    I started with a paper graph from Lowrance. I'll probably stay with them. Great video.

    Lawren once again I GREATLY appreciate and I hope other people feel the same about the huge investment you make to do this and time settings everything up to give a real life comparison,thank you buddy and as you know Lowrance is my product for life because there so simple 👊👍

      Ive had both. Garmin is much easier to navigate once your used to it.

      @@alexandrosfrangoulis Alex I guess it’s one of things when you make the investment you kinda just stick with one company and even Russell Marine seems to say Lowrance is better,but I appreciate and respect your comment and feedback buddy ❤️👊

    Think the canting of your Rytek mount at 1:59 is effecting the distance return on the Active Target 2.... Beam angle is out of range at 95ft and can see the ping @ 6:52

      Agreed. The blank sector proves that this is in the incorrect position.

    Garmin is the best, adjustability is the most important thing because each setup & day is different. I guess if you don’t compete or if you only fish one body of water then it doesn’t matter. I ran both systems this year and I’m switching to garmin dedicated.

    The echomap ultra and hds live are on the same level. Garmin is a good bit cheaper but their specs are very comparable.

    You can use the + - buttons to control how far out you want to see.

    You should turn stableview off on the Lowrance and see if your forward range increases. It appears that the farthest sector is not showing (likely because stableview is on). That sector doesnt show the ping interference either. It should show 150'+ no problem at that depth.

    It would've worked better if you had some sort of cover or structure in the distance like a tree or a bridge piling

    Do you think the delay will be the same with the new hds pro? The delay seems like it would be annoying. I’m in the market for a new head unit and torn between garmin and lowrance.

    10 screen presses on garmin vs 8 on lowrance including you changing the color twice? Is that really that big of a difference?

    • @InDepthSonar
      @InDepthSonar  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I think I only changed it once.... But it's just to show the Garmin UI needs some improvement. There are lots of other examples (one shown in the video) that I could give. Regardless of screen presses. Look how much further into the menu you have to go change the color for example. That's my point. Good thing is, its a software thing which could be updated and made easier to use.

    I really don't see much difference in the sonar.. seeing out up to 100 feet in more than enough coverage. Thx for sharing

    Awesome video as usual 👍🏻 I hope you don’t mind, I have a question that’s better suited for an older video. But you probably won’t see it over there. I just purchased the Active Imaging HD 2in1 transducer. Does this have CHIRP frequencies for down and sidescan? I bought it because I have a through-hull pod but I don’t want to miss out on any benefits other than fish reveal for sidescan. Thanks

    Did you notice lowrance were propably not angled correcty. You are missing surface all the time and thats why range is so short

    Disappointed that they did not fix the delay issue.

    Do the two transducer interfere with each other when running them at the same time? I was thinking of leaving my active target 1 on and adding the garmin lvs 34 on a blitz from dd26 I’ll be running both garmin 126 and Lowrance lives console and bow on my boat

    It's about pricing now, who gives us the best price.

    Never gone fishing and just by the look of things Garmin is better. You clearly see the fish and it has less imput lag so you see the movements faster too. I think for the high price tag Lawrence is not worth it

    I think you have to focus on apples to apples and just talk transducer and image... I have a different Garmin screen with a different menu that doesn't have any of these problems...

  • @cclawman

    The Echomap Ultra 106SV is a discontinued unit so you are comparing Lowrance to a discontinued Garmin unit. If you use the back button on the far left of the menu you skip a lot of back screens.

    • @InDepthSonar
      @InDepthSonar  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      106sv are not discontinued, there are two versions. The one I was using has the LakeVu mapping in it. The new version has Navionics+ in it. Even so the Lowrance I was comparing to is in the same boat, Live units are going to be replaced with Pro units. Also in the video I stated that the comparison favors Lowrance for a few reasons.
      When I use the back button it just cycled through the menu. Didn't go back to the page I was on. Maybe we have different software?

    Anyone else annoyed the fish are not hitting the lure?

  • @alexandrosfrangoulis
    @alexandrosfrangoulis ปีที่แล้ว

    Clearly lowranced biased. Ive had both and there's no way Lowrance menus are easier. That's just false.
