As a motorcyclist you know that you have to lean in curves, the testdriver tried to compensate the leaning. Ever driven a motorcycle where the passenger didn't want to lean? Same effect. The Carver does the leaning for you, you do not have to do it yourself neither compensate. Though the Carver One isn't produced anymore because they cannot get the motorengine any longer, there is now an electric Carver on the market, in two versions, 45 km/h and 80 km/h. Same basics and leaning, little less aggressive.
Another ( super expensive) option is the monotracer/racer and it's predecessor. 2 wheels only. 500+kg so I doubt you leaning matters. Retractable learning wheels for slow speed. Full cabin.
@dutchman7623 The motor engine is from the Japanese Truck, I believe it is a Daihatsu, aren't they cheap? I guess they aren't manufactured anymore because of the strict regulations over there.
Yes. After while you could smooth out the steering, and therefore the body roll. As someone who used to love motorcycles, I could really dig this thing.
@@dlittlester I think if you got used to it it would be smooth. I have a feeling its inexperience as the swaying went away over the course of the video.
Pretty sure that thing feels quite a bit different, because it doesn't really react to your body, but the tilt is purely mechanical and based on detecting g-forces, with a delay, too. @Kristof Alexy Riding a bike would probably be more comfortable than this. This just looks weird, I wonder how long it takes to be comfortable in this lol. Looks cool to me though.

Those three-wheel bikes with two wheels at the front (Piaggio?) that are so popular in Paris seem to do something very similar.

If you've never ridden a motorbike or a trike, then a persons first impression of this is ''what the hell?'' Beginners will fear tipping the thing over when it leans. Folk that ride sportsbikes (or experienced riders in general) will automatically lean into the corner, the bike leaning left or right, and our heads leaning in the opposite direction (so the 'horizon' is always straight/level). It takes getting used to, but I guarantee, 100%, that if you stuck with this, you'd be flying into corners like a superbike rider. Only downside is you cannot open the door to ''get your knee down''!. With the roof off, I'd be inclined to wear my crash helmet though. The rear seat/foot arrangement would not bother most bike folk, as pillions are used to cramp leg positions and being hard up against the rear of the pilot. (just ask anyone who has sat behind a rider and bumped helmets on a regular basis). Looks like a hoot, and I'd not hesitate in taking it on some twisty windy B roads and wringing the buggers neck. The only thing I would re-engineer, is the gear shift, so it could be a paddle system on the wheel. That way, you might be able to remove both doors for a better riding experience.
This fantastic vehicle proves how ridiculous we are in the face of anything new, no matter how new is a perfect wonder. We need to remember that in the past we called the first motorized carriage "diabolical". We are still pathetic beings.

Great vehicle and very Hubnut. Happy new year Mr Nut, hope it's a good one for you and your new sweet heart.
Certainly a bizarre experience even from here! Thanks again Ian. :-)

Happy New Year from Amsterdam!
