    This video explained several terms I wasn’t sure about plus ledge fishing is something I haven’t been able to get my head around. This was very helpful. Thank you.

    Tim... Great video... one request... in addition to what you covered in terms of fishing spots and topography, could you also explain how you fish these areas when you are doing it... do you fish/cast parallel to the drop off or perpendicular to it... how you approach the spot and start and move from there. You hit on it a little but would be interested in more details. Thanks and great job as always.

      Great suggestion, might I add.. during a how to attack these spots vid, explain what is too deep to fish as well… as I have heard you can injure/kill fish if you pull them out of deep water..(sry, this was a good suggestion and I wanted Tim to touch on this as well)

    There’s so much good information in this video!! Thank you Tim for a great video!!!👏🏻👏🏻 I was wondering if maybe y’all could do the same type of video for natural lakes? Down here in NE Florida our lakes are pretty featureless and it’s seems like nobody ever makes videos on how to fish those types of lakes. Our lakes aren’t that deep and don’t have the contours like other lakes. it would be awesome to see how y’all breakdown a natural lake and show where’s good places to start and how fish move in lakes that aren’t in highland or lowland reservoir or river systems.

    Those look like crossties I found some just like that on Guntersville in the mouth of Short Creek. It wasn't a train track but a trolley system to take goods from the Top of Sand Mountain to load on a barge in Short Creek.

    Awesome info, but them weird structures could be old gardening beds since moving to Tennessee. I've learned most of our lakes are highland reservoirs before the daming there used to be a lot of communities, just a possibility... Great upload, Tim

    Thanks Tim. I would love to see what a 'ditch' looks like, please. And how to set up & fish one. What is the difference between a ditch and a saddle? Thanks.

    • @helotaxi
      @helotaxi ปีที่แล้ว

      A ditch is usually, but not always, an old creek bed or drainage that runs across a relatively flat portion of the lake bottom. A lot of times you'll find them running across shallow flats. They're not very pronounced much of the time, and often they don't show up on the map cards because the depth change is less than the contour interval (depth change between contour lines) of the map. Locating ditches on a large flat is where side imaging really shines.

    Hey Tim if your s.s was set at 150' and you were in 30' of water you were s.s. out to 120' correct? Did you only have 2 custom depth colors set red for 0-5' green 15' -20? Thanks for sharing very helpful.

    According to Navionics Web App there are three submerged bridges in that arm. I think you may have been going over the footings for one of those bridges.

    Any recommendations for the bank guys who still want to know what the bottom looks like? Can those navionics cards go in a handheld gps or similar device?
    I know there are some mobile apps (Fishbrain using a navionics product for one) as well but personally I’m not a huge fan of that one so I’d be interested in suggestions.

    How do you do this at home? I was told not to run the transducer out of water but idk how to turn the transducer off. Sorry just got my first boat a month ago.

    • @kellymoore4517
      @kellymoore4517 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Go to systems and turn on disable transmission, that will turn off the transducer, go to maps and look around, just remember when you fish again to enable sonar transmissions.

    • @helotaxi
      @helotaxi ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The transducer might overheat. You can select the "Stop Sonar" option to disable the transducer if you're doing map study on the unit while you're not on the water.
