if you are going to navigate "slowly" in a tree-infested or stump-filled lake or river it is more difficult to view stumps or tree limbs sitting down using a hotfoot. you can stand up using a hand throttle and view what is in front of you whereas when sitting down try to observe stumps or trees in the water.
It is very apparent you have never been deep sea fishing. Different strokes for different folks. How do you use a hot foot when you're in a boat where you have to stand and the waves literally throw you into the air and back down? A hot foot can be just as dangerous to some as beneficial to others. Why do you think that there is not one single offshore boat with one?
Your teammate Randy Blauket has a video on why not to run a hot foot. Maybe you two should do point, counter point. I will tell you this. I just bought a used boat with a hot foot. First time out the hot foot didn’t return to idle and It scared the crap out of me! So, I can see it both ways. My old Skeeter did and I loved it. I am more pro hot foot than against it. My trim is still on the shifter so, my hand will be on the trim switch a lot. Love your videos
Installed my first hot foot in the boat i have now and will never ,ever, ever go without one on any boat i own , they are the best safety device ever invented for a bass boat .great vid keep them coming
How is the hotfoot when idling for a long time-is it tiresome? Is there more coordination needed for docking? I want a hotfoot to hold a spotlight for night fishing.
If you want to hold a fast idle it can be tiresome if you are doing it for hours on end. But if you are in forward gear it idles at slow speed without your foot pushing it down which i would think is perfect for spotlighting.
Fully agree with you on this. I'll let Randy B. know...
haha
Excellent!
Glad you liked it!

Was it Randy B that hit the pontoon boat 🤣? C'mon you can tell us lol.
haha nope
@@MattStefanFishing dang LOL that would be kinda funny cuz he's very vocal about being anti hot foot
10 bucks says the guy who hit the pontoon boat was Randy Blaukat

thanks for the suggestion
Good video 💪 when you are using a sonar, its not difficult to keep the boat on the optimal speed? Thanks
agreed
I have had a hot foot in all my boats since 1989. In rough water my eye foot throttle coordination is much better than eye hand throttle coordination.
Agree
You are 100% right Matt I have two boats and have a hot foot on both
thanks! I wish I had two boats
I have never had a boat with one, but I concur with your statements. I can see how it would be beneficial to safety. Thanks.

Great video I would not have a boat with out there would be one time if I am running 50+ miles on the great lakes calm condition which is not to often
yeah it can be rough out there
randy gonna freak out...lol...love ur vids
Randy and i usually agree but not on this one haha
Yep u guys are awesome
Old dog(s) don't want to learn new tricks.
I'm just gunna guess the guy you know that hit the pontoon may or may not be Randy B. Lol
No it wasn’t Randy haha
It is a good topic to discuss, curious if the coast guard or boating industry has ever weighed in on the topic.
@@ronaldd932 that’s a good question. I’d love to see if there have been studies done.

I honestly love a hot foot and a boat drives so much better with one!!
