The best vegetable in the world for constipation is OKRA. Saute with garlic and oil, do not cut, as the slimy substance will come out and most people do not like the taste of it. Keep it whole and saute only until it turns slightly dark green, only for about 1 or 2 minutes. It should be still firm and have a slight crunch to it. You can add some spices if you like but I used garlic salt, just a bit, not a salt lover. I usually choose the small Okra and still green, not the yellowish ones as they are a bit older and tougher. Okra also is good in batter and fried, but it is healthier when sauteed.
I had a friend who had a problem with constipation and she suffered for 4 days not being able to go. I made her the sauteed Okra and didn't tell her the effect of this powerful little veggie. The next day she told me that it worked like a "BOMB" and she felt sooo great and relieved.
So, try it, folks. This is a thousand times better than any other fruits or veggies. No need for med. You will love it, and please, thank God for His creation.

I've also added chickpeas and have limited my red meat intake and I eat small amounts.of other meats. I feel great! And I don't eat large salads cuz too much fiber will constipated me so I have small salads.

I had a bad spell of blockages causing a visit to hospital, the advice cut back in fibre...too much whole grains and legumes caused my blockages and they advised increase soluble fat from meat, prunes and olive oil. That was 10 years ago and never suffered since. Almost every senior I know who use Metamucil have bladder infections and more frequent constipation....do not rely on over counter meds folks,

I’ve been WFPB for 25 years. My diet is rich in fiber plus I eat prunes daily. I recently added kiwis 🥝 to my bowel routine to help with chronic constipation since having COVID in September. I have a hiatal hernia so being constipated exacerbates my pain. I’m consuming magnesium in addition to MiraLax and veg laxatives as needed.
I’m seeing a GI next month however not many docs are interested in WFPB. Also
I’ve read that constipation is a compliant post COVID infection.

@lauralong6695 my roommate refused the Covid shots, he feels fine and never got Covid. I took two Moderna and soon had two blood clots in my right leg. I’m in shape and swim 3 times a week. Since the vaccines I’m miserable with constipation, no energy and depression. My Doctor is scratching his head, can’t say what caused the blood clots. I had to take Eliquis blood thinner for 12 months to avoid a stroke. Now, if I bump my arms or legs gently against anything, I get purple bruises that take weeks to go away, even though I haven’t taken Eliquis for 2 years, oh and I have diverticulosis. Digestive enzymes and magnesium helped me. One of the biggest causes of constipation is low stomach acid. For this apple cider vinegar/flaxseed oil/fish oil or vitamin C (or a combination of them) just before meals or a betaine hydrochloric acid tablet during meals can be beneficial. I also think for those people also suffering with chronic anxiety it may be an indicator that they are stuck in an anabolic state. In this case it is better to take magnesium/flaxseed oil and fish oil supplements early in the day and apple cider vinegar in the evening. If you have chronic constipation cut down on the fibre until you have resolved your problem or else you are just compounding the problem.

Hello, I have had problems with my bowels fo 40 years now, since having my daughter. It’s bad, been in hospital a lot ,saw several DRs, had colonoscopies.I am healthy in every other area,as far as eating properly,a lot of green,no red meat at all,I exercise regularly.
I found myself in emergency about 7years ago, totally backed up ( it so sickening) had a procedure done( bubbles & suds) it worked !!!! after being blocked for 4 weeks I think.
The Dr in emergency, had read up on my history from years gone back, and found I had a KINK in my lower sigmoid( surgery is not an option), he said I need to take a lax that blasts out the poo in one push, and never take stool softeners.
OMGoodness, this really worked well for me, still doing it now, yes I have had issues, but nothing like it was, I have taken many many, laxatives, that did not work ,I now take exlax extra strength pills. Thanks for this , Keep on pooping 💃.Cuddles from Canada 🌼🌺🇬🇧🇨🇦M

    Been this way 2 days.
I have used small enemas and suppositories that add water. I have a small bowel movement but that's it. It is runny ish. Small as in maybe 1/4 cup I don't know for sure.
    I've been sleeping mostly.
I eat a lot of pineapple and mandarins grapes and eat trisquits and rye crisps and Raiden bran or cream of wheat, oatmeal almost everyday!
I am on Fentynal patches and Oxycodone 10/325 for pain related to Pain from Bamberger Marie Syndrome that used Lung cancer as it's host. I'm clear of cancer almost 3 years but the syndrome although much better still causing me back pain and joint pain.
I drink a lot of water and a lot of teas (couple mason jars full) all day.
Bowel movements usually 2 to 3 days apart sometimes a bit longer. It will be close to normal with a usually hard part at beginning of going. Not usually painful. I gotta push though. I have no hemroids.

I got a nutribullet as a present from my husband and I throw in whole apples (chopped a bit )but with skin and a fair bit of core, same with pears and you have the basis for smoothies into which you can add kefir and whatever other fruit and veg you have on hand . Its way b3tter than juicing as the skin is all in there. Dates and nuts and whole cooked beets are other favourite ingredients as well as loads of raw spinach. However I do have IBS and haven't found what to do to help it yet but have noticed that eating within a 9 to 10 hour window has reduced my bloating, significantly. I think what I heard Will say on a Zoe podcast about starting slow and keeping it low until you achieve good movement is key.
