A clinical psychologist friend of mine volunteers for a charity that helps victims who have escaped trafficking and the stories they tell are horrifying. Many of these victims tried to tell the people they were forced to have sex with that they were being held against their will, and the johns did nothing. The johns paying for sex could see their injuries yet did nothing. All of these men paying for these vulnerable women are just as big a problem as the traffickers themselves, maybe even worse because they should know better. The traffickers are criminals. The johns are the ones driving these crimes

If a person does something nice for another with the expectation of a direct (sexual) return, that is not actually showing an interest in that person, only an interest in sex. If a person wants a casual sexual relationship that's fine, but they should be up front about it rather than have a tit-for-that 'I do this for you, you do this for me,' setting up a feeling of obligation in the other person. Such relationships are not sustainable except in rare cases where both parties explicitly WANT a transactional relationship.

I know someone who used to pretend to be 14yo when she was 17yo. The number of creeps that would approach her in chatrooms was sickening. She used to make them pay upfront for a cam show, then told them to f*ck off or ghost them once they paid her. She was underage, in a different country, and they wanted CP so they couldn't go to the police. The only person who really threatened her with contacting the authorities was some creepy guy in his 50's, who had a wife and teenage daughters. She told him to go right ahead...suprise suprise, he reported her to no one. She built up some healthy savings from doing that, and I don't feel an ounce of sympathy for anyone she scammed.
Tony admitted to violating multiple federal laws regarding human trafficking AND provided evidence. Even if the victim wasn’t real, he should be reported to authorities ASAP. Law enforcement needs to have been contacted in this case and I hope social catfish did their due diligence here

I volunteer for a anti human trafficking organization and this is very troubling behavior. I recommend contacting the feds and letting them know about this guy and at least put him on their watchlist. Guys like him are the reason these traffickers have a demand.

All of these men paying for these vulnerable women are just as big a problem as the traffickers themselves, maybe even worse because they should know better. The traffickers are criminals. If a person does something nice for another with the expectation of a direct (sexual) return, that is not actually showing an interest in that person, only an interest in sex. If a person wants a casual sexual relationship that's fine, but they should be up front about it rather than have a tit-for-that 'I do this for you, you do this for me,' setting up a feeling of obligation in the other person. Such relationships are not sustainable except in rare cases where both parties explicitly WANT a transactional relationship.

I know someone who used to pretend to be 14yo when she was 17yo. The number of creeps that would approach her in chatrooms was sickening. She used to make them pay upfront for a cam show, then told them to f*ck off or ghost them once they paid her. She was underage, in a different country, and they wanted CP so they couldn't go to the police.
The only person who really threatened her with contacting the authorities was some creepy guy in his 50's, who had a wife and teenage daughters. She told him to go right ahead...suprise suprise, he reported her to no one.

Incidentally, this is precisely why some online scammers pretend to be offering illegal services like this. It's in many ways more beneficial just to pretend you're offering a service rather than ACTUALLY doing it because there are fewer costs, less work and it's much less risky because you aren't leaving a trail of physical evidence. Personally, if a woman contacted me online and after a while she revealed that she was a victim of sex trafficking, I wouldn't even care if she was sincere about being into me. I would see this as her way of reaching out to somebody - anybody - and getting their attention so that the authorities could be contacted and save her.
