The storm ruler was…different from other blades. Some were decorative and added to strength, others wounded their own wielder in trade for burst of power. The storm ruler, chose who was worthy to wield its full power, the power of hurricanes, the powers of twisters and thunderstorms, the power to cut through mountains and fall giants with ease. It and it’s twin, have been passed down to many people, stolen a few times, reclaimed even less, but when they found a worthy wielder, they would stay with that warrior till the day they finally died. In the past one of the two twins found a worthy warrior, a knight in armor that looked similar to a onion, but under those layers of metal, sat a warm and kind heart who knew what power was and what should be done when one has it. It gave that knight of Catarina its full, unbridled power. The knight only ever used that power once, near the end of his life, alongside a comrade who, after their dear comrade’s death, carried the twins. The other found this being worthy of its power, and chose to remain with them…the twin now searches for a new partner, on the back of the ashen one.
Soul of cinder probably takes 2 in reality. He has a special thingy where the game host has to land the last hit to kill it instead of a summon or other things, thats probably why it took one more.
And the award of the longest-surviving boss goes to... Deacons of the Deep! Can't skip all those fat monks while waiting for the Archdeacon. Also, the absolute disrespect on Sulyvahn lol
supposedly you can kill the deacon in one go by attacking the central statue with an attack with enough range, as the guy holding the healthbar is hiding there to make the bossfight work.
True, but at the same time it’d be weird if he took it up again to block the power of a sword he literally left lying next to his throne, that’s practically screaming “I’m solely designed to make this fight kinda sad and mostly easy” But still, yeah. It’d be nice if you get to fight him again while with a shield after your first play through or after beating him. Kinda like the inner boss battles in sekiro, where you basically fight a super version (or in this case lord of flames versions) where you fight the lord of cinders at there best before they were reduced to cinders of there former selfs. …. Now that I think of it. I’m kinda surprised from soft didn’t really incorporate inner fights into other games.
Sadly his strength could not be harnessed without the sacrifice of his body. All the strength he put in each swing also slowly ate at his life until the fight was done. Due to him being tired and weakened, as well as the fact that his quest was done and hollows die when they fulfill their purpose, he passes away in the room where his dear friend sat in.

I love seeing the sheer devastation this weapon can unleash in its true form. I like seeing the best bro, Siegward, alongside you with his own full-power Storm Ruler too.

Hilarious that the two bosses that lasted the most/gave the Stormruler the hardest time were the two most forgettable /easy bosses in the game, the Deacons with their infinite bodies and Halflight with his mlg dodges

I did that with a spell in the cinders mod, at least I think it was Cinders. I had a dark magic spell which not only did loads of damage but stagger too and completely stunlocked Sulyvan for his entire health bar. Thanks cinders for restoring dark magic to it's DS1 power level.
The last hit on Gael via stormruler and the perfect timing of the lightning following. Proves, the storm doth rule all. Also Gael is such a freaking beast. Takes more hits than Midir. Also, love how Siegward is just there for aggro, lol he’s too good for that!

So basically, proper Stormruler would've Excaliblasted nearly every single boss out of existance. And that would make Siegward wielding the proper Stormruler the strongest NPC character by far. I love the Stormruler's effect of dealing different damage depending on which body part gets hit by its effect, like dealing extra damage when landing a headshot but dealing only a third of the damage when hitting anywhere else, as better evidenced with Midir. Sidenote: YO, that flex on Sulyvahn was amazing! 👌

I remember on my first playthrough right after I beat yhorm and read the description for storm ruler about it being super effective against giants I immediately went to the cathedral and tried to kill the giants with the special attack and I was so upset it didn’t work how I thought it would lol

Given when in the game you get it, I always though the Storm Ruler should have had the Yhorm effect on ALL giants. By the time you're on NG+ you'll certainly have the hardware to trivialize the giant mini-bosses anyway, so they may as well let you have fun and give the Storm Ruler *some* other functionality outside of the fight with Yhorm.
Nah you can fight it directly when you go in there. I had no idea I was supposed to go through the level and then fight it after a plunge. I got to that point and was confused by a plunge attack ahead message. And then I realized how the level was intended to work and laughed

So basically, proper Stormruler would've Excaliblasted nearly every single boss out of existance. And that would make Siegward wielding the proper Stormruler the strongest NPC character by far.
I love the Stormruler's effect of dealing different damage depending on which body part gets hit by its effect, like dealing extra damage when landing a headshot but dealing only a third of the damage when hitting anywhere else, as better evidenced with Midir.

Given when in the game you get it, I always though the Storm Ruler should have had the Yhorm effect on ALL giants. By the time you're on NG+ you'll certainly have the hardware to trivialize the giant mini-bosses anyway, so they may as well let you have fun and give the Storm Ruler *some* other functionality outside of the fight with Yhorm.
I've never notice how much HP gael has compared to midir because he's so much more fun to fight

Nah you can fight it directly when you go in there. I had no idea I was supposed to go through the level and then fight it after a plunge. I got to that point and was confused by a plunge attack ahead message. And then I realized how the level was intended to work and laughed
@@Arshelan could swear the thing has such beyond absurd defense and/or attack as they wanted to steer the player into the scripted plunge.
@@ArcRay20 oh it still took forever to kill the thing, just was a bore after learning the proper dodging technique for its attacks. I honestly didn't even see the way out until I killed it xD
