting down X is awesome! I confess this is quite the feels to add in, showing how everyone in the forest actually cares for Sting Chameleon. Makes someone want to think about how things were when he wasn't exactly Maverick huh? Might've been the playful kind of guy who might do light pranks here and there, but a pretty good person. A shame things had to end up the way it did later just because Sigma was absolutely envious of X and just lost it. Let's say maybe later on that this is an after part in where he perhaps went back to the way things were and just stayed in the forest with all of his friends before the later parts of the story happens after Sigma took a first total loss (end of MMX1)?
--oops, then that sudden change of the mood at the end busts this... nope, he is pissed!
This (and the whole series really) is absolutely incredible and stands on it's own as an incredible achievment of visual storytelling and cinematography, amazing work!!!

I just stumbled on this series w/ the release of Episode 5 hitting my feed tonight. I know I'm not the first to say just how fantastic a work this is and I certainly won't be the last! MMX was one of the first SNES games I got gifted the year it came out that Christmas, and between it and the rest of the pixel genre of the X series, I couldn't even begin to count the number of hours I put into them.
I always felt that there was so much more room for story telling with him and the reploids he put down, and here we are, watching a touching, scary and downright beautiful short giving life to that idea!
Again, this and your other works are an amazing treat and I'll be sharing them with all of my circle to devour and delight over!

It was similar with me back then. I got a SNES and one of the first ones I played was X1. After having also played the regular MM games this just blew me away. The graphical upgrade, the mechanics, the new bosses with the animal style.
This all stuck with me to this day and when I started learning 3d I knew what I had to do 😆

Even with how little emotion Sting chameleon was able to show, you can still easily make out what he felt shortly after getting revived.
Surprised confusion, then shock and horror seeing what happened and what it costed for him to return to life, followed by a moment of grief... Then that very grief bubbling into Silent Rage towards X from what he's done. Wasting no time to avenge those who gave him a second chance at life, gets a move on as there's nothing left for Chameleon to protect in that forest.
But consider this sting chameleon was a jerk to X. If you played the megaman maverick hunter X on the psp. Sting chameleon tries to get on X's nerves by mocking him in their boss fight. Infact in that game he and launch octopus and vile are the two bosses who are openly hostile towards him. Others like storm eagle and armored armadillo only fights him because out of loyalty or because they wanted a way out like storm eagle who just wants to wnd himself after failing to stop sigma. And come to think of it all of the bosses in that game didn't even go maverick they only joined sigma's cause out of loyalty or fear.
I actually felt bad for Sting Chameleon for a whole couple minutes. the forest buddies brought him back, and he is Pissed!! can't wait to see what Spark Mandrill looks like.. and that awesome soundtrack! if Capcom hasn't already reached out to you and asked you to make the movie series they should! I wanna see X in all the movies lol like.. X 1-5

I've notice that all of them starts of their eyes glowing white before going full red. Which kinda indicates that despite being revived that is no longer their original selves but probably the maverick virus taking complete control of the body

Only chameleon and boomer have those. All the others have different eye colours.
With chameleon, he always had one red eye. Here it's just indicated that it's mostly red when he's in the "attack/angry/revenge mood" 😉
Boomers eyes are by nature red. At least in my interpretation.
I got to see this on the big screen! I feel privileged. The sound design is super engaging and emotional too. This is high quality work. Those steps in the water as it goes invisible are top notch.

And yes, I am currently Working on episode 4. And X will also come a bit later after all eight mavericks. I am eager to finish this series. Have the story written down and am super excited to bring it to life 😃

That was absolutely incredible! I’ve just recently found this series and I will thrilled to see the Sting Chameleon episode from the trailer and it certainly delivered. The quality and passion in this series is amazing to say the least. It makes me super excited to eventually see all the other Mavericks and their respected episodes. Best of luck with the rest of the series as I’m most certainly be looking forward to seeing more!

I’m watching these all now because I saw the trailer for Kuwanger, and the first two were neat, but THIS is sincerely beautiful! I’m stunned, and can’t wait until tomorrow to send the playlist to my cousin who played this game with me a hundred times as kids

With the 4th one I tried a different approach and some experimental editing techniques which I also love. I try to do different things with each episode so it all doesn't get boring and there's something for everyone 🙂

Look, I grew up with the life cycle of computer animation from birth until where it is now. And i'll probably get some eye-rolls, and what im saying might not be technically correct, whatever. But I think you might be the most talented animator, story director, content creator on the planet. Of all time. The actual GOAT. Your eye for visual framing, direction, atmosphere, and mentioning nothing of your raw talent in creating this, is once-in-a-generation. Bravo doesn't sum it up.
