@@yellowjoe.2000 no not exactly. I replaced the stock crank pulley with a light weight crank pulley, so like for like sort of. 👍

@@blackdogmotorsport3784 ok so you installed a lightweight pulley along with a harmonic damper? thanks

About to do the install for this .. how long have you been running these pulleys now and any issues ? I am a little hesitant about the crank pulley install.

I have been running this Pulley for about 12 months with no issues. ( As at June 2022).

We have use light weight 6061 underdrive pulley on inline 4 honda for over 25ys and have Hondas with pulley well over 250k miles with no issues, I sell a lot of pulley kits since late 90’s and never have 1 vehicle’s engine fail due to light weight pulley, it’s always cold air intake hydrolock that damaged the engine. In-line 4, flat 4, flat 6, these 3 types of engine can run aftermarket pulley & it will free up alot of power…

I also want to add this, if you install high quality pulley kit like the one we sell for k-series honda, the engine will run smoother than oem, and have less vibrations than oem.

@@wkndbikeshop It will rev a little faster and can be ''ok'' for low hp street car / showcar (bling mod like the "throttlebody spacer"), But how it can run smoother with less vibration than a "hardcore" dampened unit like Ati, Fluidampr..or even the OEM dampened unit ? An inline 4 cylinder engine has a secondary imbalance by nature which causes vibration.. While its completely fine to under-drive the accessories pulley especially on a race car that stay in the upper rpms, a solid 6061 crank pulley simply cannot absorb more vibration than a dampened pulley. Wayy smarter to put a lightweight flywheel and leave the oem harmonic damper alone.. on K-series you can even swap the K20A (typeR) pulley which is underdrive and dampened from the factory.

Do you recommend lightweight pulley in the GT86,?

Honestly not really. I you are tracking the car and combining it with other mods like a lightened flywheel then sure, otherwise I wouldn't bother, not in a road car anyway.

You have no idea what you’re talking about. There is a rubber layer between the hub and outer ring. This allows the hub and outer ring to move separately, very small movement however. Which makes it a harmonic damper. A pulley is one solid piece.

@@rasgum7 - have you done your research buddy? Who are you going to trust? A guy from a company that probably doesn’t exist anymore, trying to sell you a part with 5x markup that anyone can make? Or the industry leader that is approached by the best engine builders in the world and asked to build a product?

@@rasgum7 Your attached video link is a good one in the sense that it states that it all depends on the type of engine you have.
