Jacob, FYI spray silicone is a great lubricant, it will not collect dust and dirt like oil based lubricants. It also will not damage finishes carpet or stain. I will be picking up a spare spring for my hotfoot. I do have a backup on my new BasCat I ordered it with a DTS Mercury and control’s. This option gives you the option to use the hotfoot or hand throttle a very sweet option.

@@jacobwallfishing Its great advice. Had my hotfoot spring explode in Columbia River wild west event last year and didn't know what was happening. Stomped it coming out of the locks at McNary dam and about had a heart attack when parts starting flying and I couldn't stop the boat...lol.

I found them on Amazon the sizes are are universal
I would not recommend using the pliers to open the spring up. Use a wrench and remove the bolt
This exact thing happened to my buddy.. he didn't have an extra one in the boat.. he does now.. lol good tip..
How tight should a hot foot be? Mines super tight! Do you have any advice on how to fix a super tight hot foot? It's to the point that it will nearly give me a leg cramp trying to push it down
Just go down there loosen the bolt up a little bit holding the spring tension
