Swap chest and gloves teo/safi, and use attack charm. Awaken weapon Teo,sharp VI, aff Vx2, att V. Aug weap for one Affinity. Now you need 2 handicraft jewels. Baam, infinite purple & 100crit without having to bother with weak spots.
I like the idea of "Chasing the Meta" more than "here is best build" because not everyone will have the most optimal gems. It's a great way to help get started, I appreciate it!
Who_Else_ But_Dee You often get one or two decorations, which come in feystones, normally after each hunt, though they usually aren't that good. If you want to farm decorations efficiently you'll want to do tempered investigations. In addition to the 1-2 decorations you'd get from a normal hunt, you also get a bunch of extra decorations determined by the number of purple boxes you see at the bottom of an investigation. The highest number of boxes you can get in a tempered investigation is I believe 5 meaning you can get roughly around 7 decorations per hunt. Not only does this give you more decorations, it also gives you rarer feystones that have a higher chance of giving you really good decorations. The higher the tier of the tempered investigation, the rarer feystones you get which means better decorations. You can see the tier of the investigation by looking at the number of purple flames you see next to it. The highest tier is 3 and consists mostly of tempered elder dragons. There's no way to automatically get the specific decorations you want but this will increase your chances of getting them. This is how speed runners farm decorations as well. I hope all that helps.

SlamBoi I'm a casual min maxer I take the meta sets and put my spin on them, be it via utility and/or survivability skills I'm comfy with taking a min or two more than speedrunners (more like 10min to be honest) Unless it is a HAME run and people don't cart left and right or simply camp letting others do the hunting, everything should be fine
I've got a set I've had to crap ton of fun using built around the Iai system. Using odo and barioth parts you have punish/crit draw, speed sharpen/protective polish, and quick sheathe. I use Narga weapons for the purple sharpness. This set is so much fun to me
Perfect set. My only difference is that I added 5 levels of resentment since the set benefits a whole lot from it and I don’t have anything else like Agitator+ 4. Like you said before, not everyone has specific decorations.
Damn the Safi jiva dlc is so fulfilling and satisfying. So much has been poured into it and it's so detailed and fun to do on top of it. I love it so much thank you Capcom!!!

Mixed set mondays is probably the best way to see how others play and try out their builds and decos are just basically mix and match as much as you can. Long story short... thank you Arekkz
I wanted to make a build like this back before iceborne but couldn't get it to completely work. I bare bones it with like high affinity weapons and max crit eye and weakness exploit, and even thjen I couldn't get it to work cuz I didn't have the damage to back it up. The basics of this build is achievable then what I had before. You sir are a godsend. Cheers

I made this set almost the exact same way when I first got Teostra Technique on my first safi hammer (dragon). The only difference in the armor was that, because I had a critical jewel and really love the way the safi waist piece, I used the Teostra head and arms with Safi chest, waist, and legs. Minor difference done purely for fashion, and also because my hammer wasnt blast.

Regardless of what anybody says I always look for your video if I’m looking for help with this apocalyptically-grindy, stun-fest of a game. Fantastic game, don’t get me wrong I absolutely adore monster hunter world and the DLC but man, oh man, do I get frustrated because I don’t have the right gems. So thank you.
I think what you are doing is perfect. The people that are compatibility obviously don't listen or are not all there up top. If they don't like it they can make their own videos. Keep doing what you're doing, I love it!
important to add that you don't get the safi set bonus w/ iai attacks on LS as the weapon is sheathed. it's not very comfy to have noncrits on iai attacks :c it's better to run with the teostra helm, brute tigrex/kirin chest, and garuga legs. they have enough slots/skills to easily get 100% affinity w/ master's touch. this set Does work well with other melee weapons tho.
The reason you rarely see "Long sword builds" is because they don't require any special stats. Whatever you're running for hammer or SNS or dual blades (etc) works just fine with LS. Just search for damage sets and you'll be fine.
This is a great series idea. I personally think alot of the fun of monster hunter is finding creative ways to make the most of the decos you have, rather than just chasing the ones you want.
I think you guys should do a video on how to use skills and explain what skills specifically do, i see alot of TH-camrs mention skills and how they are used but I mean a full explanation on all skills and how they can be utilised, I played mh casualy since I was 8 and now only understand, I think it would help alot of hunters out

I do appreciate the idea of teostra , I did find an improvement . If you awaken the weapon with sharpness 6 and add two handicraft gems , you hit purple . After this you just have to use gems that increase affinity and you can actually hit natural 100 % affinity without Tenderizer .

You can also use recovery up to counteract the damage you’re doing to yourself. It not only procs when having an health augment on every hit, but also on the big heal after a certain amount of hits.
I did this with a safi blast switch axe Safi b helm/arms/legs Teostra b chest/pants Teostra technique, sharpess 5 and 3x affinity 5/6 gives 100% crit regardless of where you hit and never can lose sharpness, permanent purple sharpness so no deflecting either. The armour pieces also gives 3 gem slots each ranging from 1-4
I have 3 piece odogoron 2 piece bariath and Nargacuga sword. Critical Draw, Quick Sheath, Critical Boost(when I can get a gem), Speed Sharpen. Ultimate samurai build. Doesn't stay infinitely sharp like this one but 1-pulse sharpen that's protected is good. Plus, punishing draw means I can be a slicer and smasher and even stun. Punishing draw is fun! All draw attacks are at 100% affinity and normal attacks are around 50% affinity.
I actually just made a HH set using these armor pieces the other day, it does indeed have hella synergy with the safi blast weapons, BUT it can be fairly dangerous if you aren't careful with your health, carted a few times when trying it out but it's hella strong
You can get to 100% affinity without tenderizer or the Safi set. It lets you crit all the time wether you are hitting weak points or not and you don’t have to worry about the Safi set killing your health. Just use beta of Teostra head, chest and waist, Garuga greaves and w/e arms you want(I use Stygian for part breaker) and 3 expert jewels. Then on the Safi weapon just go 3 affinity enhancements(one at 6) and 2 sharpness for purp then augment the weapon with 3 affinity augments. You get 100% affinity, w/e charm you want and 5(6 with Stygian arms) lvl 4 slots, a few lvl2 and 3 lvl 1 that you slot expert jewels into.
Sets ass, find the nearest cliff side overlooking a large body of water usually inhabited by life of the marine variety, preferrably after u equip part breaker 3 tho Sincerely the meta man
I personally use this set however I use the safi gloves and the teo chest plus affintiy v increase on the weapon and a sharpness increase for a natural %100 crit chance without the need for any critical eye or wex. just a thought and then you have a bunch more slots and the added bonus on being able to hit the monster anywhere.
If you trade two Attack V's for two Critical V's you can skip WEX altogether. In which case, trade the Teo Arms for the Teo Chest piece and Safi Arms and your golden(er, red?). But since you're ignoring hit zones, Mind's Eye jewel might be in order depending on match-up(although half of LS moveset has innate Mind's Eye).
Cant wait for the greatsword build. Was never much of a build maker but I'm Currently using safi blast gs with a grinder/handicraft jewel and teo skill sharpness 6 and 5 , and 2 attack lvl 5's. Not sure what to augment. Rajang helm b , damascus chest b , teo gloves and belt b , and garuga greaves b with random jewels on them . either use handicraft of master necklace. Looking forward to seeing how bad i did on the build.

The armour pieces also gives 3 gem slots each ranging from 1-4
I have 3 piece odogoron 2 piece bariath and Nargacuga sword. Critical Draw, Quick Sheath, Critical Boost(when I can get a gem), Speed Sharpen. Ultimate samurai build. Doesn't stay infinitely sharp like this one but 1-pulse sharpen that's protected is good. Plus, punishing draw means I can be a slicer and smasher and even stun. Punishing draw is fun!
All draw attacks are at 100% affinity and normal attacks are around 50% affinity.

Teostra + Acidic Glav/Glav can be a nice substitute for Safis. Longsword doesnt use stamina for most attacks and makes it easy to get 100% crit.

I actually just made a HH set using these armor pieces the other day, it does indeed have hella synergy with the safi blast weapons, BUT it can be fairly dangerous if you aren't careful with your health, carted a few times when trying it out but it's hella strong

You can get to 100% affinity without tenderizer or the Safi set. It lets you crit all the time wether you are hitting weak points or not and you don’t have to worry about the Safi set killing your health. Just use beta of Teostra head, chest and waist, Garuga greaves and w/e arms you want(I use Stygian for part breaker) and 3 expert jewels. Then on the Safi weapon just go 3 affinity enhancements(one at 6) and 2 sharpness for purp then augment the weapon with 3 affinity augments. You get 100% affinity, w/e charm you want and 5(6 with Stygian arms) lvl 4 slots, a few lvl2 and 3 lvl 1 that you slot expert jewels into.
I love the series! As someone with only 250 hours in game most of my builds can’t be meta and have to be hodgepodge.
Sets ass, find the nearest cliff side overlooking a large body of water usually inhabited by life of the marine variety, preferrably after u equip part breaker 3 tho

I personally use this set however I use the safi gloves and the teo chest plus affintiy v increase on the weapon and a sharpness increase for a natural %100 crit chance without the need for any critical eye or wex. just a thought and then you have a bunch more slots and the added bonus on being able to hit the monster anywhere.
If you trade two Attack V's for two Critical V's you can skip WEX altogether. In which case, trade the Teo Arms for the Teo Chest piece and Safi Arms and your golden(er, red?). But since you're ignoring hit zones, Mind's Eye jewel might be in order depending on match-up(although half of LS moveset has innate Mind's Eye).

Cant wait for the greatsword build. Was never much of a build maker but I'm Currently using safi blast gs with a grinder/handicraft jewel and teo skill sharpness 6 and 5 , and 2 attack lvl 5's. Not sure what to augment. Rajang helm b , damascus chest b , teo gloves and belt b , and garuga greaves b with random jewels on them . either use handicraft of master necklace. Looking forward to seeing how bad i did on the build.
