Let me get this straight. You can upgrade weapons just by using them, meld weapons you don't use into dracolite, turn spare Safi'jiva materials into weapons and stack upgrades? Already 100x better then Kulve Taroth
For make a weapon with all abilities at max you need infinite dracolites and infinite hunts, after eight full siege, i can't make a good switchaxe with abilities to 5, i'm bad lucky but the possibility of good abilities must be' increased with stored potential, after 20 Times, the max is 15, he gives me attack 2, sharpness 3 and element 4...
Also note that the more you use a specific safii weapon during the siege, the better your chances at getting lvl 5-6 upgrades. So don’t waste all your dracolites in one go on a new weapon you just got. Upgrade once or twice and use it for a few runs then upgrade again.
Considering Kulve got an AT version, you bet we gonna need these for a Tempered Safi'Jiiva. Safi is borderline Black Dragon as is, at Tempered state..... I dont think anything short of a Black Dragon would have balls to fight it.
"Grown" the fucker is smaller and looks nothing like xeno. That's my issue with the devs, I won't be considering him as a matured Xeno, period. But another dragon entirely.
Me too I was hoping he’d be like half or a third of Zorahs size sense he was massive just coming out the cacoon. Maybe he was malnourished because the area is barren or maybe he had a protective layer so he seemed juiced but idk. He has similar qualities with the energy absorbing and star patterns in his wings but it does seem like a different monster itself.
theartgoose I did three full hunts, I enjoyed every single one of them. I highly suggest you join a servers with only 4 players(Including yourself) doing the siege, I did it 3 times in a row with the same group of players. It was a blast, I was the healer in the group with wide range keeping everyone alive. Especially the tank, once I seen his Hp go below 40% I healed him up so the monster will focus on him and not the rest of us breaking his parts.
So with Safi's new mastery skill it allows you to trigger Latent Power really easily and if you have a weapon with Zinogre's essence all you have to do is equip stygian zin helm and zinogre chest to get 6 levels of LP. With Safi's dragon vein awakening you can trigger Latent Power in 30 seconds. It is amazing I don't even have to run WEX to do well.
@The Samurai LP with Zinogre set bonus when hugely stacked becomes fairly easy to activate (just take damage, which you will do throughout a hunt) and over-stacking the skill with Zinogre's set bonus results in some bonkers effects (+60% Affinity and -60% stamina drain). The main issue with this, however, is that other 3-piece set bonuses also offer crazy effects that are usually always active and provide different kinds of bonkers effects without any activation requirements.
Clarification on rewards. It's whatever weapon you have equipped when U get your rewards not the weapon you did the quest with. So if if u want a particular weapon just switch in the gathering hub right before u get your rewards. If u forgot this step and all already claimed the rewards u can quit the game comeback in and equip the right weapon this time and your last two rewards should be your newly equipped weapons, but. U CANNOT SAVE .Only the last two weapons change, the other ones stay the same.
I can confirm that info is correct since I did the fight as DB, switched to IG to get the rewards and there were no DBs in the choices. You do the fight with the weapon you want to upgrade (raise potential) and switch to get at least 1 weapon of the type you are most looking for. It's still just 1 out of the bunch but it helps.
A quick tip when starting out with a fresh Safi weapon. Put 5 skills on the weapon ASAP because the weapon's awakening level also helps skew the rng towards better skills. Don't use too many resources storing the potential for just the 2nd slot. You will see more level 4 skills when all the slotted skills are around level 3.
I love this system so much, I just wish they had some kind of weapon transmog since everyone's weapon will look the same. That said, the weapon designs are amazing, SA especially.
Dino-T transmog would be pretty cool ngl but personally I also love the look of these safi weapons and have no problem looking at them lol, especially in their unlocked state. Would like to use the black eagle CB for transmog tho. The awakened LS is stunning as well

The issue is breaking enough parts to get that lvl of rewards I guess the best is use an elemental HBG to get the wings than an IG to break that back. I can use my GL and basically break any leg easily

I would augment for affinity, health regen, and then get a status weapon if you want to go for raw. Sharpness awakening is super good because consecutive DPS. MAYBE put in a piece of a set bonus if it's apart of a specific set.
Considering they just revealed that Alatreon is coming to Iceborne, I like to imagine the developers at Capcom gave us the ability to craft such incredible tailor made weapons because we are going to NEED them.
Got a Horn with 5 star Attack, Attack Song List, and Affinity; 6 star sharpness; and Teo Secret. Now I just need to focus on regular augment stuff. It's a shame I can't seem to actually wrap my head around the GL enough to go after only what I need.
GoodSerTristan I’m a GL main, this is what I use on mine: - sharpness 6 - normal/long/wide 2 (this gives lvl 7 shells for normal and lvl 6 for long and wide, not sure yet if it’s possible to get them to lvl 7 too) - Zorah essence is the obvious choice, but Nargacuga is very solid too - for normal or wide I take affinity 5, for long I take defense - sharpness 5 will push you up to a decent chunk of natural purple with a long bar of white. For a sharpness hungry weapon I think it’s the best choice, but more attack or affinity might be more efficient for dps with normal or wide, not sure.

Hi, hope this helps. The awakened abilities are not the set bonus themselves, they just make the weapon count as a piece of the armor set that gives you that set bonus. For example to get the Teostra set bonus you need only equip two pieces with the weapons (as opposed to three) . You can also run further augments that apply to all rarity 12 weapons. Health augments are not available as upgrades. (only available as normal rarity 12 augment) If you roll a lvl 6 rarity attack ( or affinity VI or sharpness VI) it will downgrade any other level 6 augment you have to a level 5. You can only have one level 6 (among affinity, attack and sharpness) on your weapons. Hunting horns can change their melodies through the upgrade system. You can reroll abilities an infinite number of times but you can't change the element of the weapon. Don't judge them based on the awakened abilities on their own!
Man, I didn't know about the transformation so when my switch axe just suddenly became an enormous, jagged, flaming, axe of doom, I was caught of guard and pleasantly surprised. (PSA: Attack the head people! It's hard as balls to break alone and I need dem horns!)
Quick Tip! You can press triangle while choosing which dracolites to use to upgrade to automatically choose the best option to use. And then while choosing the upgrade you press triangle twice to store the potential.
From my experience it helps to not try and hold out for level 5 awakenings if you are looking to upgrade your weapon. The forced replacements mentioned in the video are part of the upgrade system where you actually get a high chance on your rolls to get an outright upgrade to an existing awakened skill, even at low potentials. Getting level 2 or 3 for each skill you want (say sharpness and attack) unlocked and upgrading them often works much quicker than holding out for that perfect RNG roll. I also believe level 6 will only roll as such an upgrade to a level 5 skill. Hope this helps people looking to get all those sweet sweet weapons.
I started doing that yesterday and it works like a charm. Just put base 1-3 stars useful awakenings you get on the first rolls, so your wpn is of some use, go fight the Safi'jiva with it, then you can start really optimizing. Generally I get one or two skills I want at 4-5 stars after each successful hunt. At the start I tried to hold out and burned to much components for nothing, don't do that. Also, don't die. Letting the monster flee rewards more components than if everyone gets carted, and you'll always have another chance to finish it :)
I’m gonna have full Brachydios set bonus and deviljho bonus with slugger decos. An exhaust phial switch axe with the rocksteady technique, it’ll be glorious, 7 agitator, 5 stamina thief, 3 slugger. Holy Jabroni
I’m actually happy that the set bonus skills don’t give you the full version of that skill. If so, that would’ve completely broken the game. Edit: people commenting are obviously misunderstanding what I meant. I have no problem with player power. I do have a problem with one monster being the only viable source for gear/weapons for that power. In the end it’s just my opinion.
Some bitches would disagree. On mhgu i had an op cheated charm. Just had handicraft 3 and earplug 3. Got kicked out of a group cuz sum lil bitch apparently didn't want the hunt to go a little faster/ smoother. Wasnt like i did a 1 hit kill cheat, or invulnerability. Hell I've been in groups with those ppl and it was awesome. Alatreon got very boring. The older games had the worst drop rate.
I got the Poison Safi'jiiva Charge Blade on my second run. It's so much better than the Acidic Glavenus Charge Blade, I don't know if it's better than the Gold Rathian Charge Blade, but it's so much more comfy to use than what I had I am glad this exist.

Omg finally this was a god send, i swore i wasnt going to spend any dracolite until someone made a more in depth guide explaining how it is exactly the system works, its kinda of over whelming, but it also makes me question the system a bit its pretty much like farming for decorations except your farming for skills to juice up your weapons. but at some point you at least for the most part are going to feel like your weapons perfect so does that mean their either going to add more additional skills later and if thats the case does that mean theres no exact cap on the weapons potential then ?
The first 2-3 weapons will be the one you have equiped when you get the rewards So you can get other wepons you want to use, just switch them after the hunt
I was hoping they would have high elemental, but it seems really low even when you invest in it. If there is a cool mixed set with monster skills I might invest in a few, but for now I don't think they will be substantially better than gold Rathian, atleast not enough for me to grind away my free time.

Jesus, my friends and I just picked up Iceborne recently and I'm only 180 hours into the entire game, both base and Iceborne. The depth of this game is overwhelming, there is so much I don't know. But damn it's exciting as hell, I'm so pumped to get these sexy ass weapons 🤩
For the bowguns, how much variation is there in the ammo types that they can use and which ones should I be on the lookout for as being useful/useable?
you can probably find a better bowgun from other monsters...I find the sifa bowguns rather lacking in many ways...All my personal bowguns needs are met by Rajang destroyer....endless famine and solemn reflection. I found most siege found bowguns least HBG rather lacking in general.

I have just started learning duel blades, does this mean between the normal augments, and the safi augments... that one of these tailored in each element would be best in slot for duel blades? I thought there is a pair of current dragon duel blades that have crazy natural dragon element
I'm an offline player, got to iceborne kinda late but just reached MR 69 but hit the wall at tempered brachy and glavenus, had no idea beating saiifi unlocked these things. Going online for the first time today to farm this guy, hopefully it'll make reaching fatalis easier
I don't really care for min-maxing and just wanna have a potent SnS. Now I have with Sharpness VI, Sharpness V, Sharpness V, Attack V, Attack V an SnS with a huge purple bar, as much attack as the Goldian SnS, 180 Blast and a level 4 slot. I think I'm more than satisfied about how this turned out.
I hope this game keeps going and getting updates for many more years. Also hope it gets a release or a bumped up backwards compatibility with the next gen consoles. Also since my head is in the clouds it be great if Nintendo does announce a more powerful system next year that Monster Hunter World with all it's current content makes it to that platform as well. The game is so good I want it to keep on going.

I got a Blast LS that had it yesterday, I'm still trying to figure out which waist piece to replace it with, I didn't have much time to sit there but I did the Nerg B+ and basically traded the 2 blast attack for 2 more points in Attack, but I'm sure there will be a different waist piece that will be better
For real. I dont like the eye. The other Safi jiva weapons are pretty draconic in theme. But the Charge blade, Switch Axe, Insect glaive seem more demonic than Dragon.
@@introvertedwall44 That's basically how end game weapons and armor have always been. When you wear Fatalis armor the description says you can feel it's murderous rage trying to overtake you. It has lore associated with the armor that the armor will over take you and grow into another Fatalis. We slay these Monsters sure but kill them? That's a little complicated.
Let's be honest guys these weapons are pretty much the best weapons in the game sure they might not be the best element wise but with some armor builds it makes it up. I love these weapons and are pretty easy to make and for those who might not like grinding the guiding lands and are able to pick up op weapons. I mean for crying out loud pretty much everyone I see online is using these weapons so yeah its pretty much the best weapon in the game. And you can still augment on top of what you have so honestly if you guys haven't pick up these weapons do it now as alteron is coming soon I can tell that the fight won't be easy.
Uraguaan’s Essence: You can block unblockable attacks! Guard Up, if I remember correctly. Plus Iron Wall, which reduces reactions to attacks beings blocked, and Offensive Guard!
I'm screaming because he replaced Sharpness 5 with Sharpness 6 but left Sharpness 2 on the weapon. Can you not stack Sharpness 5 and 6, or was that legitimately an infuriating mistake? XD EDIT: Later in the video he's replaced Sharpness 2 with Sharpness 4, so yeah, it looks like that was just a massive mistake. XD

I need to point out. Look above your rolled options. It will say add or augment (add let's you overwrite any slot while augment will just increase the selected skill 1 lvl)
A tip he didn't give is "aim for the skill you want the most first". When the awakening level is low, it only costs 8pts to roll and it goes to 20pts at a certain level. Building potential to get that Level-5 rainbow skill costs a lot less early on. I'd also suggest the same for the "+1part Armor Abilities" since there are quite a few monsters in the game and getting the right one may take some time.
Actually you are at the mercy of the rng that way because while it is cheaper to roll, you will be seeing lv 1 - lv 3 stats more often. At higher awakening levels it becomes easier to roll a lv 5 and then a lv 6 of that skill.
@@Omegaman025 The dream Hammer is really whatever you want it to be. Blast is just nice because it's free damage and part breaks every here and there. Some people might like Para or Poison better, but you can get a lot out of Blast.

The saafi parts are also used to upgrade the xeno weapons. Don't sacrifice your parts to the the elder melder until having a look at the upgraded versions
I just roll with Masters touch, Sharpness VI, Sharpness V, Attack V and Attack V. With Safi B head, Chest and legs. Then Teo Arms and Belt. I've got attack 7, expert 7, Agitator 5, Resentment 4, Crit boost 3 and Weakness exploit 2. 100% Crit and hits like a truck.
Yeah this makes up for the no transmog on weapons I think. I mean it's basically build a weapon workshop , minus the final physical outcome. Also thx arekkz for always dropping the knowledge
You can change your weapon before you go to appraise, so you can hunt Safi with a greatsword and change to a longsword in your item box and then go appraise and you get a guaranteed longsword Instead of greatsword.
Just in case it hasn't been set yet, if you meld the safijiva parts at elder melder, it will rerole for 3 more weapons. Yes, you keep all three. No, you aren't guaranteed a weapon you have equipped for this process.
I need the Blast dual blades and the Burst cannon so I am on a farming spree. Also this event plus all the content coming out makes Iceborne one of the best DLCs I have ever purchased for any game.
Safi weapons are so stupidly good - I'm running an Atk V, V, VI, Affinity V and Masters touch blast LS, because in my 500 hrs playing I haven't gotten a single critical jewel, so I switch out Teo's braces for Shara (for Critical boost x2). This system's so damn good

Atk melodie 2 and 3 are over all the best songs 2 if you want the hp boost with R2 or if you dont need it than atk songs 3 is the best i mean purple, red, blue is allround as fck it supports every weapon and can support bow and db users with stamina and dont have most of the time shity songs like purple ,sky blue , blue tool boost is nice but no atk or element/status buff is shit
The mechanic of storing potential into an awakened weapon when hitting Safi'Jiiva sounds very similar to the Deviant Weapons in GU where they charge up the Hunter Arts faster.
Arekkz missed this but, the trick to get "6 star" you want to get to awakened level 18-22 which awakened level is basically how many stars you have. So don't store the potential, add something each time to get at least a star to raise the level. Once you get to a point you have to store to avoid overriding a good increase. You'll see your skills get to 5 star must faster than having one skill on the weapon waiting for a 5 star by storing. I hope he remakes this after he does this.
My first hunt i used gunlance and it gave me the poison one with normal 7 shelling built in as the awakened ability roll. Its amazing. The only thing that sucks is i constantly feel like i am wasting materials on an inefficient way of making a perfect weapon and could have done it with less, even though it is 100% RNG.

I have a longsword with +30% affinity, enhanced sharpness to reach purple and masters touch with an extra slot 2 & (1 from augment) deco slots. I haven't even made the armor yet...
So sad I started playing recently. It's so hard trying to get a full team to hunt Safi, and sadly I'm not good enough to hunt him solo. Best weapon and armor I have is lightbreak edge with teo/raging brachy armor and I was lucky to get help with those
at 7:35 you could have easily dropped the sharpness level 6 onto the sharpness level 2 instead of the 5, that way you would have gotten sharpness increase 5 & 6. just had to get that off my chest lol

Killer King yup. Elder seal weapons rapidly drains its energy. The more players that use them in the hub the easier it is to two run him.

I would augment for affinity, health regen, and then get a status weapon if you want to go for raw. Sharpness awakening is super good because consecutive DPS. MAYBE put in a piece of a set bonus if it's apart of a specific set.

Considering they just revealed that Alatreon is coming to Iceborne, I like to imagine the developers at Capcom gave us the ability to craft such incredible tailor made weapons because we are going to NEED them.
I got nerg's essence, defence 5, affinity 5, attack 5, and sharpness 5 with a poison ailment. Its beautiful in my eyes
Got a Horn with 5 star Attack, Attack Song List, and Affinity; 6 star sharpness; and Teo Secret. Now I just need to focus on regular augment stuff. It's a shame I can't seem to actually wrap my head around the GL enough to go after only what I need.
I've got attack v, attack v, attack v, attack v, attack vi with blast ailment.
Except for the longsword, that has 2 sharpness mods too
GoodSerTristan I’m a GL main, this is what I use on mine:
- sharpness 6
- normal/long/wide 2 (this gives lvl 7 shells for normal and lvl 6 for long and wide, not sure yet if it’s possible to get them to lvl 7 too)
- Zorah essence is the obvious choice, but Nargacuga is very solid too
- for normal or wide I take affinity 5, for long I take defense
- sharpness 5 will push you up to a decent chunk of natural purple with a long bar of white. For a sharpness hungry weapon I think it’s the best choice, but more attack or affinity might be more efficient for dps with normal or wide, not sure.
Get that defense off my man. Defense is a very weak stat, you need lots to make a difference. It's a poor investment.

The awakened abilities are not the set bonus themselves, they just make the weapon count as a piece of the armor set that gives you that set bonus. For example to get the Teostra set bonus you need only equip two pieces with the weapons (as opposed to three) .
You can also run further augments that apply to all rarity 12 weapons.
Health augments are not available as upgrades. (only available as normal rarity 12 augment)
If you roll a lvl 6 rarity attack ( or affinity VI or sharpness VI) it will downgrade any other level 6 augment you have to a level 5. You can only have one level 6 (among affinity, attack and sharpness) on your weapons.
Hunting horns can change their melodies through the upgrade system.
You can reroll abilities an infinite number of times but you can't change the element of the weapon. Don't judge them based on the awakened abilities on their own!
Man, I didn't know about the transformation so when my switch axe just suddenly became an enormous, jagged, flaming, axe of doom, I was caught of guard and pleasantly surprised. (PSA: Attack the head people! It's hard as balls to break alone and I need dem horns!)

Use Crit eye 7, one affinity V augment and wear full Safi :3

You're too right 🤣🤣 I have a poison switch axe that has 1/3 masters touch, Status up 4 and the rest scaling from Attk Incr. 5 down. Massacre!!!
Quick Tip! You can press triangle while choosing which dracolites to use to upgrade to automatically choose the best option to use. And then while choosing the upgrade you press triangle twice to store the potential.

From my experience it helps to not try and hold out for level 5 awakenings if you are looking to upgrade your weapon. The forced replacements mentioned in the video are part of the upgrade system where you actually get a high chance on your rolls to get an outright upgrade to an existing awakened skill, even at low potentials. Getting level 2 or 3 for each skill you want (say sharpness and attack) unlocked and upgrading them often works much quicker than holding out for that perfect RNG roll. I also believe level 6 will only roll as such an upgrade to a level 5 skill.

I started doing that yesterday and it works like a charm. Just put base 1-3 stars useful awakenings you get on the first rolls, so your wpn is of some use, go fight the Safi'jiva with it, then you can start really optimizing. Generally I get one or two skills I want at 4-5 stars after each successful hunt.
At the start I tried to hold out and burned to much components for nothing, don't do that. Also, don't die. Letting the monster flee rewards more components than if everyone gets carted, and you'll always have another chance to finish it :)
I already got my GS 3 level 5 attack, level 6 defense and nergigante essence and still farming for more this update made my char so good I like it
I went with lvl 5 sharpness and lvl 6 attack and 3 lvl 5 attack.
I’m gonna have full Brachydios set bonus and deviljho bonus with slugger decos. An exhaust phial switch axe with the rocksteady technique, it’ll be glorious, 7 agitator, 5 stamina thief, 3 slugger. Holy Jabroni
I’m actually happy that the set bonus skills don’t give you the full version of that skill. If so, that would’ve completely broken the game.
Edit: people commenting are obviously misunderstanding what I meant. I have no problem with player power. I do have a problem with one monster being the only viable source for gear/weapons for that power. In the end it’s just my opinion.

Got kicked out of a group cuz sum lil bitch apparently didn't want the hunt to go a little faster/ smoother. Wasnt like i did a 1 hit kill cheat, or invulnerability. Hell I've been in groups with those ppl and it was awesome. Alatreon got very boring. The older games had the worst drop rate.

It's so much better than the Acidic Glavenus Charge Blade, I don't know if it's better than the Gold Rathian Charge Blade, but it's so much more comfy to use than what I had I am glad this exist.

Omg finally this was a god send, i swore i wasnt going to spend any dracolite until someone made a more in depth guide explaining how it is exactly the system works, its kinda of over whelming, but it also makes me question the system a bit its pretty much like farming for decorations except your farming for skills to juice up your weapons. but at some point you at least for the most part are going to feel like your weapons perfect so does that mean their either going to add more additional skills later and if thats the case does that mean theres no exact cap on the weapons potential then ?
The first 2-3 weapons will be the one you have equiped when you get the rewards
So you can get other wepons you want to use, just switch them after the hunt
I was hoping they would have high elemental, but it seems really low even when you invest in it.
If there is a cool mixed set with monster skills I might invest in a few, but for now I don't think they will be substantially better than gold Rathian, atleast not enough for me to grind away my free time.

3 piece safii and 2 piece nami armor will boost your element by 220 if I’m not mistaken. Nami gives 90 and safii gives 130. Correct me if I’m wrong

its gives 90 elemental value with a elemental boost V. you stack 4 for them then you get a 540 elemental value weapon wth over 300 raw.

Jesus, my friends and I just picked up Iceborne recently and I'm only 180 hours into the entire game, both base and Iceborne. The depth of this game is overwhelming, there is so much I don't know. But damn it's exciting as hell, I'm so pumped to get these sexy ass weapons 🤩

you can probably find a better bowgun from other monsters...I find the sifa bowguns rather lacking in many ways...All my personal bowguns needs are met by Rajang destroyer....endless famine and solemn reflection. I found most siege found bowguns least HBG rather lacking in general.

Now I have with Sharpness VI, Sharpness V, Sharpness V, Attack V, Attack V an SnS with a huge purple bar, as much attack as the Goldian SnS, 180 Blast and a level 4 slot.
I think I'm more than satisfied about how this turned out.
I hope this game keeps going and getting updates for many more years. Also hope it gets a release or a bumped up backwards compatibility with the next gen consoles. Also since my head is in the clouds it be great if Nintendo does announce a more powerful system next year that Monster Hunter World with all it's current content makes it to that platform as well. The game is so good I want it to keep on going.

I got a Blast LS that had it yesterday, I'm still trying to figure out which waist piece to replace it with, I didn't have much time to sit there but I did the Nerg B+ and basically traded the 2 blast attack for 2 more points in Attack, but I'm sure there will be a different waist piece that will be better

I love all the weapons but the only thing that really bugs me is eye the charge blade has when you charge your phials it’s just really weird to me xD
For real. I dont like the eye. The other Safi jiva weapons are pretty draconic in theme. But the Charge blade, Switch Axe, Insect glaive seem more demonic than Dragon.
@@introvertedwall44 That's basically how end game weapons and armor have always been. When you wear Fatalis armor the description says you can feel it's murderous rage trying to overtake you. It has lore associated with the armor that the armor will over take you and grow into another Fatalis. We slay these Monsters sure but kill them? That's a little complicated.

Let's be honest guys these weapons are pretty much the best weapons in the game sure they might not be the best element wise but with some armor builds it makes it up. I love these weapons and are pretty easy to make and for those who might not like grinding the guiding lands and are able to pick up op weapons. I mean for crying out loud pretty much everyone I see online is using these weapons so yeah its pretty much the best weapon in the game. And you can still augment on top of what you have so honestly if you guys haven't pick up these weapons do it now as alteron is coming soon I can tell that the fight won't be easy.

Damn, props to the Monster Hunter Team. They like legit identified some issues with Kulve Taroth, and fixed them while still keeping the game fun and balanced. Just got to the Guiding Lands, so I hope to hop into this like, soon!
I need to point out. Look above your rolled options. It will say add or augment (add let's you overwrite any slot while augment will just increase the selected skill 1 lvl)
A tip he didn't give is "aim for the skill you want the most first". When the awakening level is low, it only costs 8pts to roll and it goes to 20pts at a certain level. Building potential to get that Level-5 rainbow skill costs a lot less early on. I'd also suggest the same for the "+1part Armor Abilities" since there are quite a few monsters in the game and getting the right one may take some time.
Actually you are at the mercy of the rng that way because while it is cheaper to roll, you will be seeing lv 1 - lv 3 stats more often. At higher awakening levels it becomes easier to roll a lv 5 and then a lv 6 of that skill.
I didn't test that. I do know that there are a lot of Abilities and looking for a specific one is hard.
Got the dream Hammer and SnS (Blast and Poison respectively). Now I just need that Para and/or Blast Lance and I'll be so set.

@@Omegaman025 The dream Hammer is really whatever you want it to be. Blast is just nice because it's free damage and part breaks every here and there. Some people might like Para or Poison better, but you can get a lot out of Blast.

The saafi parts are also used to upgrade the xeno weapons. Don't sacrifice your parts to the the elder melder until having a look at the upgraded versions

I just roll with Masters touch, Sharpness VI, Sharpness V, Attack V and Attack V. With Safi B head, Chest and legs. Then Teo Arms and Belt. I've got attack 7, expert 7, Agitator 5, Resentment 4, Crit boost 3 and Weakness exploit 2. 100% Crit and hits like a truck.
Yeah this makes up for the no transmog on weapons I think. I mean it's basically build a weapon workshop , minus the final physical outcome. Also thx arekkz for always dropping the knowledge

For Dual Blades builds slap a Velk Skill on it imo, then you only need 1 Velk Armor Piece. Tada, Crit Element for cheap
You can change your weapon before you go to appraise, so you can hunt Safi with a greatsword and change to a longsword in your item box and then go appraise and you get a guaranteed longsword Instead of greatsword.
I store potential till lvl. 14 in order to get master's touch. Finally get it 💪
U can also change the weapon after the quest before taking your rewards... for the last weapon to be the one u got equipped!
Just in case it hasn't been set yet, if you meld the safijiva parts at elder melder, it will rerole for 3 more weapons. Yes, you keep all three. No, you aren't guaranteed a weapon you have equipped for this process.
I need the Blast dual blades and the Burst cannon so I am on a farming spree. Also this event plus all the content coming out makes Iceborne one of the best DLCs I have ever purchased for any game.

Safi weapons are so stupidly good - I'm running an Atk V, V, VI, Affinity V and Masters touch blast LS, because in my 500 hrs playing I haven't gotten a single critical jewel, so I switch out Teo's braces for Shara (for Critical boost x2). This system's so damn good

Atk melodie 2 and 3 are over all the best songs 2 if you want the hp boost with R2 or if you dont need it than atk songs 3 is the best i mean purple, red, blue is allround as fck it supports every weapon and can support bow and db users with stamina and dont have most of the time shity songs like purple ,sky blue , blue tool boost is nice but no atk or element/status buff is shit

The mechanic of storing potential into an awakened weapon when hitting Safi'Jiiva sounds very similar to the Deviant Weapons in GU where they charge up the Hunter Arts faster.

FYI you can get to extremely high numbers until you get what you want, I had a store potential of 50 until I got long level 6 for my GL
Arekkz missed this but, the trick to get "6 star" you want to get to awakened level 18-22 which awakened level is basically how many stars you have. So don't store the potential, add something each time to get at least a star to raise the level. Once you get to a point you have to store to avoid overriding a good increase. You'll see your skills get to 5 star must faster than having one skill on the weapon waiting for a 5 star by storing. I hope he remakes this after he does this.

My first hunt i used gunlance and it gave me the poison one with normal 7 shelling built in as the awakened ability roll. Its amazing. The only thing that sucks is i constantly feel like i am wasting materials on an inefficient way of making a perfect weapon and could have done it with less, even though it is 100% RNG.
I'm still hitting myself for not doing this when it first started, finally got to progress through enough to participate.

So sad I started playing recently. It's so hard trying to get a full team to hunt Safi, and sadly I'm not good enough to hunt him solo. Best weapon and armor I have is lightbreak edge with teo/raging brachy armor and I was lucky to get help with those

at 7:35 you could have easily dropped the sharpness level 6 onto the sharpness level 2 instead of the 5,
that way you would have gotten sharpness increase 5 & 6.
