- I think this is my favourite song from Hua Chenyu so far, so come watch along with me as I react to Hua Chenyu singing 'Moutains and Seas' from The Singer in 2018!!
From the smooth and airy start, right through to the guitar playing at the end, this was absolutely enthralling!

Loved this song too, but there are no songs by Huahua that I have not liked! I do have my favourites, but they change all the time!
If you are going to react to Fake Monk next, there is a version where Huahua talks about his childhood before singing. The interview will give you some insight in to Huahua’s reasoning behind the song. The version by Nynxstar is the one to watch. He asks that people not to take subs without crediting him.
Another interesting singer from Singer 2020, is Zhou Shen (Charlie Zhou). He appeared on The Voice, China in 2014, singing “Huan Yan”. He was also in the Singer 2020 competition. Try “Time to say Goodbye” first, and then “Poignant Land” a duet with Chen Chusheng” - from the Circle of Sound tv show. Very different type of song from Time to Say Goodbye, showing his versatility. Their voices are so different, but combined - Wow!!

Он перенёс свой удивительный мир Марса к нам на Землю, создал уникальный марсианский город, чтобы все его поклонники смогли по настоящему почувствовать себя марсианами, вернувшимися домой... Хуа Чэньюй в детстве был одиноким ребёнком, родители которого расстались, когда ему было два года. Отец зарабатывал на жизнь, практически сутками проводя время на работе, из-за чего ребёнок ощущал себя одиноким и заброшенным. Но с другой стороны, благодаря именно таким жизненным обстоятельствам, у Хуа Чэньюй была полная свобода, где никто не контролировал его занятия, интересы и цель в жизни. Благодаря своему независимому мышлению с раннего возраста, Хуа вырос яркой, индивидуальной личностью и сумел воплотить в жизнь свою самую главную детскую мечту - создать свой собственный мир Марса на Земле и обрести огромную семью из любящих его всем сердцем "марсиан".

"atmospheric" might be the word you want to describe?
"Me" is the young and innocent/naive version of himself in the past who still had dreams for his future. He didn't turned out to be who he dreamed of, and he couldn't answer his younger self what happened and why. It's a philosophical song.

HuaHua is such a force to be reckoned with, for me he's one of the best artists in China ❤
If you think he is beautiful here, you should see him now... Stunning...and in a much happier place. He's had a difficult journey (which is why he chose the songs in the order he did, for that Series. There is a backstory from Qi Tian... right through to The Final when he sang.. "I am who I am" 😭 The guitarist in this video is Tommy. As Vijandra says.. Watch the pre-stage interview for Fake Monk. It is a PERFORMANCE... watch everyone hold their breath... and then.. breath out together. Mesmerising.

One of my most favorite from Singer 2018. I think that what you expressed about HuaHua is what we all felt when we started to know him. He's quite unique, never fails to convey his emotions, draxs you into the story he's telling each time, and you never know what you're going to get with him, his rearranged covers are like these songs needed his finishing touch and his own music is gorgeous. HuaHua is full of surprises, immensely talented and a true performer! Very much enjoyed your reaction, thank you! ❤

Hi, I recommend to watch the prestage interview when you are reacting to Hua Chenyu Fake Monk . It is a very special performance. The prestage interview will give you some insight why he is performing the song that way.
I find there is always some deeper meaning layered within the songs Hua-Hua chooses to cover, rearrange or compose. I love all his performances - even lyric-less ones like Cancer which is pure performance art .
Besides his Singer performances, you should also check out his rearrangements in the Chinese show The Next. His duets are beautiful - his Idiot and Nanping Evening Bells are on my playlist of perennial favorites. If you can, do react to his own concert performances. In case you are not aware, Hua-Hua’s fans are called Martians. His concerts are Mars concerts - these are sheer spectacles! Am jealous of all his foreign fans who managed to catch his concerts in China.
