Hua Chenyu was in 2014 the only one who sang in Huenglish. He was very very special 😊😊 and the pianist is fire 🔥🔥

This is early in his career, but I think he killled it with his performance, so epic for me as a Martian. And he always chooses the best musicians, and gives them space when he is changimg outfits and need a break. These are amazing🎉 Thank you 🙏

That was his debut concert. All tickets were sold and he was wondering what should he sing.

Thank you for your analysis! I like this performance very much. It is completely Hua Chenyu's style and it is not easy to understand. For Martians, it is fantastic.

This is not a popular version for most but I really love this performance as he really feels the painful meaning of the song. Knowing how he grew up being bullied and feeling like an outsider even during his debut you just feel for him. Personally I think he really sold the meaning of the song. Even his exaggerated pronunciation of the words were creepy. Yes it's a bit out there, but that's what I like about it. It's Hua style like no other.

Thanks for a really good reaction.
I always find it interesting to see these old performances and how far Hua Chenyu has come on in his performance, especially as it is in the middle of a concert, HuaHua is such a consistant performer, I've watched some of the complete concerts that are available online and have been impressed with how he maintains the standard throughout, every song gets its own treatment and none are "filler"which is kind of unusual, yes he chats a fair bit, but his concerts are long compared to a lot of artists I have seen live, so the fans definitely get their moneys worth!

I agree...He has come a long ways, his performances even more refined. I love it when he chats (translated) with his Martians, because he is so open and transparent, honest and caring, funny and vulnerable. Makes you love him even more. 🥰

One of the multitude of things I love about Hua Chenyu is what you see here. Instead of stopping the song and interrupting the flow, the band carries on, and when they're finished, Hua Chenyu has changed and is back on stage to introduce another song. There's no feeling of disconnection. Plus, the band gets to shine. Hua Hua is always helping other people to shine, even telling one of his backup singers that if she gets her own concert, he will come as one of her backup singers. There is no one like him. ❤❤❤

Maybe this is not the best Creep cover… but… there is something special about HuaHua expresion emotions in this. I know that you prefere his original ones but I will keep showing you the early stage of his career. You could see his struggle to find himself, to open up. This is very touching for me…

Had to pause in the middle to agree with you about something. These lyrics are indeed haunting. The line "your skin makes me cry" just kills me. I love HuaHua's version of this song, I love pretty much everything he does, but I suppose it's not for everyone. He was still fairly inexperienced when he did this, but I think the last minute or so is as good as anything he's done. He was extremely patient with this performance. Your word choice of broken (broken down) really struck a chord with me. He looks so broken when he's lowered under the stage. He always provides some opportunity for the band member to shine; this is it for this concert.
Baby Bamboo is the user name for the woman/team who does a lot of translations of HuaHua's work. In this instance, she or they worked backwards--translating from English to Mandarin.

Creo que sí volviera a cantar esta canción lo haría totalmente diferente. ✨ Cada canción que interpreta le da su toque especial. 🌺
No debe ser fácil cantar en una lengua distinta a la de origen. Gracias por tu reacción.

I was skeptical when I first came across Hua covering this song. As you said, it's been covered so many times, by all types of singers/genres etc. But there's a point during Huas performance where you can actually feel, as in literally feel the pain. No one conveys emotion like he does. Maybe I'm a bit extra sensitive, but I almost had to look away at one point. It felt like watching innocense gasping for air after being beaten down by.......life ❤‍🩹
    Love your reactions ❤

As always, I really appreciate your reaction to Hua Hua. He killed it as far as expressing the emotions of the song, of being broken, defeated, in anguish. You could feel it in his performance...but, I agree his English was not the best here. Still very early in his career. I love that Hua Hua allows his band to shine (amazing instrumentation), when he goes off stage to do a quick costume change (about 5 mins). Thanks Rosa for your request!😘😘

Fil, I have to agree about his performance until he gets to that punch, which then goes epic. Loving the arrangement and musicianship.

Thank you for this reaction. I have been listening to a lot of Hua Hua since I happened on another of your reactions to one of his songs.
Thank you for revealing him to me. I have listened to little else since. I am completely hooked. I don't think that he is the best vocalist that's out there. But the way he delivers the emotions? When I listened to "I am what I am" - the Super Boy version - my tears left my eyes uncontrollably and I am not one to tear up easily. He embodies his songs and delivers them to the world. I also like a lot that he sings about very unusual things in today's pop culture. And that he fluidly moves across genres and masters them all - rock, rap, pop, a bit operatic here and there, traditional Chinese...

I think that’s HUA’s first concert. I felt the same way, like not impressed at the beginning, could be the accent or the body language, (even though I have accent myself)but then when the chorus start, I start feeling the song, like some part of my soul got dragged to somewhere.

The performance was impressive, but I agree that this was not the best cover of Creep. "Baby Bamboo" is a YT channel that adds English subs to a lot of Chinese videos.

finger off the pause button please. You ruin the vibe of the music. I understand the need to comment, but pick your pauses more carefully and fewer times.
