    Well guys, here's my take. Are they better than without? Yes. But, they have a LONG way to go in image definition and quality before I think they're worth 1500 dollars. This is just 1st generation in this technology. I'm sure in the future, the image quality will improve greatly. When the image quality starts getting the clarity we are seeing now with the side scanning images, have live time images, clearly see your lure and fish without breaking in and out of image, THEN I will be interested. Personally, I just feel that at this point they're not worth the price for what they're delivering. But, to each his own. Thanks for what y'all are doing and really like your videos.

    I have Lowrance HDS Live 12 and ActiveTarget and absolutely love it (I fish 12 crappie tournaments a year) and you are right no need to change your electronics for 1 or the other if you have Lowrance its ActiveTarget if you have Garmin its Livescope. Great job guys keep up the quality videos

    Good video! Would love to see the same comparison with both units dialed in as far as settings go.

    This one is pretty simple... you have lowrance graphs? Get active target, you'll love it! Have garmins? Get livescope, you'll love it!

    Is there a big difference between the elite fs and the hds live running active target?

    Thanks for your videos of this comparison. I'm old school fishing trying to learn this technology. When I started tournament fishing a flasher was it, then paper graphs. I still have my x-16. What is the flash signals on the screen?

    • @greyhunter9287
      @greyhunter9287 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I hear you there. I didn’t even know you could put a flasher on a boat at first when they came out. But I remember thinking they were one of the greatest ice fishing technologies ever back in the day! Didn’t think it could get better than that….lol!

    I talked to a Lowrance representative and he said that they engineer their products to perform well in automatic. He said that he cringes when a pro changes their units to manual mode.

    Would you ever consider just using livescope by itself? Why even have the other traditional transducer views anymore?

    Here we go again with "auto setting" BS. You have to adjust the unit to the water clarity each time you go out. Why didn't you use the exact same tree for both units at the beginning of the video? Why did you show LS on one tree and then go "10ft" away and show Lowrance on a completely different tree? That defeats the purpose of doing a side-by-side comparison. Had you shown the same tree with the same fish...LS would have won hands down even in "auto setting". None the less, appreciate the video.

      I agree. My livescope settings are so dialed in it makes this comparison look like 2d. If you want the most out of your Graph you have to get out of auto mode!

      @jpry9689 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree! Too many variables to make a fair comparison. True side-by-side would help!!! However, these videos show that a Garmin 8612 is definitely NOT worth the huge expense compared to cheaper options for Livescope. So that will help people save some $$$$! Maybe for the next video, get some experts to dial in the units, then compare.

    I see you're trying to be diplomatic, but Garmin needs to up their game. No matter how much fine tuning I do with my Livescope, it still shows way too much noise just like your videos. ActiveTarget the new bench mark.

    • @jamespowellii1191
      @jamespowellii1191 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nope, you need a little of the noise to see the detail of the cover and bottom. Garmin perspective mode was hands down better in shallow water where it is supposed to be used. Hard to compare when the down shots are of 2 totally different trees.

    • @alexandrosfrangoulis
      @alexandrosfrangoulis 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Garmin perspective mode is much better.
